  1. I was trolling through the forums as I usually do, and found this thread bumped for an awesome reason! I would love to donate bone marrow to a cause that I feel so passionate about, however, I think I'll wait 5 years from the date of my remission to make sure my marrow is "healthy." But yeah, everything is going good. My entire mindset on life is completely changed. I LOVE life now, I try to do as much as possible with the time that is given to me! I was always the type of person to be happy to just go to work, come home, watch tv, and thats that. This past January I took a vacation to FL (my first ever vacation out of state), and I'll be going back again in April. I also took the plunge and bought a car I've been wanting for literally YEARS. I also look at people quite a bit differently. I never judge, and I keep an open mind. Fighting my own battles has made me realize that everyone has their own problems, they don't me or anyone else judging them in any way, or looking at them differently. Going a little off topic, sorry, but I have been in remission since 3/11/09, and plan on staying that way until I kick the bucket! If you, or ANYONE you know gets sick, PLEASE tell them to check out the cancer center in the UW madison hospital. It truly is an amazing place.
  2. Gotta love the onion...
  3. Ah, good then. Why didn't we just split catching duties between Kottaras, Rivera, and Lucroy?
  4. We are giving up a draft pick for a 38 year old catcher?
  5. I have never been to Hawaii, but LOVE the natural world, and the ocean. I want to check this place out when/if I ever get out there:http://www.seahorse.com/Ocean_Rider_Tours/ Bought seahorses from this place, and they arrived in the mail in FANTASTIC condition. Would love to see how the place operates, and to hold some seahorses in my hands! Check it out if you guys are into that sort of thing.
  6. Time for an update! Had another CT scan on 9/26 and everything is still gone! The worst part of getting this cancer is probably the time between tests. I have never felt such a huge amount of anxiety and depression before in my life. During the treatments = hard physically. Post treatments = hard mentally! What makes things even harder is that I stopped paying most of my bills when I found out I was sick. Man, I regret doing that crap. My credit score is lower then my white blood cell count after a treatment. ZING!
  7. Anyone know what channel this is on in Milwaukee? My guide says its supposed to be on fox sports net, AND wmlw, but there is a football game on FSN, and wmlw is blacked out. Btw, I'm on TW cable
  8. For what these guys actually do, $20 dollars an hour seems like a bit much (if that is what they make). Most probably barely made it through high school. So we are into rewarding people for not getting an education now? I understand that furthering ones education just isn't right for some people, and I don't believe that college is for everyone, but for someone to do the exact same unskilled labor everyday, if they want a job, they should be willing to make some concessions. The union builds up some of these people and makes them think that they are indespensable, when they are. I worked at a job with a union once, and all they did for me is took a cut of my paycheck, and told you how great you were. When will some of these people realize that the company will move if they aren't willing to budge a little bit? Why are you assuming that it is strictly the unions fault for having these workers make that kind of money? The company has to offer the contracts for them to be voted on. The company is in just as much fault for them making that kind of money as the workers. Why is it so bad for these workers to be making a good wage? I think if the company is making a good profit, why not share it with the workers, who actually make the product.
  9. I have been on this board since 2001, and I can say the one good thing about the espn boards is when I first learned of brewerfan.COM on them! http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  10. The people that can't seem to figure out that the speed limit on 794 here in Milwaukee is 40.
  11. I was wondering if anyone has any experience with these birds, or with any conure in general. I'm going to be picking up a GCC this coming saturday straight from a dealer. He is fully weaned, extremely hand tame and is very young. If anyone has any tips or suggestions, please let me know!
  12. Never had a problem with mine as well. Bought mine in late 2006.
  13. That one made me laugh out loud. Bravo!
  14. aroundme imafia monopoly (1.99 when I got it, not sure how much it is now)
  15. Well, I caved and bought the system and this game. Good deal at target right now, with the 80g system you get two free games: Motorstorm and resistance fall of man.
  16. I respect the fact that his mother in law was dying, and I agree that the officer also stepped over the line when he stated, "shut your mouth," but when you run stop signs you deserve to be pulled over. Doing that increased his risk of getting HIMSELF killed as well as the people in the truck with him. I can't fault the cop at all for the initial pulling over, but the actions afterwards are inexcusable.
  17. I want to play this game so bad, yet, I don't have a PS3. Tell me, would it be worth it to buy a PS3 just for this game and the blu-ray player?
  18. Thank YOU for bringing this to our attention!
  19. A quick update! Just had my PET scan on 3/11. I am CLEAN! No active cancer whatsoever. Now I just need to go in every 3-6 months for 5 years to get a scan done. This whole cancer ordeal has sucked, but in the end, it makes me appreciate life more. I am almost glad I went through it.. Thanks Brewerfan.net for keeping me company those long 6 months. This site and all of its users definitely helped me along in the process!
  20. I can't beat this damn tower defense game on my Iphone. Maybe I am just plain dumb, because I can't even do it on easy! http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/frown.gif
  21. How could I NOT donate to this? Gave what I could!
  22. I did not read the original material as well, but it seemed like from the detail in the movie they stuck pretty close to it. Visually, the movie was great. Almost flawless. The plot was a tad slow, but I think it allowed more for character development, and that was a huge plus for me. The soundtrack was great, and I loved the use of the flight of the valkyries. For everyone that has seen the movie, you know exactly what I'm talking about! Rorschach was my favorite character, followed by the comedian. This movie makes me want to go and read the original writings..
  23. COD4 = me happy in the pants. I just can't stand being on one side of the map and emptying a clip of StG 44 into someone, and not killing them, yet getting hit once with an MP40 round and dying immediately.
  24. COD5 is extremely overrated. I'm not sure what they were thinking when they made the grease gun so overpowering. I can't stand how every person in the multiplayer only uses SMGs. It is way too easy to kill with the MP40. Plus they underpowered my Garand. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/frown.gif
