  1. The link has been updated for the rest of the season. There are a ton of games to choose from in Aug. and Sept. including the Friday Cubs game in Sept. I might have to take advantage of that one!
  2. I wasn't sure where I should post this to make sure everyone noticed it so feel free to move this if needs be. My buddy just forwarded on this offer the Brewers are doing. I believe the sale starts at 9am, but I'll be trying earlier. These are ridiculously good deals for these areas. I hope you all can take advantage of this as well. Enjoy... Brewers fans, don’t miss the Brewers One Day Sale, presented by Pick ‘n Save! Tomorrow only, fans can enjoy a 50% savings on select tickets for any Monday-Thursday home game in July. Click here to shop the Brewers One Day Sale, presented by Pick ‘n Save! Limit of 8 tickets per game. Only available while supplies last. (edits: font size & added date to topic title --1992)
  3. I just got this link sent to me for the opportunity to get $3.17 tickets for the 4/6 and 4/7 games vs Col. The person I got it from told me to send send it on to anyone so I figured I would post it here so you all have a chance at the tickets as well. Enjoy! password: IRELAND
  4. The Giants have instituted a completely dynamic pricing system for their individual tickets. In 10 years, most teams will be doing this.
  5. The bars need the Brewers (particularly the ones near the stadium) a lot more than the Brewers need the bars. The bars are making money off the shuttles! They would not do it unless they could make money on it. In fact, I'm willing to bet that when they came up with the idea of a shuttle to miller park, the idea that they were preventing drunk driving wasn't in the top three reasons why they were going to do it. The bars are still mad that they don't get Opening Day tickets anymore and that fuels most of their anger. Furthermore, the shuttles are taking away business from the Brewers in the form of parking revenue. So again, don't say that the shuttles are doing the Brewers a favor. Yes, it is great they they support the Brewers and I wish more bars around the state would do it, but their support is driven by the almighty Dollar just the same as any other business. If they couldn't make money on the Brewers, it would be an afterthought.
  6. 414-902-4523. The number above is incorrect
  7. I think it is short-sighted to say that Bud Selig doesn't care about the small market teams. Just because he isn't attacking the issue doesn't mean he doesn't care nor does it mean he isn't working on it. While he technically is the owners' servant, he has to serve many masters and I truly believe that with unemployment just under 10% nation-wide, I don't think he wants to risk a strike right now. That would be terrible PR. I think he is going to go for a couple of small changes in the draft and more teaks in the luxury tax and revenue-sharing to try to change the system. Also, I don't think it is fair to use organizations like Pitt, KC, or Baltimore to try to prove the point of competitive balance (or lack there of). Baltimore has money, but they just cannot put it together. KC and Pitt are so terribly run that even if they had tons of money it wouldn't matter, they would still tread water (Pitt had a payroll of $25 mil). Plus their are still organizations like FLA, MIL, MIN, and ATL that can put a quality product on the field while keeping the payroll out of the top ten. I really don't think the system is as broken as many people think. Again the difference between the #1 and #2 payroll teams is $60 mil! That's the Yankees spending every dollar they can. I think everyone knows and understands that a salary cap is the third rail of baseball and if Selig, the Owners, Players, and even fans want to grab it, they will get burned a bit. Personally I would prefer changing the draft and revenue-sharing before I wrap my arms around that third rail.
  8. Everyone is so high on the NFL and its economic model, but don't forget they are on the verge of a huge labor talks. I could see this ending bad for the NFL (lookout). The NFL is the ultimate cash cow and the players know it. I think the biggest problem with a salary cap is that it will end the guaranteed contracts. Now that may sound good, but that will lead to hold outs, which is by far the thing I hate most about the NFL. I think that if baseball is serious about making a level playing field, they should start with a draft slotting system so people who have never even sniffed a major league field are not getting paid more then 5-year veterans in the middle of their prime. Second, if there is going to be a luxury tax, make it an effective one. Maybe have a tiered system, 10% of a payroll over $150 mil, 25% of a payroll over $175 mil, and 50% of a payroll over $200 mil. An international draft would also be a better way to help level the playing field. One thing I think I always admired about the economics of baseball is that it is a rather good model for the economic hardships of life. There are the haves and have nots in both baseball and life. Not that I like that it is that way, but I always thought it was one of the more interesting aspects of baseball.
