  1. Must have starters get to 100 pitches. Cannot go to the pen before that. If i do that my brain will explode. RRR logic
  2. He was horrible long before the situation with his son. Don't get me wrong, I feel horrible for him, and completely understand that he may no longer be mentally there this season. Not sure turning a blind eye to the fact he has been unwatchable with the bat this season is the right answer.
  3. Herrera>Segura right now. He needs to play more the rest of the way. Hopefully Jean can right the ship this offseason.
  4. Funny seeing Josh Johnson in the dugout for the Padres. There's a guy who has fleeced millions from multiple MLB teams in the past few years.
  5. Reynolds should have tagged out van Slyke running to third Edit, I guess just getting outs is key right now
  6. Van Slyke is a guy I was wishing the brewers would have targeted to play 1B. Not sure if he played there at all, but seems to be a good bat that will just waste away on LA with their stacked OF.
  7. Nelson needs to start throwing something other than the fastball. Wish he had a solid secondary get me over pitch.
  8. 1.) All-star game is exhibition only, and kill the HR derby. 2.) International players included in the draft. Can't stand that the teams with the deepest pockets get the top international talent. 3.) 100% revenue sharing. 4.) Leagalize PEDs. If it is legal on a national level for the "common man" to consume a substance it should be able to be consumed by a player if they choose. Each team would have its own pharmacist/doctor to assure there is no abuse and they are taken responsibly. 5.) Line up adjusted to only 8 batters who play a position in the field. I can stand watching pitchers flail at the plate about as much as I can stand watching one dimensional non-athletic meatheads who get paid millions for stepping in the batters box 4-5 times a game. Why not just eliminate both?
  9. Don't get me wrong I like Scooter, but generally when you struggle in the minors you don't figure out when you get to the bigs because the competition is much tougher. Not sure what point you are trying to make with the Segura comment. We are talking 2B platoon with Weeks right?
  10. Yep, and based on 74ABs vs LHP you're determined he's a failure. How about 6GSs last season vs. LHP and a .282/.349/.436/.785 line? LH SP WORLD BEATER!!! Problem is he's 1-21 vs LH RP who's job is to get LH Batters out. 3-15 vs. LH SP this season. Let a guy get ABs seeing a LH pitcher pitch and he'll improve. Seeing the Pitcher ONCE in maybe the entire season and he blows vs. LH Pitching. He's literally probably hasn't seen a LH Pitcher more than 4ABs all season. Dude, look at his minor league splits. He is horrible against LHP. That is a fact. Posted on last page of this thread. The Brewers are not in the position to let him try to figure it out.. They need proven production versus a hope and a prayer Scooter figures it out.
  11. I wouldn't say Brewerfan when it is really only about 3 members who frequent the IGT. Luc! Come on Braun give me some faith again.
  12. http://i723.photobucket.com/albums/ww232/Crewfan82/22bfc6a2-e0b6-4aec-84be-a310752ca750.jpg
  13. Hard to get a good break to first base when he is facing the opposite direction because he swings so damn hard. I kid, but part of me thinks that could actually be part of the reason he seems "a step slower."
  14. I'm glad I'm not watching this game. 2 hits 0 BB against Arrieta through 6 IP 68 pitches seems about right. Arrieta dealing or typical bad Brewers ABs the cause?
  15. That wasn't and isn't the question. It's a purely hypothetical question about how would this team look if they still had all the players they'd traded away. And you seem to be awfully dismissive of the players the Brewers traded away and I'm not sure why. None of them complained about the Brewers, none of them had a say, and they helped get the pitchers you so clearly are thrilled we got. Calling guys like Lorenzo Cain a nobody is just...ridiculous. Cain has a 3.1 WAR this year, is hitting over .300, 16 SB's, and a VERY good defender. That's a nobody? Alcides Escobar is a very good SS. He's an outstanding defender like Cain, and is hitting about .280/.315. Not Arod, but really-really valuable player. Odorizzi's "crime," here is that he hasn't yet put together a dominating season? HE'S 24 YEARS OLD!!! He was good as a 23 year old in the AL East and this year has a FIP of 3.46, has a K/9 of 10.06. What the heck do you want from him? Remember when you called Peralta an ace and said it was an "insult," to him to suggest that Jimmy Nelson is very similar to him? Well, sorry to break it to you, but last year when Peralta was 24(same age as Odorizzi) he wasn't nearly as good as Odorizzi. In fact THIS YEAR he's has a FIP of 4.20 to Odorizzi's 3.46, about 3.5 fewer K's per 9 IP. And then there's the one you did concede was alright, Brantley...who by the way has been more valuable than anyone on this Brewers team and is a borderline superstar. So...nobody said that we shouln't have made the trades, rather, how would this team look with the Players we traded away. But trying to diminish the value of every player we traded away....I don't get the point there. Does that make you feel better if the players we traded fail? Don't we still have a historic 2nd half from CC and a couple playoff runs? So no need to distort how good the players we traded actually are. I think this all goes back to your mantra about prospects are unproven(which is like saying water is wet to me, but I digress). Just because I don't think they're good doesn't mean I have something against them. There is nothing wrong with what I said about Odorizzi. He has yet to do anything of relevance. He's young and unproven. He could be good or could be a flash in the pan. Alcides Escobar is nothing special. I'll take Segura 100x over him. We've seen how good Segura can be. I think he'll be consistently good once he matures. Escobar was hyped to death and was supposed to be the next big thing. He's not bad, but he's nothing special either. I was a bit harsh on Cain. I take that back. He's still nowhere close to the guy the Brewers have in CF right now. These guys got the Brewers great players because of what they did in the minors. As minor league players they were great. Their perceived value was far greater than their actual production at the MLB level. I don't have much respect for Brewers prospects because they haven't earned it. I don't trust Brewers prospects, especially pitchers. They have fallen short of the hype often. I trust Cardinals prospects more because most of them are consistently good. Segura over Alcides 100x over? Alcides is one of the top defensive shortstops in the league. Segura is good on defense, but he can't touch Alcides. I think Segura has more of a chance of being that "flash in the pan" you mention.
  16. Me too, that nice quick swing, and the ball is out in a hurry. Good for Rickie! Still one of my favorite Brewers.
  17. Nope, he is not. He is one of the best players in the league when he is driving the ball to center and right center and showing some patience like he did last year and the first few months of this year. He is currently swinging himself into the ground at everything and showing zero eye at the plate. Since June 1st his OPS has fallen .116 and his slug has dropped from .572 to .492 during that time.
  18. Why go to third Gomez..... Geez. Happy about the lead, but come on GoGo.
