  1. I agree it has to do with the amount of home runs they hit. We do hit a lot, that's why I figured you would have to look at the percentage. When fielder hits 40 or 50 HR's sure, many will be solo shots. Especially because they pitch him differently when guys are on base but I am just curious to how it looks for other teams.
  2. I have always wondered, based on percentage, how many of the brewers home runs are solo shots, 2 - run, 3-run, and grand slams. Then compare it to the rest of the major league teams. Is it just me or are we kings of the solo shot? I really only watch the Brewers and a little sunday night baseball too, so I may just have tunnel vision ... Maybe the Rays or Rangers or Braves hit way more solo shots than we do but to me it seems like the brewers opponents hit more multi run shots than solo shots. Again, maybe it's just me ... figured someone out there may be able to find this info.
  3. http://msn.foxsports.com/...-fight-in-nl-east-061510 Rosenthal says the crew should target the Mariners as a trade partner as they would be more inclined to trade for Major League Talent than prospects. Would they trade Lee for Hart straight up? Hart has 1.5 years left and Lee is a FA after this year, I guess that holds some value. Not sure what kind of prospect package Lee would get for a half year rental. Obviously the CC trade comes to mind. Hart wouldn't get that much in a trade for prospects ... I am not sure how good the prospects the Mariners gave up were to aquire Lee (pitcher Phillippe Aumont, outfielder Tyson Gillies and pitcher J.C. Ramirez) but I can't imagine they would take Hart straight up for Lee.
  4. I am sure this has happened before but the Brewers, if Braun picks up the slack, would be on pace for the triple crown by committee. Braun - AVG, McGehee - RBI's, Hart - HR's. I wonder how often this has been done before? I could see a team with two players representing the 3 categories but 3 different players holds some uniqueness. And I know it's only June http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  5. When this happens, the clearing of room on the 25 man better be Suppan and Hoffman. If either Braddock or Axford get sent down, I will be one upset season ticket holder.

  7. you know, I thought the same thing. The only thing I could come up with is just to keep the routine ... But I am fuming too.
  8. I am lost on why Lucroy didn't get to hit ... Fire Macha. He is clueless.
  9. Would you put Lucroy in the 2 hole? I think with him you want to put him in the best position to succeed. I would hate to see a Gamel repeat of last year.
  10. That is a good point. I just don't know who that person is either. The more I think about it the more I feel like there is absolutely no way the Rays trade Hellickson. Even straight up. He will be in their starting 5 next year. You can never have to much pitching. In fact I would probably just cross the Rays off the trade list now that I think about it. Even the Rangers. They have Smoak, so what do they need fielder for. I guess you could move him to DH but that lowers Fielders value even more. The bad thing for the Brewers is there isn't a good match. (It's even a bad thing for Fielder as there are not a whole lot of teams who need his services) Maybe trade Fielder for Overbay and some Jays prospects - Just to make it go full circle as Overbay was moved to make room for Fielder http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  11. I am excited for Brewers baseball tonight!!!! Yes I said it coming off a 1-9 last 10 stretch - I am excited!!!
  12. I would ... if no one claims him than who cares.
  13. Get rid of him
  14. While the Brewers are going no where fast and it is looking more and more that with our current pitching staff we have no chance of competing this year or next, what a better time then to speculate where Prince is heading. (As all of the current first place teams are in the top half of team ERA, it shows that having the 7th ranked team batting average, as the Brewers currently do, it does you next to no good without any pitching. Therefor i really don't see any trade of value netting anything less than pitching.) So what about trades like: On Baseball America, The Rays have 4 pitchers in the top 70 (Jeremy Hellickson, Wade Davis, Matt Moore, Alex Colome) and the Rangers have 3 pitchers in the top 42 (Neftali Feliz, Martin Perez, Tanner Scheppers) … Could you get two of the pitchers in a deal with either team? I know Feliz is being used in relief with the rangers so I would expect that's a no. We need starters. But maybe asking for 2 starters is to much. I would hate to see Prince go but it's inevitable isn't it? We really need better pitching. I mean look at the Rays and Padres. Their team batting average is under .250. They each only have 2 everyday players batting over .270. That is ridiculous. But they are in first. Obviously we will see what it looks like in September but team ERA typically tells the story. What are your idea's?
