  1. Taking 12 years to reach the World Series is monumental?
  2. Really? The Brewers are holding a number for Jim Ganter. How stupid.
  3. What's more amazing is how far in first they could be with a halfway competent bullpen.
  4. I sort of get the whole strikeouts don't matter thing but watching the Brewers should change most people's minds.
  5. I pretty much assumed a 4 game sweep by the Cardinals last week that would send the team spiraling to a 4th place finish but I guess it's going to be a 4 game sweep by the Pirates.
  6. He's going to AAA which seems a little surprising.
  7. Pitching an inning without giving up a run on a consistent basis is the exact definition of elite. I guess I should have said pitching a scoreless inning every now and then instead of giving up a run every time you pitch like our current bullpen.
  8. Why would the Rangers make this trade when they know if they are patient Stearns will most likely DFA him sooner rather than later? I doubt there are many teams waiting breathlessly for Peralta to be released. Why would anyone give up anything for Peralta when he's done nothing in his 4+ year career? It's not like you can hope he returns to form. He doesn't have a form to return to.
  9. A Brad in the Hand is worth two in the bush. So I guess all it should take is two lower minors scrubs.
  10. The theory behind this is that it will work because hitters take awhile to figure out any pitcher. It really has nothing to do with how good the pitchers are.
  11. I dunno, Rock said several times that basically Wily hasn't pitched much because he's stunk when he does, and BA even said something like Wily has got to be feeling like the end is near . Maybe they did. I heard BA start going on a diatribe about how Wily really isn't that bad and immediately tuned them out.
  12. Disappointing really, it looked like early on he had a chance to be a special pitcher. Instead he joins a long list of Brewer pitching prospects to turn into giant busts. But it's a new era, new GM, new Scouting director, maybe the trend changes. Did he though? I looked up his numbers tonight because I'm assuming he's gone tomorrow and was interested to see if he ever really did anything. He never had a WHIP below 1.32 at any levels of the minors and was consistently walking 4 per 9. K/9 was pretty decent between 8 and 10 but nothing else stood out as impressive. Outside of his 29 innings his rookie year, only once had an ERA below 4 and a WHIP below 1.4 and his FIP's pretty much back up his ERA. His k/9 dropped off quite a bit from the minors but he did lower his bb/9 a little. Basically he had one so-so year and was terrible the rest of the time. His numbers regressed almost every year. Quite honestly it's a miracle he's had a job as long as he did.
  13. Looks like our terrible bullpen may help us tonight. Stearns just needs to trade Torres, Peralta, and Drake to the Cubs and Cardinals.
  14. I get that they work for the Brewer so they can't trash the team but I hate how any time a Brewer tanks and is pretty much a goner, BA and Rock go out of their way to spend an inning talking about good the player is, and is just trying to figure it out, and will be good again.
  15. Is it wrong that I'm rooting for Wily to give up more runs just to get him off the roster?
  16. And hopefully we never see Wily again. Don't let the door hit you on the way out, because everyone else does.
  17. Garza's ineffectiveness is vastly overblown this year. His FIP lines up with his ERA and his WHIP is the lowest it's been in years. Is he great? No. Is he terrible? No. Today 2 runs scored on a squibber that went under Arcia's glove. He probably should have only given up 2 runs today.
  18. For crying out loud Pittsburgh, stop hitting it with your purse.
  19. Nothing drives a pitcher crazy like piddly little ground balls that are hits.
  20. Ya, but Gomez and Maldonado are gone. I would guess Braun is just about the only one still around from that.
  21. I'm not for or against a Hand trade but those numbers are meaningless. He was a starter for over half of 14-15.
  22. I'm sure every player there knew what the booing was for and probably agreed with it.
  23. Other than the Pirates unending hate for the Brewers, is there some other bad blood here?
  24. Agreed but there was no way we were giving him what he got from Colorado.
