  1. You can still write, "He FALU down the first base line trying to beat out that weak grounder." Just an idea.
  2. So Will Smith's role is to only come in when the team is winning? Would you prefer he use Smith to get that last out, and then have to watch Kinzler in a high leverage situation tomorrow? Smith should have been used when he first came out to the mound, but instead he brings him in when the lead is lost. Are we now on the same page or do you have another question?
  3. That isn't on Rickie. Luc should have covered 1b. Obviously he is learning, but that is on him.
  4. Bad play by Segura, but Garza has to get out of that. Especially after he talked RR into keeping him in the game. Deja vu
  5. Hence, nearly unheard of rather than unchartered territory. Of the 50+ centerfielders that start primarily at CF over a given year for the 30 MLB clubs, I'd say 3% of them post big power numbers in the range of 40 home runs a year. I would say Gomez is in a 1% category when it come to physical ability and tools. There aren't many in the history of the game built like Gomez that have his speed and athleticism. I am not surprised to see him doing things that are nearly unheard of. He always had a ton of power. He just never started putting it all together until the last few years.
  6. You look at what GoGo is doing with the bat so far and then factor in the elite def you have to start talking MVP IF he keeps this going.
  7. You cant take your closer out. You must live and die with them. Blue
  8. Khris Davis is starting to come out of it. Driving the ball the other way and starting to take walks. Love it.
  9. Why do most scouts see Nelson as a #3-4? Is it because is hasn't developed that 3rd pitch?
  10. I like Jimmy too, but there isn't really any room for him at the moment. He will be an injury fill in for now, but I wouldn't mind seeing Melvin try shopping Marco at some point. If Jimmy isn't in the rotation he needs to be in Nashville growing his game as a starter.
  11. Just read comment in the last IGT about bullpen initiative, and that is why I am commenting here. How was the bullpen supposed to pick up the phone and ask RR what was going on when he was out on the mound getting Kintzler? There would be no need for a single one of those guys to be calling the dugout. Their entire careers they wait in the bullpen until they get a call from the dugout and then follow that direction. Nothing would make me expect them to do something different.
  12. His pre pitch routine is to touch his brim and then go down into that weird stance. His brim is just worn down exposing the material underneath.
  13. Any site track how many calls each ump has had reversed? Not that I know of. There has to be something out there though.
