  1. Has there been any evidence Sho was tanking games? If not, I still don't care about this.
  2. I caught the main event of both nights. Saturday was a fun match. I don't even know what to call Sunday's. The first 10 minutes was nothing but kicking out of finishers followed by 10 minutes of run-ins and then another 10 minutes of guys wobbling around. It certainly "finished the story" but definitely was not a wrestling match fitting a wrestlmania main event with over 2 years of build.
  3. Maddux is such an incredible outlier in so many ways. Go watch any game he pitched and he was getting a much wider zone than anybody today is getting. His control was so precise and movement was so ridiculous though that I think he would be successful in today's game but certainly not to the extent he was.
  4. I can't believe that some organization that's totally lacking in pitching hasn't made an effort to find guys who can actually pitch with command, movement, and changing speeds just see if they can make something out of them. These guys would no doubt be dirt cheap at minimum and probably less injury prone on average.
  5. Same thing actually happened to my father in law last summer.
  6. Angel Hernandez is still a horrible umpire.
  7. Send to the minors your leadoff hitter who's OPS'ing over 1000 and batting over .400. Super duper small sample but why. Even if your trying to gain control then don't have him on the opening day roster.
  8. He's 90 years old. His health is irrelevant he could die at any moment.
  9. Counsell never wanted to get into beanball wars, which I generally agree with. Murphy seems a little more old school. Although, Hoskins getting one should be an automatic ejection and put an end to anything but umpires almost never throw a guy out the first guy to throw at someone.
  10. Probably not. They've got one of the best backup catchers in the game.
  11. What makes even less sense is when they build in off days in opening series even when the games are played in a dome.
  12. He faced the AAAngels. Many pitchers could roll through that lineup.
  13. Toronto is down a catcher. I have no idea if they need one or not though.
  14. Between domed stadiums and warm weather cities they could easily have the first 2 or 3 series take place there and almost never have a rainout. But I guess it's more important that people in Cincinnati and Minneapolis get to have a home game on opening day and sit outside in the 40 degree weather to watch baseball between the snowflakes.
  15. Playing within the rules is not shenanigans.
  16. Well, they would have to either be healthy or performing well. So not anytime soon.
  17. The embarrassment that is the majority of the umpires employed by MLB is a bigger disgrace to the game than any potential game fixing via gambling.
  18. Does anyone outside of Dodger haters actually care about this? Until and unless they can prove Ohtani was tanking games this is all barely even newsworthy.
  19. Sounds about right for the Brewers to sign a player with a mysterious injury to a long term deal.
  20. The moralists would protest a Davies signing. I'd protest it because he's not very good anymore.
  21. Certainly. Pro athlete covers a pretty wide range of incomes.
  22. Over half of all seems pretty high but probably not that too far out of line.
  23. Obviously, Ohtani was betting in favor of the Angels for years, hence all the money he lost.
