  1. They need to do a cardboard picture of Wendy Selig-Prieb in the clubhouse. Or sacrifice a chicken
  2. I like the scene of Maldy chatting with Fiers - "dude I clocked a guy cold out - it's all good bud"
  3. Bruce? Never would have guessed it http://www.baseball-reference.com/players/f/fiersmi01.shtml?mobile=false
  4. Really glad we waited to September to see if Clark's 1,000+ AAA at bats of .865 OPS could translate into success up here. Let it all out Matt - they can't hold ya back now ... Keep hitting kid
  5. I hope this kickstarts something. Great quote! Thanks! I hope so! Go brewers!! Go Fiers!
  6. "OK, we won a game yesterday. If we win today, it's called "two in a row". And if we win again tomorrow, it's called a "winning streak"... It has happened before!" - Lou Brown (The late James Gammon)
  7. I agree to the extent of lets not get carried away like he is all of a sudden going to dominate for ever but he has been playing well and I think we should ride the hot hand. And for the next week we are playing all RHP. His career splits vs RHP are: .288 / .336 / .426 / .762 which are greater than Davis vs RHP .254 / .317 / .482 / .799 And certainly better than Braun has been since the midway point of this year.
  8. Cueto is pitching today thus the Brewers miss facing him. That is great news.
  9. This is where I am at. Parra should be starting almost every day. Taking a look at probable pitchers, the Brewers next lefty they face is Locke @ Pitt. We have 7 games between today and next Friday. In reality, Parra starts them all. Then play historic matchups with Braun and Davis. If Braun hasn't fared well vs the pitcher start Davis and if Braun has done well start Braun. But I don't see how you sit a guy who is one of your hottest hitters.
  10. Adam McCalvy says Braun will be back to full duty today. But my question is should he be benched? Or should Khris Davis be benched? Because Parra is hot. Last 28 Days: Braun 84 PA / .241 / .286 / .405 / .691 - Braun has been horrendous for the past 14 days 212 / .278 / .303 / .581 Davis: 83 PA / .247 / .325 / .425 / .750 Parra: 64 PA / .361 / .391 / .492 / .882 Either way you slice it. Parra needs to play everyday. He is hot. So it is either Khris or Braun that should sit down.
  11. I mean those guys are not even in our top 25 ... Heck, they didn't even get honorable mention viewtopic.php?f=64&t=31859
  12. @Brewers: RHP Kevin Shackelford and RHP Barrett Astin have been sent to Cincinnati to complete the 8/31 trade for RHP Jonathan Broxton.
  13. But what if he is a guy who just figured it out late. See Matt Holiday Matt Holiday - AA numbers - 1145 PA / .271 / .348 / .403 / .750 Holiday OPS'd over .800 in 2 of his 6 minor league seasons (rookie ball - 138 PA) and an injury shortened A ball year (296 PA). His other 4 full seasons never produced over an .800 OPS. If you look at his A ball through AA numbers, he was a run of the mill player. But yet in the Majors he has never finished a year with an OPS south of .800. It happens. And what I am saying is Scooter has been better than advertised. All I heard was "he only hits singles", "he doesn't play good D", and "he can't hit lefties" .... Well so far the scouts are 0-2 as he hits more than singles and plays good D. So lets see if the kid can't hit lefties. If not, at least we tried it.
  14. Ya, I know. The part that is frustrating is you are probably right. Doug will view that is a top priority. and to me it just isn't. Oh well.
  15. No, No, No and No. I am sorry for being harsh but saying Scooter needs a platoon mate drives me nuts. I don't care what his major league numbers are. I am just not on the same page as a lot on this board. IMO - Scooter gets all of his AB's next year. He has EARNED it. Regardless what we do, "go for it!" (You know Doug wants to) or re-build (majority here wants to) - Scooter should start facing lefty's. We need to see what the kid can do. He has been awesome this year. Here is what Doug will do this off season: 1. Re-tool bullpen. (always happens) 2. Find some washed up 1B (AGAIN) or maybe he throws money at someone like Michael Cuddyer. 3. Find some infield bench bat. Doug is going for it again. His reasoning: We were great for 150 days. We just need a little more juice to put us over the bump. I just see a re-build as about a 1% probability and that probability is solely dependent on Doug being canned. So if Doug stays, re-build isn't going to happen.
  16. Because he is garbage ... I wonder if RRR has the stones to make Broxton the closer.
  17. So after reading everyone's comments; my question now is; so if Mark A doesn't make a change - do you want a new owner? Because if you don't make a change this offseason, then when will you? My take is - Mark is in it for the profit thus I don't see any way Melvin gets canned. Maybe he will surprise me, but I just don't see him making a move to can Melvin. Melvin should can RRR for just making horrible decisions and basically wasting a season away that you were in first place near the end of August.
  18. Come on Krush. We need to put an end to this. DP are you with me!
  19. Ya - that would be great. Not sure when Randy Quaid showed up (Major League II anyone) - but I want to hear what he is saying
  20. I wonder if k-rod can pitch for someone in the HR derby next year. He would be a real sleeper
