  1. From July 1st to Sept 8th, the Brewers went from 6.5 game lead in the division to being behind 6 games in the division. They dropped 12.5 games in 2 months. Someone should be fired. That is an epic collapse. And when something like this occurs, it is usually because pitching is atrocious. That really isn't the reason here. The main reason is this teams approach to hitting his laughable. The other thing that is laughable is bring coaches back like Sedar and the Narron's and expecting different results. This coaching staff is pathetic and I would clean house 100%. The only one I would consider bringing back is Kranitz, who has done a good job as pitching coach. But the Narron's can be walked to the door today along with RRR for all I care.
  2. End of the season. Even a sweep of the Pirates doesn't put us in pole position. Reality sets in. Fire RRR. Changes need to happen and Reynolds gaff is the exclamation point on why
  3. Pirates stupidly try to steal in first and gift sox an out. Workman is terrible
  4. Good game Mike. Just some bad luck. Hopefully are bats come awake
  5. Sadly, the Red Sox seem to be in tank mode. Their best chance to win is tonight with Buchholz on the mound. Bad news is he is facing Liriano who has been great in the 2nd half. Tomorrow, the Sox throw out Brandon Workman who is downright horrendous. 10.95 ERA in his last 3 starts and is 1 - 9 on the season with a 5.27 ERA. He faces Cole who, since coming back in August has 4 quality starts in 5 outings. So umm, ya - hopefully Buchholz has a gem and we somehow beat Wainwright.
  6. lol ... Nelson hasn't pitched since Saturday - so he will most likely come in if one gets away. I hope Fiers can lock in again. We need a huge game. Go Brewers!
  7. Some good tweets @joe_block: Yadier Molina hadn't allowed 2 stolen bases against him IN A GAME since May 28 @joe_block: #Brewers RBIs tonight Gerardo Parra Matt Clark Hector Gomez Parra joined the organization July 31 Others are September call-ups @MikeVassallo13: Congrats to Hector Gomez on his first Major League RBI, which gives the #Brewers a 3-2, 12-inning win in St. Louis.
  8. Why does BBref say Gomez was traded by Brewers to the Angels in March 2014 for PTBNL. Was he traded and cut and came back? http://www.baseball-reference.com/players/g/gomezhe01.shtml?mobile=false
  9. WOW! I thought it was a horrible idea to steal 3rd but maybe not ... K rod time! Yay. Everyone's favorite 20 minutes
  10. I know it's popular to bag on Braun and his thumb injury as certainly caused him to be less-than-Braun-like this year, but really? If he were to have gotten a base hit in extra innings, you'd mock him for being "anti-clutch?" Like a guy sucks if he can't dial up a homer on demand? +1000. League average the last I checked is a .700 OPS. Braun, in a down year, is around .800. What a bum. Some would probably say he's been struggling for a month or better. Just an awful hitter. At least compare him to only RF's - where he would be 12th / 10th / 6th in AVG / OBP / SLG, respectively. He has not been that drastically above league average in getting base hits or getting on base. And no one is calling him a bum, but he has been pretty average, unlike his past.
  11. Fair point - poorly worded on my end. Just saying his single would be an inning too late. I don't expect anyone to hit HRs on demand. But a base hit from one of your best players in the most critical spot of the season would have been nice. But as you said a single an extras isn't being "anti clutch" - just poorly worded
  12. And they have the top of their order so umm ya. Probably going to end quickly
  13. And segura with a weak ground out. Very surprised - BLUE
  14. And as we all know, Parra should be starting every game. Nice stroke
