  1. I am becoming more and more of a fan of trading for Jason Bartlett. Solid D, we should be able to get him for minimal return, and he would be a solid 7 or 8 hitter for us.
  2. ESPN's rumor central had a piece about Granderson and suggested a Granderon and jackson for prospects swap with Milwaukee. Not sure what they would want but maybe Gamel, Salome, Hart, etc. could be a start. Not positive where granderson fits with us though.
  3. I would even expand it a little. I really like Toronto's young pitchers. I would do a Gamel/Hardy for Rzepczynski/Cecil deal. Toronto has Encarnacion at 3rd now but I have seen rumors that he is headed for the OF.Toronto could still roll out Halladay, Marcum, Romero, Richmond/Mills/Purcey/McGowen/Litsch (when he gets back from TJ surgery). You would get 2 young cost controlled pitchers who pitched reasonably well in the tough AL East and who both project as possible 2/3 types. Maybe sign a Justin Duchscherer to an incentive laden 1 or 2 year deal. Yogo Duchscherer Parra Rzepczynski Cecil That is young, cheap, very talented rotation, with the ability to get better and better the next couple years. You also have depth in Suppan, and possibly Bush, or Looper, as well as the AAA arms like Jones, Cody, Butler, etc. and our everyday lineup would not really be hurt at all.
  4. With every passing hour and no further communication I see less and less chance my source was correct, and i see my "breaking news" credibility slowly sailing off into the distance.
  5. Hart has been a full time regular now for almost 3 seasons. He is what he is. There is no more upside. Also swisher and hart are decidedly not the same player. Hart is a free swinger, swisher is not, which fits in much better with the yankee's philosophy. As for major league ready SS's on the Yankee's. They have Ramiro Pena, who is already up in the majors. He is a defensive whiz who won't hit as much as Hardy but to say they don't have a semi-viable replacement for Jeter is wrong. Sorry Nate I just don't see anyway the Yankee's have any interest in Hart. They can easily get his production level from a mid level FA for 8 million a year and not have to give anything up. Or they can just keep Swisher who has been better than Hart this year.
  6. Well I think we all kind of assumed Hardy had been traded or something was in the works once the news broke, but I wasn't going by assumption. I was told something and reported it as fact. Big difference. However my information was wrong it appears, and I have heard nothing more today from the person who told me about the "supposed" Hardy trade, so I have to assume the info was wrong, hence my attrition.
  7. Yes, right now it appears my first foray into "reporting" has gone about as well as my attempts with the ladies. Crash and burn. Kaukana, Melvin lies all the time. Usually when he says something is NOT happening it usually means it is. bobskube, Yeah I know, I have been around this site for about 5 years, I just chose not to bring my post count numbers to the new forum when it switched over, and haven't posted much in the past 2 years. I am aware of the harsh critics and I have had info before that I have chosen not to post which turned out to be true, so I decided to run with this one. Next time I will be 100% sure before I write it. Not that anyone will believe me next time.
  8. Nate, There is no chance the Yankee's trade Hughes for that package. Also Swisher has been better than Hart this year. Hardy to the Yankees could have some merit, but I would think something more along the lines of Kennedy or someone of his caliber would be included. Hughes is pretty close to untouchable for them.
  9. I was told it was for paperwork reason's essentially, so Escobar can get here as soon as possible to play tonight. Like I said before, I am not 100% on the info so please don't take it as gospel. The person I got this from has been right before and wrong before but is generally reliable.
  10. At the risk of killing my own credibility on this site, I will just say that Hardy has been traded. I don't know to who yet or for what but Escobar is on his way to milwaukee. I am about 85% confident in this info. If I know more I will let everyone know.
  11. Top of the 5th. 2-2, Koshansky with a 2 run home run. Great throw by Escobar to salome who hangs on after a collision at home for the 3rd out in the 5th. Side note: It was the pitcher who attempted to run over Angel. Update: Dillard doing dillardy things 6 inn. 2 ER, 7 H, 1 K, Heether just untied the game with a 2 run HR off starter JD Martin, and Katin follows with a double Update #2: Dillard gets in trouble in the 7th, and Johnson can't bail him out. 5-4 Albuquerque for the moment Update #3: Bourgeois with an HR to tie it up right down the line. Tim Wallach with a fairly lengthy argument. Patterson follows with a bunt single that almost made it through the infield, and Escobar is hit by a pitch (though Nashville's announcers said it sounded like all bat), Kohansky now up in a tie game with runners on 2nd and 3rd (Escobar just stole 2nd). Update #4: This is a wierd game. A passed ball on an intentional ball 4 to Gamel, allowing Escobar to move up following a Salome sac fly to give nashville the lead. This inning alone there has been 2 umpire/manager arguments, a bunt that only stayed out of RF due to a diving stop, at least 2 hit batters and 5 runs scored. Katin now up with the bases loaded following Heether wearing one. Update #5: Katin K's. JESUS TIME!!!! Top of the 8th 6-5 Sounds. Update #6: Sounds win. 2 inning save for Colome. Salome on base 3 times, Gamel's struggles continue
  12. Twobrewers, I would say almost all season ticket holders or those who would buy season tickets are either very big brewer fans and thus most likely knowledgeable about the team and the position it is in or corporations and those purchase decisions have more to do with the company's performance and not the brewers. Miller Park has become a "scene" so to speak. People aren't going to stop coming if we trade a few players. I am in my late 20's and Miller Park is generally considered a place to be to party on weekends if the crew is in town. I don't think that is going to stop if the brewers trade some players this year. It may affect next year a bit as far as enthusiasm goes but people still going to attend games. I really don't think you would see a big dropoff if hoffman, cameron, looper, hart, and hardy are traded. Just from casual conversations outside of Suppan, Hart may be the most hated brewer out there. I don't think I have heard one person casually call him good or praise him this year.
  13. Rotoworld is reporting Mr. Erik Bedard is going to miss his start tommorrow with "slight" shoulder inflammation. I am just going to hope that the inflamation is bogus and that Bedard is on his way to Milwaukee
  14. The injured Rockies relief pitcher? I hope you were going for Clay Bucholtz
  15. After reading Kenny Williams comments about adding speed and defense, I wonder if a Hart for Dye trade would work. Dye has hit RH pitchers really well this year, and in my opinion is a big upgrade. I am excited to hear what Melvin has cooking