  9. What opposing team's jersey would he have on? Chris Coghlan's?
  10. I just heard from a buddy that the Brewers passed the 3 million tickets sold mark again today. Not really a surprise with the playoffs last season, but still impressive nonetheless.
  11. They have added a couple of weekend dates in September. 9/5 and 9/20 (which is the DM bobblehead). Thanks Jake!
  12. Carson Street is one of the big areas. Also, if you do go to Primanti's, be sure to go to the original one located in the Strip district. It is not far from the stadium too!
  13. Go to the Pittsburgh Zoo, it is awesome. Also, go on the Gateway boat tour. Gives you awesome views of the city form the three rivers. Lastly, head up to Mt. Washington for a nice dinner at the Georgetown Inn. They have by far the best onion soup I have ever had (if you like onion soup). After dinner, take a walk and enjoy the view of downtown at night. It is breathe taking!
  14. Spoken like a true bandwagon fan. Seriously, this has to one of the worst posts I have ever read. I really hope this isn't how a lot of Brewers fans feel or this fanbase will never grow beyond the small market status. Please tell me this is not how others feel.
  15. Miller park holds 45000+. The BC holds about 19000. Of course it is easier to get 82% of the BC "filled," there are less seats. That accompanied by the fact that the Bucks have half the number of home games would lead the logical person to think that the Bucks should have no problem filling up the BC. But once you enter the arena it is a ghost town. Let me make an analogy. The Marlins on any given night will say they have 10000+ in attendance, but we all know just by watching the game there are maybe a couple thousand at best. For bad teams, announced attendance is often very different from the actual number of tickets scanned. I don't think anyone will argue that you cannot get a Brewers ticket on almost any night, but what kind of seat will it be? Probably not a very good one. Again it depends on the game with the Brewers. W/ the Bucks, there are not too many games where you can say that.
  16. sure, but its not like brewers tickets are impossible. bucks played to 82% of capacity and the brewers were about 85% (give or take) last year. besides a couple games a year, the brewers are a fairly easy ticket. That 82% attendance is the paid attendance, meaning the tickets were already purchased via season tickets and other outlets. I went to about 5 or so Bucks games and if they had more than 8000 there on any of those nights, I would be shocked. The Bucks are having a hard time giving their tickets away, so it is no surprise that they are offering up the store to keep their season ticket holders. But it is cyclical, the Bucks we be good again some day and all of the cheap (some times free) tickets will be gone along with the jerseys, concession money, ect. so enjoy it while you can. That or they will move to another city and we can all enjoy a movie at the local iPic. If you looked at other MLB clubs, you will find the Brewers have some of the best season ticket perks.
  17. Schiltz & PBR...it's the stuff dreams are made of. Very strange dreams.
  18. I called and Jake said the May dates will be added this week.
  19. I'm not sure if anyone noticed this yet, they put a black tarp around the players lot. I imagine it will be difficult to get autographs from the parking lots with that there.
  20. How many times have we heard this before? I would venture to say that the prices are more likely to hold then see any significant drop (.25 isn't significant in my book).
  21. In a related sports business story, I'm kind of surprised no one mentioned this before. If it was already posted sorry. http://milwaukee.brewers....r_mil&fext=.jsp&c_id=mil For some reason I cannot make it a link, but I think it is pretty cool to be nominated as a finalist for sports team of the year!
  22. Metavante Club passes may be the worst "early renewal" perk yet. Metavante Club enterance is on the Club level, but outside the Club Seats. Are you complaining about something that is free?
  23. Metavante passes are being mailed this week, per my ticket rep.
  24. I guess I don't get this complaint. No where on the form did it guarantee your location. Also, all the tickets at the arctic tailgate were obstructed view, single seats, and standing room. Even the guys who set up on Wednesday got single seats. Plus the Brewers are offering you your money back if you don't want them. Is this a perfect situation? No, but I think the Brewers are making the best of an unfortunate situation. Why don't you sell the tickets you have to help pay for better seats? Seems like a reasonable way to go.
  25. It is the same dvd that was given away earlier in the offseason.
