  1. April 29, 2000 http://www.checkoutmycards.com/CardImages/Original/016/518/01F.jpg Everett Stull walks 9 in 3 2/3 innings. 3 were walked home. The earliest I ever left a game (before the 3rd inning was over).
  2. I'm afraid to say they we probably won't ever see Turnbow again in a Brewers uniform. Hopefully I'm wrong Was this supposed to be in blue? Sending him to AZ to run tests on his arm will get them nowhere. Run some tests on his ten-cent head.
  3. I am in the minority, but I think this could be a good move as long as the following happens: 1. Mota gets dfa'd 2. Bush/McClung take over the long releiver/mop up role every 3-5 days 3. Villanueva gets regular apperances in the 8th inning over Gagne and Riske I agree with an earlier post that stated this move is more because of Bush's road numbers and not McClung's home numbers. Bush obviously cannot handle the added pressure of a hostile environment. Also, with McClung admittedly going through a dead arm period, this move may offer some needed rest for his arm that could help come playoff time. I also don't think they'll need to keep an extra pitcher, as whoever starts last out of McBush can come out of the bullpen 2-3 days later instead of trying to pitch one of them 3-4 days before a scheduled start. This could all obviously backfire, but even so, it will wreck the season as they can always go back to a five man rotation. I give credit to Yost for having the balls to try something against the grain like this. Just remember, the five man rotation wasn't part of baseball's vocabulary until the last couple of decades.
  4. But what if he's married? http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  5. 1. Get rid of Mota and either bring up Pena or trade for a bullpen arm. 2. Trade for Brian Roberts while hopefully giving up Weeks. 3. Teach Mike Cameron to protect the outside of the plate with two strikes. I swear if I see one more called third strike on the black of the plate I'm gonna rip my own face off.
  6. My thoughts exactly. Weeks is a liability at this point and waiting for his potential to come around may be futile. Roberts would be an upgrade across the board and finally give the lineup the spark up front it so desperately needs. Imagine having a lead-off hitter not pop up or strike out all the time. Oh how I love to dream.
  7. He contributed, along with Mota, by taking the wind out the the Brewers' sails. It's a lot different when your offense goes to bat in the 9th down 2 runs instead of 6. Granted, as long as the offense refuses to play small ball and protect the plate with 2 freaking strikes, this team is going nowhere. By the way, we all need to forget the argument about Weeks leading off. I want to know why is he even on this team anymore? He needs to be traded yesterday and we need to aquire a quality 2nd baseman like Brian Roberts. I'm sick of seeing 10+ k's per night in the boxscore and Weeks is always good for 2 of them plus an error. Going back to Mota and Gagne, I feel the only option is to take them deep into the woods with a rifle and give them both the Old Yeller treatment.
  8. You are a very bad man! Very bad! (finger waiving implied)
  9. How about Juan Acevedo for Fernando Vina?
  10. What talent!? http://www.google.com/url?q=http://www.youtube.com/watch%3Fv%3DMbxMyY8wazs&sa=X&oi=video_result&resnum=5&ct=thumbnail&usg=AFQjCNG9JncGTlCpTQ33k7G4zlkCX5SGpQ
  11. 1. Trade for another bullpen arm to replace Mota and possibly be the set up man. 2. Trade Weeks for Brian Roberts. 3. Win the Central
  12. As of today we're in the playoffs and that deserves no less than a B grade. That's Yost's job and he's doing it after a slow start this year. Considering the inconsistency of this club all year, I'd say Yost is doing just fine. Did anyone pay attention to how Bob Melvin managed the D-Backs against the Brewers? He's last years manager of the year and I don't think Yost could have mismanaged the lineup that bad if he tried. If the Brewers miss the playoffs this year, I would agree with Yost getting the pink slip as that was the main goal of this season. If they make they playoffs (it certainly looks good so far), he has accomplished that main goal and deserves some credit for it.
  13. I agree with those who said they are glad Harden went to the Cubs and not the Cardinals. The Cubs are making the playoffs regardless, so this actually may help the Brewers by taking a potential playoff piece away from the Cardinals. With that being said, I don't think the Cubs got a steal due to the high risk of injury with Harden. There is a good chance he may not even be healthy enough to pitch come playoff time, and Beane is not known for getting fleeced in trades. Hopefully we will all be laughing at the Cubs' ineptitude come fall.
  14. This guy is incredible. The board pokes fun at his post and he brings up his struggles with cancer to get sympathy!? If only we had that type of drama at BF.Net

  17. I like this trade a lot for the following reasons: 1. Whatever C.C. brings to this team in the regular season is great, but it's what he will bring in the post season that will make the trade worthwhile. He can go out there every 3-4 starts in October and allow the Crew to use players like Bush, Parra and maybe even Yo out of the pen. Obviously the Brewers have to get to the playoffs for this to be reality, but man it's looking good right now. 2. C.C. is a proven commodity, while prospects like LaPorta are not. Even though LaPorta's chances of becoming a star are good, they are not guaranteed, and that is why they call them prospects. The Brewer's have a very deep farm system, so their future is still bright even with this trade. 3. Two 1st round draft picks, or a 1st and a second round pick will be a nice tonic after C.C. walks. Given the team's recent success in the draft, there is a good chance another LaPorta will be coming along soon. 4. I think we should be able to nickname C.C. The Big Sexy as soon as he puts on a Brewer uniform. Ever since Sexson left there has been a void.
  18. Someone, quick check to see if Hell has frozen over!
  19. Nice. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/laugh.gif
  20. I pray this doesn't happen, unless they can get him for Turnbow and Gagne. I think he would be no better than Bush, McClung or Villy and would be just another pitching head case the Brewers would have to deal with.
  21. 16-11, a game up on the Cards and 2-3 games back of the Cubs at month's end. I don't see the Cubs giving up much ground this month. Also, C.C. will be in a Brewer uniform and looking very sexy.
  22. With success, you are seeing a lot more of these drunken louts at our games. This is the unfortunate part of having a popular team. It's too bad some of these idiots can't be more creative. I like to go to the game and be loud and boisterous myself, but I always make it a point to avoid cursing, as you can't walk one row without seeing a child. There's nothing wrong with being obnoxious and getting people to laugh at you while razzing the other team and their fans. It's when they can't handle their alcohol, temper and mouth that upsets me.
  23. I think the only way D.M. trades Prince is if we get at least one top of the rotation pitcher plus something else. With Sheets likely leaving this summer, this is the Brewers' best hope to fill in that hole.
  24. I think we all believe this. However, given what Doug gave up in the last deal with SD, is that all it would take? Anything more than Gwynn and a filler prospect would be too much (barring injury to Bush). I'm just hoping the Gwynn last name allows them to avoid giving up the farm, literally. If his last name was Jones or Smith, I don't think the Padres would have much interest. Given his family's history, though, it may allow the deal to go through without giving up a top prospect. I think the Padres understand he would be an instant fan favorite, and provide a bump in attendance even if he was average.
