  1. Weeks so far in September is batting .300 and OPSing at over 1.000. Although many players have stepped up for this recent push, but I think Rickie has been one of the biggest players to step up. Good to see Peralta start off the game really well and pretty efficiently.
  2. I'm following on Gameday and the only thing I know is that it went from 4-3 Mets to 4-2 Mets
  3. I have never found a way to accurately describe Rickie...until now
  4. Well, I'll wish you a happy birthday...possibly belated. Thanks, it actually was the 10th
  5. I'm glad the Brewers are able to jump out to a quick lead. With Hudson's success lately, I don't particularly feel comfortable playing catch-up tonight.
  6. I work for a very small company (6 FT employees) and this is 2 years in a row that they barely acknowledge my birthday. Everybody in the past has at least gotten a card and a small gift card. This year like last year, I received nothing. Now granted I'm not a big birthday person, but still.
  7. random stat: Rickie is 8th among all active players in HBP and is only behind Carlos Quentin in HBP per game (for players with over 2 seasons of games)...Rickies averaging a HBP every 8.2 games I love the early game lead but coming from the heels of last night, I'm nowhere near optimistic about this game.
  8. I was just thinking the same thing. It looks like the Pirates as a team strike out quite a bit. According to bref, Pit has the second most strikeouts in the MLB. They'll probably will take the lead after today.
  9. Fiers is 2nd for rookies with 9.64 k/9 next to Yu Darvish...not too shabby so far
  10. just in case everyone was looking for someone to blame for their blood pressure spike the past hour or so. heh, I told my friend that when the Brewers were up 9-2 that I was glad I was wrong. I'm also glad I didn't predict an extra inning heartbreaker I hope Wolf(tarras) can give us the sweep and continue this momentum
  11. Despite the 2 run bomb, I have a good feeling about today's game, When I went to bed yesterday down 2 runs I had a feeling too that they were going to pull it out and they did. I smell a walkoff coming.
  12. /rant I've always accepted that the four letter network is going to cater to the bigger audience which means focusing primarily on the teams on either coast as the Brewers game gets 20 seconds of SportsCenter and some Yankee gets 10 minutes of why he's great because he signed a few balls for some little leaguers. I can deal with that, there are plenty of other media sources out there, but they can never tout that they are impartial or unbiased. It's unfortunate that the 'contest' has taken kind of a mean turn. Miller Park probably doesn't quite warrant overall #1 status, but neither does it warrant the scorn that the four-letter network is throwing its way. I totally agree, Hawing. I wish another source would do this, kind of like how BF is doing it except nation wide without all baloney. /endrant I unfortunately haven't had the opportunity to see any stadium outside of Wisconsin, but I've heard from many non native Wisconsinites that they prefer Miller Park for reason X or Y.
  13. Before the 5th he was cruising. He kept alot of Pirates guessing with 8 strikeouts.
  14. Martin said to McCutchen, "Not in my house"...great start by Fiers
  15. I was at the game yesterday and I wanted to add a few things. First, Weeks I think had one of his best games of the season. 2 hits, 2 walks and 2 stolen bases. I hope this is a sign of good things to come. Not only did Conrad get a standing O when he hit that blast into the beerpen, but he always got a pretty good ovation when he hit the sac fly. Alot of Brewer fans were happy to see him get on the board. Last, Cody Ransom, what a play in the sixth when he snagged the shot up the middle and flipped to Weeks. That was unbelievable.
  16. Minor League Callup vs Minor League Callup. I'm predicting a 10-8 shootout or a 2-1 pitchers duel with only one run given up by a starter. Nothing else in between
  17. Despite the sarcastic connotation the word gets in this forum, I think tonight's win was a very gritty performance. Come on Brew Crew, lets get some momentum going!
  18. has thousands and thousand of females declaring themselves wife/girlfriend/S.O. of Braun.
  19. Whoever turned it in may have found it empty. Person A helps himself to your money and tosses your wallet on the ground. Person B finds your wallet and turns it in. Person A = Criminal loser. Person B = Good samaritan. Just a possibility. which begs the question: do you still give $20 to the dude who found your wallet on the off chance he found it and didn't steal anything? but i agree with you, i think someone who steals cash from it isn't also going to turn around and track you down to hand it back. it's more effort than any criminal is going to make, plus it would add the extra guilt of seeing the face of the man whose money you'd just stolen. I think you're right that its most likely a different person who took the money, but whether the person who turned it in actually took the money or not, he would probably say he didn't so I'd be left to surmise anyways. I could track the thief by the 2 dollar bill he stole that I'd been hanging onto for years
  20. Not sure where I should post this, but I lost my wallet the other day, and fortunately somebody turned it in and I got it back. I was going to give the person some money for returning the wallet, but it seems whomever found it, took the liberty of giving himself a reward from my wallet earlier.
  21. Holy Lineup change, Batman... This seems like a game that will be 9-2 one way or the other.
