  1. My plan was to not watch the game or listen on the radio because I was getting frustrated and needed a break. On my way home from dinner I decided to sneek a listen on the radio only to hear Ueker say, "Garcia perfect through 7 and 2/3." Shook my head, laughed, and turned it off.
  2. Like I said, I thought we would be around .500. We were without our all-star RF with basically nobody close to matching his production in his place. We were also without our starting catcher for a few weeks, one of our backend bullpen guys (Hawkins), and our true ace. Then we lost our setup man the first week. I don't see how you could expect anything more than .500. Not to mention we've lost a lot of very close games, especially late in the game, we could easily be a few games over .500. So I don't see a reason to panic. Also, we're not the Yankees or Red Sox, so our mentality should not be World Series or bust. Focus on making the playoffs and then anything can happen from there. All I said was I agree with the OP that the team is frustrating to watch right now. I am actually surprised we were ever above .500 the way this team is playing and with the injuries. I was trying to say that I guarantee no one expected this team to be where they are now or look like they do when the season, refering to spring training, started. As far as the world series or bust comment. When a team empties the farm for two starting pitchers and sells out for one year that is world series or bust in my opinion. We have the worst farm system in baseball now. If we don't make a run this year it isn't happening for a long time.
  3. Seriously? We're hovering around .500 while our best SP has been out all year, our second best SP has an ERA over 6, our all-star RFer is just now getting up to speed and we've (hopefully) got a very good #2 hitter back in the lineup regularly. If your on the ledge with this team on May 4th you may as well jump because you won't be making it til September Agree with the OP. When you "Ace" has an ERA over 6 and there is little to no production other than Braun and Price there is cause for concern. Pair that with the fact that it is basically World Series or bust this year, and you can see why some members of this board think they are under achieving. Yes it is early and yes we have some player coming back, but I see what the OP is saying. Did anyone hope we would be "hovering around .500" at this point when the season began?
  4. Very nice! Even though he stuck out that is one thing that you don't see often with this team. There are more single digit pitches thrown in a single inning for the opposition than double digit pitches thrown in an at-bat.
  5. I can see that. Not sure I agree with the move, but it's the only logical explanation I've seen so far.EDIT: Quote as to why Nieves what starting over Lucroy. Well that didn't work. Yo had a rough outing and Nieves is 0-3 with 2 left on.
  6. I'd like to see Greinke just come in and be the man. See what he is made of in his first start at least.
  7. But you can see he's not attacking hitters as he has in the past. I've seen more 4-pitch walks from him this year than in all year's combined, it seems. The problem is he pitches like a guy whose fastball tops out at 87 as opposed to 94-95 mph. I agree, he tries to nibble. He shouldn't need a guy who needs pin point command to get by. I remember outings last year and the year before where Yo didn't have his best stuff, but he kept battling, and kept them in the game. This year he just implodes, and seems almost scared to throw the ball over the plate.
  8. You're right Gomez is great and there isn't a guy named Nyjer Morgan on the bench. Nice Atlanta has... argument. You must be refering to Dan Uggla (All Star), Freddie Freeman (Top 10 propspect in baseball), and Alex Gonzalez right? I forgot those 3 play horrible defense in CF...oh wait none of them play in the outfield. Coooome On Man. I am right because Nyjer Morgan hasn't been on the bench for weeks! What better option is there in CF right now!? Counsell
  9. Come on offense. Pull one out. I don't like our chances, but at least the lead is only 3....
  10. you're right, Kotsay and Almonte are better options in CF, give me a break, Atlanta has 3 guys hitting .236 or under right now and they aren't half the defender Gomez is You're right Gomez is great and there isn't a guy named Nyjer Morgan on the bench. 11. strike outs have been down and BABIP is low right now at .275. Results haven't been there but he's better than his .233 avg right now. I wouldn't bat him 2nd but he's doing far from 'nothing' You didn't keep a straight face while typing that did you? .277 OBP and a .587 OPS is about as close to nothing as you can get and still be in the starting lineup let alone the 2 hole.
  12. Very true. Hopefully Gamel can learn to scoop balls, because that alone will make our defense a lot better. I think people fail to realize the importance of having a good defensive 1B, and tend to blame everything on the rest of the infield.I can't be 100% certain, but I think Gamel is leading the PCL in Fielding % for 1st Basemen. He most certainly won't be a defensive liability at first when he replaces Prince. He played a hell of the third as well. His issue was always with his throws more than his range and glove.
  13. I'd have to agree with this. Having watched him in games when he's pitching great, and games when he's pitching horrible, it's pretty obvious that this is the case.PrinceEat Meat,When I said that exact statment during Yo's last start asking if anyone else noticed this you said NO. Glad to see you a finally coming around.
  14. Right back at you. When has he ever shown he can be a #1. He has never thrown over 185 Innings and has never posted an ERA under 3.6. He has actually gotten worse every year since his rookie year in terms of ERA and WHIP. And his peripherals (K/9, BB/9, FIP, HR rate) have improved each of those years. Not in 2011 of course, but he's been better in each year of his career. If those peripherals translated into a lower ERA and WHIP that would be great, but in his case it hasn't. I could care less if he is stiking out more hitters because he is giving up more runs. Key numbers to judge a pitcher on are ERA and WHIP, and that has gotten worse. He may be giving up less walks, but if his WHIP is increasing that means he is giving up more hits. Yo is one of my favorite Brewers, but it doesn't mean I am blind to the fact he isn't improving and actually seems to be getting worse.

  16. I have come to the realization that Yovani will never become the stud he was supposed to become. He is maybe a solid #2 at best.
  17. Craig you have to swing the bat there man. Up 3-0 and then strike out looking. *Shaking my head*
  18. I was just going to comment on this. Leake is getting some very generous strike three calls while Estrada is getting squeezed once he gets 2 strikes.
  19. Too bad RR can't just wave the white flag and end the game. Our pen is screwed. I miss Parra in games like these. He is always good to come in and pitch 4 or 5 and save the bullpen if need be.
  20. Just Narvy being Narvy. It wasn't going to last forever, but hopefully we can hold them here and get the bats going.
  21. Love his bat and the Braun Fielder combo, but I'm not going to miss him in the field.
