  1. 2002 'Crew or the 2010 Pirates...which team would you follow if your family's life depended upon it?
  2. From what I hear the NWL will contract Battle Creek and this team will replace it. Thus ending the "Michigan Experience."
  3. BrewCrewRising wrote: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- And then when Bud Selig was going to contract the Twins and they started winning, I thought I would root for them because I thought they were getting screwed. This is so far from the truth. I'm sick of Twins fans blaming Selig for that. Sorry for the tangent. Nov 6, 2001: At a quarterly meeting in Chicago baseball owners vote 28–2 in favor of contracting, or the folding and buyout, of two of the league's 30 teams before the 2002 season. The teams are yet to be determined, but the leading candidates are the Minnesota Twins and the Montreal Expos. Thanks for re-directing this BrewCrew...this false narritive that the Twins have built around this event is hard to stomach. They should have had Bud there to throw out the first pitch on the opening day for helping get Target Field even built. This is one of the reasons I'd never be a Twins fan.
  4. The Rangers are going to be hard to deal with come playoff time. They are better then I thought.
  5. Please! Be best for them and the 'Crew.
  6. I'll just say thanks, Bud. All in all, I think as an owner and commissioner you did your best for Milwaukee and MLB. Hard to ask for more then that.
  7. this is a hard one for me as I have a high ability to feel petty hatred and spite when it comes to sports. 1. Cubs. 2. Twins...I really could put them first, but sort of kind of don't quite have the same burning rage towards them when they do well as the Cubs inspire. 3. Cards (obvious reasons)...and the 82 series. 4. I'll go off the board for Baltimore; remnants of the battles with them in the early 80's. 5. Braves, instilled by my Grandfather (I can't carry a candle to his ability to hate sports teams). 6. Reds, never got into the Big Red Machine. WLW is too Northern Kentucky for me. Their fans bug me. The Bengals bug me, I project it on to the Reds. 7. Rockies. I hated that stupid Blake Street Bombers crap. I still think that franchise is annoying. Dante going there and that Crillio trade. 8. Red Soxs/Yankees. As stated by others. 9. Kane County. I lived in Wausau when they were the Timbers and was there when they moved. I look them up from time to time and take joy in their losses. I understand now why they had to relocate, but my youthful rage still lingers.
  8. Selfish reasons...but if the 'Crew doesn't get OKC...I'm pulling hard for Vegas.
  9. "They usually have a cart full of name brand food and wearing name brand clothes. They usually have Coach purses and Tiffany jewelry." ...the emotion is understood, but I'm going to question that "usually" someone on assistance has these items.
  10. Wins are cool. I don't understand this team, but whatever.
  11. Dwight Evans was a heck of a player...and he swore he saw UFO's. Would Pete Rose deserve some consideration, too?
  12. Johnny LeMaster http://www.baseball-refer...layers/l/lemasjo01.shtml
  13. I would and have. Consider it like internal exile.
  14. I was in the Metrodome the day Prince hit the inside-the-park home run. Tied the game in the 9th then lost it in the bottom half. Seeing the Q throw a complete game shutout...that's impressive.
  15. Guys that can't play and fail; you can live with that. Players that seem to have the talent to be sucessful and can't/won't/don't drive you crazy!
  16. Love the one your with; Gomez.
  17. I think Keith's new team and the 04 'Crew are/were about even in the talent level.
  18. ...and Keith Ginter has a .800 OPS.
  19. If he adds a knuckleball, I'm down with it.
  20. The little I know in this area (I coached fast-pitch SB for 8 years, not baseball) is the two-seamer is hard to control and hard to learn too control.
  21. I get the majority for Ruth, only counter I'll put up is the 3 years of projected numbers that Ted missed out on due to WWII. Prime of his career.
  22. I'll go contrary and vote for Ted Williams. The 3 years he missed for the war cost him 100 HR and 600 hits.
  23. Augie makes an interesting point on Manny.
