  1. I think he has some opt out or something where he can refuse an assignment to AAA at the end of camp even though he's on a minor league contract. I don't know where his confidence about making an MLB roster on opening day comes from though.
  2. 7/34 from three while the opponent hits 50% is going to be hard to win. But I'll still be a little worried if they go 0-3 against the same good team with two losses at home. For now I'll just chalk it up to early season flukes and a back to back on the road.
  3. If the Bucks don't stomp them in two weeks I'll actually be a little concerned about drawing that matchup.
  4. He "proved" he wasn't a AAA player last year by posting a -.2 WAR, though.
  5. "Taking it seriously" is one of those things to me like "we weren't ready to play" where people just say it but nobody really can explain what it means. Like what am I supposed to do take coronavirus seriously, other than wash my hands, eat fruits and veggies and sleep 9 hours a night? I was doing that already. Taking it seriously is the job of the CDC and border people. I pay a minimal amount of attention to the news and I don't think keeping my eyes on it would do anything for anyone. If it explodes to I Am Legend levels I'm dead anyway. I couldn't care less about being right, it's not about that, it's about accepting the reality of zero control over a most likely unfortunate but exaggerated situation.
  6. 538 did a write-up on that the day before: https://fivethirtyeight.com/features/few-teams-have-ever-defended-like-these-milwaukee-bucks/
  7. Just a tidbit I discovered. I assume others received the thank you card in the mail with the voucher. It is available to redeem today, and there are 4 games you can use, including 2 in June, not just the 2 advertised in April. It also allowed me to redeem on loge infield box, not just FOB. Pretty cool. I'd get in early to get the most out of it.
  8. They are making this team look like the Hawks.
  9. Since I mentioned this earlier, just want to spread the wealth. There are a couple nice deals on youth jerseys out there right now. A $25 youth small Giannis https://store.nba.com/milwaukee-bucks/youth-milwaukee-bucks-giannis-antetokounmpo-fanatics-branded-black-fast-break-replica-player-jersey-statement-edition/t-36369694+p-3641017602334+z-9-3167446853?_ref=p-SRP:m-GRID:i-r3c2:po-11 And a less good $33 youth small Yelich https://www.mlbshop.com/milwaukee-brewers/youth-milwaukee-brewers-christian-yelich-white/royal-alternate-replica-player-jersey/t-14004349+p-8140893342663+z-9-2292613046?_ref=p-SRP:m-GRID:i-r0c0:po-0 Appears this one is now up to $45 but was $33 as of yesterday. My 6 y/o's birthday is next week so I was really happy to snag them both.
  10. Somehow I missed this but this thread is hilarious. Thank you.
  11. If you live in the Brewers viewing area and attend even a couple of games, it would almost make no sense to buy MLB.tv and not just get a 20 pack. I assume any such person is a pretty big Brewers fan and the cost differential would be minimal if not in the other direction just by selling off a couple prime weekend games/OD.
  12. That 2.3% mortality rate would sit well below SARS. In the unlikely event it infects 3.5 billion people, many would experience little or no significant symptoms. The people who matter, health experts and disease control officials, are keeping it in their thoughts. Mass public hysteria that most of the media ignites isn't warranted or productive.
  13. FWIW there are a ton of resources on bypassing blackout restrictions with VPNs and the like. Google and you'll find about a million.
  14. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think you're getting Brewers baseball with Spectrum live. It's a bunch of crap like extra innings and MLB Network. I can't imagine they'd give away their golden cow with the streaming service. Those regional sports networks are the only thing keeping cable TV afloat. The rest of it's crap or can be had for peanuts.
  15. Given that every service says something like this and then FSNWI disappears forever I don't think it looks too great for YouTube TV. Sucks for everyone that enjoyed it. Personally I just lose interest once it's above $10 for a service, but I'd happily pay $10/mo for that one channel. Probably stuck with crap like this until all the deals can be scrapped and MLB can act on the fact that they need to get their games back in living rooms if they want to grow the sport. A combination of a 20-pk, radio, At-Bat, and occasional PW sharing will suffice for me.
  16. It's more like if the Bucks don't play really well in a Finals matchup, they are allowing the outcome to be more influenced by officiating. If you put yourself in a position where LeBron James just has to drive the lane and draw fouls over and over you are not doing yourself any favors. If you combine that with 38% shooting you are in real trouble. The NBA doesn't exactly have a great officiating history so it's not like those concerns are unfounded. I don't know if the NBA cares much about outcomes but they can't be huge fans of a 5-game series.
  17. It's made me more than a little scared all year. "Lesser" teams do win the Finals, you don't need to look beyond last season, but they usually have to demolish the favored team a la Pistons over Lakers, Raps over Warriors. The less darling teams can't afford to let the logo hang around in a bunch of games really late, where the NBA officiating monster loves to rear its ugly head. The Bucks do have a superstar though, and the one who is carrying the league forward.
  18. That doesn't tell you a whole lot based on where that ERA started. Obviously he has to be better than that but they clearly have a high level of confidence in him.
  19. If I was a player, I would always take this type of deal. You're playing a game for a living, and $15 million guaranteed is set for life money for you and your family. You never know when you'll get hurt, or if you won't pan out. There are a lot of scenarios where we don't get $15 million in value, there are also a couple scenarios where we get $100 million in value. I can't see any way that a pitcher, especially, can turn this down. He is a blown elbow away from ruin and now never has to work again.
  20. But what doesn't make sense to me is that I did get them last year, both my #1s, after a season in which the Brewers nearly made the WS. And one of my picks was a Yount auto session, it wasn't like I picked the refill cup. I realize it's still possible for the lines for items to get longer despite longer tenure, just wasn't expecting it. I had little expectation of getting family play day or BP on the field, but I thought my 3rd or 4th would come through. I'll take the book, whatever, but I have an email out asking if I can swap out the movie night I won't be able to attend.
  21. The Lakers are certainly the favorite but I don't think they have the West locked down like the Bucks do the East. They may not be the best team in LA once everyone is going full speed.
  22. You're right, that trio was almost identical in Game 6, although at least they got something from Bledsoe tonight.
  23. I really want to get this team in the playoffs. I need to see the Bucks put them down. Really don't like them.
  24. This wasn't all that dissimilar a performance that Giannis had in the playoff against them. It was a grind it out game for him where he still had an impact but wasn't fantastic offensively. Difference is he got a lot of help from Bledsoe, Mids and Lopez. Great win for the Bucks. They'll need to win this way on the nights Giannis can't go for 40.
