  1. Hey guys, not trying to be a jerk here, but I personally don't care for Packers updates. That is a short Google away if I want to find it.
  2. I'd give Peralta heavy work in Game 5 after we go up 3-1.
  3. Again, I accept that. They can't have their 2nd or 3rd best reliever getting comfy on the bench in the playoffs. He has to pitch again, if he does and blows it, that's baseball. But I wanted Knebel out there because he is generally much better at avoiding contact. Counsell should have been thanking the baseball Gods that JJ got that DP to end the 7th and realized he gambled and won. Guerra didn't occur to me, but I am guessing that he was banking on getting a lot of use out of him in LA. I wouldn't have complained if someone else gave up the runs, just like I am not complaining that he yanked Miley. That made sense. Leaving JJ out there did not, to me.
  4. Is anybody else still waiting on a refund for the wild card game? We are sitting 13 days out now and I've gotten nothing back.
  5. I've been a fervent defender of CC all year and will continue to be one, but he blew it bringing Jeffress out for the 8th. I was surprised to see him because I thought it was obvious he didn't have it.
  6. I've made this clear already, but I don't feel good about where things are headed or this game in particular. Chacin can't throw a gem every time we ask. Fortunately my vibes are meaningless, but I think tonight is going to be ugly.
  7. I agree that they are joined at the hip with him, and if he can't pitch they are done, but nobody can really believe he is our best reliever. That is Hader and it isn't close. Yes, he's been very good this season, but he was downright lucky with BABIP this year and when they are both at the top of their game it is Hader all the way. Would anyone here really prefer JJ to Hader in the 9th inning of game 7?
  8. I think they gave it away by leaving Jeffress out there to serve up a meatball when everyone in the state of Wisconsin knew something wasn't right and hasn't been for some time. I get the dilemma he's put Counsell in though, because if he's out of gas or mentally out of it they are done anyway. He's been a crutch all year so there's no way they're doing anything without him.
  9. That's precisely why we can't give away a game like we did last night. I really believe Monday's game decides the series. Either the Brewers bounce back, assure it's coming back to Milwaukee and play with house money for the next two days, or they go 1-2, lose all the mojo and I think stand a good chance of ending this in LA.
  10. I don't get the big deal about his response. It was nothing. At least he sounded like a guy that was frustrated instead of rattling off a bunch of dumb sports cliches. Couldn't care less about what he says, he needs to start throwing the ball well and his post-game platitudes have no bearing on that.
  11. It is asking a lot and totally unrealistic, but regressing to OK would have been preferential to 1-of-8 with a bunch of Ks and stranded runners. Look I don't want to pile on the guy, but he killed us last night and had they blown Game 1 he wasn't great there either.
  12. Our MVP has pretty much been a thunderous fart since the start of October which is not really helping in the big hit department. If he were hitting at a Marlins level we are up 2-0.
  13. I'm sure a night of sleep will rejuvenate me, but this is the kind of thing that's incredibly discouraging despite how good of a season it has been. That lineup is so ridiculous, it just leaves you feeling like even when a team like the Brewers gets it right or catches lightning in a bottle, it's never going to be enough to catch these super teams. I know the window is just opening yadda yadda, but we are the Brewers. It is unlikely we even win a division again next year. We can't negate regression by signing Bryce Harper etc. Realistically I know we aren't doing this again for a while. That's why seeing a 2-0 series lead evaporate on a night Wade Miley gave you 6 shutout innings takes so much wind out of me. Ugh. Just sick about that game.
  14. I know it's a bit doomsday, but honestly I basically agree. I don't see this ending well unless they take two in LA. One won't cut it. They are going to throw Kershaw in one the two in Milwaukee and I doubt we get a pitcher to homer off him again or rattle him as they did. If it comes back to Milwaukee with us down 3-2 I've got no interest in attending the game. I'll be hoping for a 7 but I did the 'watch the visiting team clinch the pennant' thing in 2011 and I've got no interest in repeating that. I think that is moot though. Getting shades of 2011 here; JJ is either gassed or not right, our best arms out of the pen are getting hit a ton. I just have a feeling it's going to get really ugly and this may be over fast. No shame in it, but I think we just ran into the buzzsaw.
  15. It's more about how the games are going. They are playing to the Brewers strength and we are getting beat. Get the game to the pen has been the strategy all year. Problem is their hitters are better. Both nights.
  16. Rather Peralta than Jeffress at this point. Might as well bring in Zagurski if the goal is blowing leads with very obviously dead arms. Did ANYBODY want Jeffress out there in the 8th?
  17. I think this is a wrap. The hangover of losing a game like that after Miley's performance is significant. I felt they needed a 3-2 lead swinging back to Milwaukee and that's highly unlikely. When it's their strength vs our pen they've taken it to us two nights in a row. Our 9th inning guy is toast. Think we're done in 6.
