  1. Yeah, this is the second postseason in a row he's been a no-show. I think the powers that be are regretting that contract extension. He looks really good tonight, just that pass to nowhere actually made me laugh out loud.
  2. Kristen Ledlow is awful. Not that any sideline reporters really change my life. But I think someone told her to annunciate once and she took it a bit too seriously.
  3. Bledsoe, lmao. That one was bad even for him.
  4. I've seen enough of Giannis bringing that ball up. I think it's possibly the worst way he can be used in this series.
  5. The Raps won't do a thing to restrain him. That state of the art practice facility came out of his pockets. The league probably should do something just as a matter of precedent. Letting people wander around and rub the coach is a pretty reasonable line imo.
  6. Well said. My issue with it has always been that it's just too much of a fan-centric view. All of these guys, all of them, had to perform with scouts watching them in AAU, high school, college ... they don't get here by cracking under pressure. It's easy to say that isn't as much pressure, but that's relative. If you buckled under that it would and does manifest itself way before you get to the NBA. And that's a reason plenty of guys don't make it.
  7. Bet he has a big game tomorrow.
  8. Gruber's kids went to my high school. They were obviously super well off, but nice kids. I don't doubt that Gruber is extremely intense professionally. When I was younger, David came to our basketball league quite a lot and was kind of "that Dad" on the sidelines. Both his kids played NCAA sports, his son did basketball at Brown and his daughter I think tennis at Madison. She won a couple state titles. You don't achieve what he has without a lot of drive; his commercials are goofy and a stereotype of personal injury lawyers, but he's immensely successful and the firm is very good for its clients. So it's not hard for me to believe he's super overbearing.
  9. Pop was the first guy I thought of. I don't think he would hesitate to tell somebody to get away from him. Gruber on Bud, lmao. Oh man do I wish that would happen.
  10. Drake is not an owner. That's come up several times now. He gave a lot of money to build the training facility and is an employee of the team as their ambassador or something, but he doesn't have a stake in ownership. Even if he did, it is weird if not wrong to be rubbing the coach's shoulders in game. He's also probably the most famous person in Canada so I don't think anyone will tell him to stop.
  11. I guess one of Giannis's reps went after Drake on Twitter. He wasn't wrong, but probably should've been left unsaid. He deleted the Tweet. Basically said it was unprofessional of security to allow Drake to roam around and at one point rub Nurse's shoulders. Can't really say he's wrong there. That should ratchet up the noise for Game 6.
  12. The Raptors have however been very smart with when and how they foul Giannis. It's something you can't really do with Leonard as he hits 90%+.
  13. The stats don't really bear out the FT thing. Most of the guys are right where you'd expect. Mids is 8/11, Lopez 8/10, Hill 11/12, Mirotic 13/15. Brogdon has only shot 7. Giannis is 10% below his 73% season average and he's shooting most of them, but even if he's 80% that's 33/41 up from the 26/41 he is now. I don't think it'd make any difference is where we are right now. He absolutely needs to be better, not arguing that, but the real issue here is the half-court game they've been forced to play and the overall lackadaisical play of last night.
  14. If I were the Packers I just wouldn't trade him. No point. He's under contract for two years on a rookie deal. He's got no value, so just keep him on the chance he shows up and offers something salvageable out of 2nd round talent. They win if he shows up and plays ST. Or he shows up and they find a role for him in spot duty on defense or playing near the LOS. I don't see any gain by trading unless he shows up and just whines the whole time.
  15. A 32% chance of the other team scoring in that scenario or scoring and you missing a potential follow-up sounds about right to me. The natural thing as a fan is to be convinced the opponent will score with no/little time left but reality is that happens less often than it does.
  16. Anything short of winning the East with this team is a massive disappointment even though I genuinely thought they'd lose to Boston before that series began. It'll be pretty crushing. Just last year I never thought I'd see the Bucks in a Finals, so to see them get this close and not do it would be devastating as a fan. I'm not really excited about the whole "imagine how good they'll keep getting!" thing because 60 wins is pretty damn good and it won't get easier to replicate that success. They were a dominant 1 seed and they need to capitalize on this. Just like the Brewers should have last year. 01 is very fresh for me and I've lamented it since.
  17. Obviously, I'd rather have had him hit the shot, there's many things I would have rather had happen in these last two games, but I felt like the logic here was well explained. In any event, this back and forth isn't productive anymore. Agree to disagree. If he makes it there is probably about a 40% chance the Bucks win in regulation, maybe higher?. Versus OT being essentially the best-case scenario once he missed. I'm not seeing what there is to disagree on there. Yes they still could have and arguably should have won after the miss, but him hitting that shot likely tips the scale more in their favor than any other point in that game. But yeah, the point was it's a very thin line when you get to this point in the year. A couple moments can dictate a sweep or a 2-2.
  18. I'll freak out if they lose tomorrow. Until then there is plenty of reason to believe they can get this right. I hope Drakes comes to town but doubting he will.
  19. I think that's pretty revisionist. I'd rather Middleton make the shot and take my chances we hold on a final possession. Quite an assumption to say him missing that three made little difference.
  20. It was the same possibly as when he missed since the game still went to OT after that. I was assuming you meant possibly the Raps would lay down in 4 if they lost in 3, possibly they wouldn't. Huh? I don't have the numbers, but I'm safely assuming the odds of winning are better when +1 with 10 seconds left than they are if you're -2.
  21. Bud has to find a way to speed this thing up. I don't have anything in front of me but did the Bucks have a single fast-break bucket last night? It didn't feel like it. The Raptors have forced the Bucks into half-court basketball, which is a battle they will lose with Toronto every time. Those of you lamenting the "lack of depth" chatter, I would just say that it's a relevant issue for TOR, they know it, and have game-planned as such. They know if they run for 48 minutes they will gas, but if they're forcing the Bucks to stop and set up an offense 95% of the time they can hang and that's exactly what they've done. It is a LOT easier to play 35 minutes doing that than it is to run up and down constantly with 7-8 guys. On a lesser note, one thing that really stood out last night was the amount of lazy passes the Bucks had stolen or tipped. Somebody at the top of the key making a routine pass and having it swatted or tipped. Seemed like TOR was diving at everything for life and I didn't see that energy at all from our guys. The box score last is night is strikingly similar between both teams. The Bucks just did not look very hungry.