  15. Ned Yost was good for this team when they were young. As they are getting older I just don't see the laid back coaching style that him and Macha both have, to be effective. I think they need a coach with a little more flair, a little more fire. When Weeks makes his second error in the same game, you pull him on the spot. When Gerut gets thrown out trying to steal 3rd base with our hottest hitter at the plate, you bench him. When you bring in LaTroy Hawkins in the 8th inning and he walks his first 2 batters, he's done. I don't see this team playing better when their own manager accepts mediocrity. So when Macha gets canned who should step in Randolph, Svuem or someone else? And I would add, if it is Svuem, that most likely means Robin Yount would be back as a coach.
  16. Ah yes you did ... I missed that one. Good call. I vote John Briggs for GM http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  17. As we are almost to the middle of May, I figured I would take a look at their stats even though it is only 7 starts for most (I included a few additional pitchers that others suggested) Name W-L ERA G GS IP IP/9 WHIP H/9 HR/9 BB/9 SO/9 SO/BB Penny 3-3 1.7 7 7 47.2 6.74 1.112 8.5 0.4 1.5 5.1 3.38 Garland 4-2 1.71 7 7 42 6.00 1.214 6.4 0.6 4.5 5.4 1.19 Duchscherer 2-1 2.89 5 5 28 5.6 1.357 8.4 1 3.9 5.8 1.5 Harden 2-1 3.53 7 7 35.2 5.03 1.514 7.3 1.3 6.3 8.6 1.36 Sheets 2-3 6.38 7 7 36.2 5.17 1.773 11.3 1.5 4.7 5.9 1.26 Davis 1-4 7.56 7 7 33.1 4.73 1.98 13 1.1 4.9 8.6 1.78 Bedard - Has not played So far JohnBriggs had a great suggestion with Penny ... But at this point I am convinced that Duncan could put me on the mound and figure out a way to make it work.
  18. I was visiting family 2 year's ago and went to a Yankee's / Rays game in Tampa. (It was the game where MLB had their very first review, off of A-Rod's HR) anyhow that is one of the worst stadiums I have ever seen. I would rather have County Stadium back then get that stadium. The stadium was run down ... the grass/turf looked horrible. And on top of it, it's located in the hood. I carried my keys in my hands on the way back to the car in case I got jumped. Even with the Yankee's in town and from what I hear a lot of Yankee fans around Tampa, the stadium wasn't even close to being sold out. I don't see how the Rays don't look into moving. You have a great team in a dump of a stadium and a horrible fan base. And for the Greinke trade comments, we gave up our #1 prospect (LaPorta) with our #4 (Brantley) and got a half a year of Sabathia. Our #1 and #4 now is Lucroy and Gamel. Then you add in the fact it isn't a half year rental and you will need to up the ante.
  19. Hoffman needs a nickname ... we had turnblow and gagme and now ...
  20. I agree markedman5. I just cannot stand "well he is our 8th inning man, well he is our 9th inning man" ... I go with who is hot. Hawkins just struck out 2 of 3 hitters, I would have left him in. And then they say, well he isn't used to pitching 2 innings straight. Whatever. When you are hot, you are hot. Quick taking pitchers our just because it isn't their "role"
  21. I went with Joy Farms Bus when I was the best man for my buddies bachelor party. They beat all prices I could find. They let us drink on the bus. Didn't have to clean up at the end of the night (wasn't like we trashed it either though - but I am sure there were some cans littered on the floor.) They picked us up from my house and stopped at park and rides on the way home to let people out. Driver did a great job.
