  1. Fondy is right. This isn't the year to blow things up. Only one year removed from a nice run. Have to give this squad one more run before we sell off; my view.
  2. Be a real nice win tonight, given the last time out and what the rest of the weekend could have in-store.
  3. If there would be expansion, I'd say it would need to be in the NY/NJ area. A third team there would spread that market out a bit, "let capitalism work its magic" was stated earlier in the thread. I'm Ok with 2 more playoff teams as it gives more playoff opportunity, and that is good for the smaller market teams. The idea floated out there of each team getting a 3-game bye is an interesting thought. Not sure what their position would be now, but I read something years ago that the player's union would support the drop of the DH if roster sizes went up by one and there was some sort of assurance on salaries.
  4. I enjoy a guy that seems to love what he does, lives in the moment an expresses himself...helps that he is also coming up clutch, too...
  5. Telly and Davey in the booth, Davey Lopes doing the on-field work.
  6. If David would want to come to back-up first, PH and be a veteran leader; sure. I'd suspect that is not real likely.
  7. Total guess here, but I wonder if Tulo would have signed the team-friendly contact, then the long-term commitment that Ryan has made. No way to really tell, but all-in-all I'm glad that we have Ryan Braun. In '05 I wanted Zimmerman, so shows you what I know...
  8. I'd be pleased with two against the Reds. Not getting swept in Miami would also be nice. The starting pitching on this team "should" be good enough to avoid anything really silly happening.
  9. Good point on Yo. I'd like to see him go deeper, but he might always be a high pitch load guy.
  10. What Logan said. I know I'm out on a limb, but I'd like our best hitters grouped together and at the top of the order. Let the bottom three spots be a "black hole." Then we could do crazy type of things like PH late in the game at those spots, as needed.
  11. Reyes could be had, but I don't know how the 'crew could compete with other offers. We are what we are, and that might be one legit regular short...
  12. Good point. I thought the same about Casey. He might as well stand on 3rd.
  13. The Cards rally here is something you would find in girls softball.
  14. I freaked at first, but then realized that Go-Go was going to be the third out anyway.
