  1. Good start, but same old Scott Baker in the end. I'm sure Gardy is thrilled. Baker continues to show some Radke-like ability to control his pitches, followed by a long stretch of pitching like Sidney Ponson.
  2. Bad at-bat from Braun. He'll learn from it.
  3. That's almost worthy of an e-mail. Holy crap...talk about giving in to some media-generated hype. C'mon, Jim. You're better than that. "Giving in to media-generated hype" is Schroeder's job. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/happy.gif
  4. They haven't talked a lot about the number of Brewer fans at the game on FSN WI, I'm not sure I want to watch the Twins feed, and I can't hear the radio. I'd guess there are at least 7,500-10,000, based on the roar when Jenkins went yard. It's hard to estimate without any crowd shots or eyewitness testimony. Anyone else hear anything I might have missed?
  5. Whoever brought up Baker's reaction hit that on the head. He knew it, and he knew he'd missed his spot badly. Redmond set up way outside, and he threw it in the Jenkins Wheelhouse.
  6. Or, you could just bring all four in. That works, too.
  7. They're loaded for Jenkins. Just a fly ball, Jenks. Bring us a run. Try not to hit into one of those things where they get multiple outs.
  8. Maybe a few half-inches, but not a few inches. Hall has to swing at that pitch. Period. He knows where they want to pitch him, and if he continues to not be able to hit hittable pitches, he's going to continue to struggle.
  9. Vargas is dealing right now. That's good. We need a long outing from him. As for the strike zone, if someone could draw me a picture of it, that would be great. I'm not sure it's possible.
  10. Even when you put it in blue, it's a ridiculous thing to say. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  11. I'm sure someone in the dugout knows, and maybe we'll find out before the end of the weekend. No matter what, someone didn't do their job. No doubt about that. Hey, look. Another scoreless inning for the worst starting pitcher in the American League.
  12. How many 80ish MPH pitches are we going to let this dope throw down the middle of the plate on first pitches before we make him pay for it? If you let any MLB pitcher get ahead in a count, even a marginal one, he's going to be successful.
  13. I gotta figure that Hardy should have moved over once Braun screwed the play up, but instead he went back after the baseball. In an ideal world, Braun would have turned around and gone back, instead letting Hardy play the ground ball.
  14. What was Hunter doing? Better yet, why didn't Morneau at least sneak off the bag to make the Brewers think about that? And even moreso, why did Braun try to make that play? Hardy was in a better position. But, yeah, he's got some range on him.
  15. Seriously, guys. He's freaking awful. Stop making him look like Verlander.
  16. I've seen Scott Baker pitch twice since that game in Milwaukee. There's no way he should be allowed to shut us down. Zero. The guy flat-out stinks.
  17. Was Castillo walking to second base? If not, how the heck did Estrada throw him out?
  18. Oh, super, Ann Carroll. Thank goodness I have the mute button employed. I'm hoping that we get a good turnout of visiting fans this weekend. Anyone have any guesses on how many it'll be?
  19. I'm okay with the lineup, but when did Gwynn get sent down?
  20. So we've scored runs on a balk and a wild pitch? We better win!
  21. Works for me. Anything but DHing Gross for three more games, because I'm repulsed at the very thought.
  22. I'm with Russ, but I'd prefer that Weeks go into the seventh spot for a couple weeks after he comes back. I'll avoid use of the word "pressure", but I think it plays into my thinking. Let him come back and work a few quality ABs before you stick him in the leadoff spot again. For now... Hart rf Hardy ss Braun 3b Fielder 1b Hall cf Menchkins lf Estrada c Counsenino 2b Easy out p This weekend, with three righties throwing for Minnesota... Hart rf/dh Hardy ss Braun 3b Fielder 1b Hall cf Jenkins lf Estrada c Counsell 2b Gwynn rf/dh
  23. If my math is correct, the Brewers are one win or single losses by the Cubs and Cardinals away from clinching a first-place run of 62 days. That would be a franchise record.
  24. Again, what part of "we don't have any hits" (last night), "we need 22 hits to beat the worst team in baseball in 12 innings to avoid a sweep" (Sunday night), or "we have 12 baserunners in six innings but have scored one run" (tonight) screams "Happy, happy, joy, joy"? I've done plenty else for a long while. I stayed away from this place for long stretches of this 10-20 skid, and did it again Saturday, Sunday, and most of last night's game. Guess what? This team still stinks, and I still get mad at them. It might help you to not have to read my constant negativity, but it does me no good. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/happy.gif
