    The ending didn't do a whole lot for me. I'm not used to watching series on a weekly basis (I usually watch a season in a few days on DVD or streaming) so I think I might be biased. I also don't like when they split a season into two parts. I'll probably dig it more when I watch the entire final season in a weekend.

    Today was the first time I've watched Nelson pitch since I saw him in Helena. I was definitely impressed today. He doesn't have ace stuff, but he could be a solid 2/3 type pitcher. Just lose Brewers. Just lose.

    Just when I thought I couldn't love GoGo more... Gomez on Reed Johnson per JSOnline. Gomez wasn't sure why Johnson came after him so hard off the Braves' bench. "I don't know," he said. "That's a good question to ask him. I don't know him. I didn't even know he was still playing. He just tried to protect his teammates. He's a fourth outfielder; doesn't play every day. He tried to be a super hero when he didn't even know what happened. But it's his team and he has to protect it."

    I don't understand why McCann and Johnson weren't ejected. Gomez shouldn't have been tossed, but it's probably for the best.

    BA and Rock are getting on the Cards for throwing seeds during the sausage race. Definitely comments made about the Cards being the keepers of the moral code and being classy. Awesome stuff. Anyone catch it?

    This has been one of the more entertaining games of the season. I'm torn between my hatred of the Cards and my love of high draft picks. I'd be ok with sweeping the Cards and losing the rest of the season. Yuni is still terrible at playing baseball.

    I was having a conversation with my dad tonight about the state of the farm system. Do the Brewers have any future all-stars? Consider all players with less than 1 year of service time in MLB. Thanks in advance for your input.

    Tigers acquired RHP Jose Veras from the Astros for OF Danry Vasquez and a player to be named later. Veras, 32, had a cool 2.93 ERA, 1.00 WHIP and 44/14 K/BB ratio in 43 innings this year with Houston and could get a shot at saves in Detroit if Joaquin Benoit has some hiccups. Veras is earning $1.85 million this season and carries a $3.25 million team option for 2014. Vasquez, a 19-year-old from Venezuela, was batting .281/.333/.390 with five home runs and nine steals through 96 games this year for Low-A West Michigan.
