  1. They've GOT to put in a call to Damon Harrison or someone like that this week. After week 1 you don't have to guarantee the contract the rest of the season. We needed another DL coming into this week and with Clark's status up in the air, we sure as hell need help on the DL right now. Harrison should be available for a couple million.
  2. Close. 2nd most apparently. I certainly don't recall many teams putting 40 of them before.
  3. Good. Let the Bears think Trubisky's there guy for another few weeks!
  4. No doubt. Rodgers looks better than he has since that Collarbone injury. He's getting the ball out quickly and he's as accurate as he's been in a while.
  5. Yes, it really was. Especially when you see the replay. He didn't hold at all. I'd like to see a 5th TD pass here(though I won't get it). Well...through one game, I guess we can say that the offense certainly looks better in year 2 of the LaFleur era!
  6. Jesus...Rodgers really is just dropping them right in there today. Don't want to take anything away, but his numbers would be that much better if MVS didn't drop those two.
  7. I've wondered all off-season, with Rodgers only being 35 and seeing what Brees/Brady have done in their late 30's...how much of Rodgers 2019 struggles were diminishing talent or just truly a new offensive scheme/system. Sure, the truth may still be in the middle somewhere, but I don't think he's done being in the top-5 elite QB in the game. He'll be 37 this year, but I still take your point. He did miss more big plays last year than he had at any other time in his career. But I think he's still a top 5 QB. I'd just like to see if he can still come close to the level he's played at in the past. I think it's pretty encouraging that he's talked about better balance. He threw a lot of those off his back foot last year.
  8. You can see the replay when they came back. His leg buckled pretty good coming down. And that little test to measure how loose the knee is.
  9. Or just let Roders keep racking up the TD's!
  10. It'd seem like that'd be the case. I thought it was a shoulder from the way he went down. But then you see them testing the lower leg. And they can usually tell if it's a torn ACL on the field. Maybe we get lucky though. More worried about Clark at the moment.
  11. My guess would be they don't really trust him in pass pro just yet. As I said earlier, Jones stepped up and picked up Barr on a few passes that gave Rodgers room to throw that a rookie may not have picked up. Or maybe he's just 3rd on the depth chart.
  12. Depends on your definition of good I guess. I think they lost 8 starters on defense? They were exceptional in 2019...average would be my adjective. I didn't think they'd lost that many, but they lost Griffen and replaced him with a better player. They lost Joseph and again, replaced him with a better player(though he opted out). It's hard to tell through 3 quarters of one game.
  13. It's really not. It's all just reputation at this point. It was last year. They're not great at CB, but they're pretty good everywhere else.
  14. Historically Rodgers does that a lot. He will often go right back to the same guy after a big drop. He has also been a guy to not be afraid of throwing to young receivers versus feeding his star nonstop. I don't know, my perception of him has been just the opposite. At least since Jones and Jordy were young. If he doesn't trust a guy, he doesn't really throw to them unless he has to. Maybe my perception is a little altered due to a few young guys like Janis(or even MVS the last half of last year). That may be due more to route running than to drops also. And a blown Coverage there. Giving the Vikings a little more life. Savage blows the coverage.
  15. That...and I remember James Jones and Jordy both dropping quite a few balls early on. But it's still brutal to see those two drops. He came back with a big catch, but this isn't a great secondary, but if MVS is going to step up and be the #2 this year...and we really need him to, he has to make both those plays.
  16. I still have no idea how good Mayfield's gonna be. I think he can be productive...he was as a rookie, but then they went with Kitchens last year and he didn'r really have a chance. I'd give him one more season if I had an investment in him. It's not like he's Johnny Football and already proven to be a complete clown. He's not off to a good start this year. Yeah, but it's the Ravens. That team was loaded last year and they got better this year. That Calais Campbell trade is another one that's baffling to me. How do they pick him up for a 5th round pick?
  17. That's what's stopping him from being a difference-maker. He made plenty of big plays early last year but couldn't make the routine plays often enough. Then he lost his confidence and Rodgers lost confidence in him. It's just one play this year, and one that even good WR'ers will bungle every once in a while thinking about running after the catch, but it's a big one. Hopefully, they come back to him next series.
  18. I still have no idea how good Mayfield's gonna be. I think he can be productive...he was as a rookie, but then they went with Kitchens last year and he didn'r really have a chance. 19. Really stupid there. Very lucky they didn't get hit with a penalty. That could have really swung the momentum.
  20. Yeah, that kinda is. Savage is flying over there at full speed and is getting ready to hit Rudolph as he goes down. But a lot of these penalties are pretty ticky tack penalties. I've definitely seen much-much worse. Really the only area of concern thus far for me is those 3 DL. Lancaster and Lowry looked just laughably bad on the short TD run by Cook. I don't know what Lancaster did, but he linedup in a 4 point stand and then just flopped to his belly...go back and watch that. It was as bad as of an effort as I can remember in a short yardage situation. And on D, Kenny Clark. He went to the half when the Packers had the ball, but that's still a giant question mark. He's dominated so far. He's the guy this D can least afford to lose.
  21. That does always make a Packers loss easier. Listening to the Bears fans despondant because they drafted Trubisky rather than Mahomes or Watson!
  22. This is why I think Rodgers has 2 more years here and 2 only, no matter what Gute might say otherwise. It just doesn't make sense anymore to draft a QB and not plan to start them until Year 5. It makes less sense to decide two years out that you're going to get rid of a HOF QB. Lets see how Rodgers plays, lets see how Love plays. It's quite a bit more nuanced than looking at when Rodgers cap hit starts to let up. If Rodgers is playing great, I don't think the Packers eat whatever it is...25 million because that's the year the Cap hit is low enough to save them money.
  23. What teams do you think are going to pursue Bradley Beal who'd be owed 2 years and ~83 million dollars? That team would be taking themselves out of the chase for Giannis. What would really scare me about this deal would be if the Bucks were desperate enough to do what Nate suggested and what the Clippers did with the Thunder in giving them the option to swap in the future. And you'd be losing your only promising young player in DD(Who'd be a pretty significant addition for Washington and who you're undervaluding quite a bit). All this just brings back how disappointing it is that Bledsoe can't figure it out. He's so talented and he's capable of being the player we need. He just locks up in the playoffs offensively. Really would like to see what Billy Donovan could do with him...or a better coach who could use his talented a big better...but that doesn't look to be an option.
  24. I would love Beal, but I have to believe they'll get 10 better offers than that. If those 1st round picks were lottery picks, sure, but they're not. A big part of it will be cutting cap space for the Wizzards. Bled has one year guaranteed left and then they can cut him. Ersan obviously is non-guaranteed. DD is a really good young player. And then I'd guess the Bucks would have to offer up their own future 1st(I thought 2024 was the first year they could deal it) and they could make that unprotected. Also, we're looking at Bled as the playoff failure, but he's a really good player in the regular season. And honestly, he'd be a really nice player IF we already had a player like Beal. But either way, he does have some credit. With so many teams trying to ensure they don't add cap space in the event that Giannis does walk...it becomes a little more feasible. Though it's more likely the Bucks will target a Reddick type player. Either way, if the Bucks are going to make a big upgrade, it'll cost DiVincenzo and at least the Indy 1st along with Bled. I'm also hoping that due to Covid related issues and...again, the fact that teams like the Mavs, Lakers, Warriors and others aren't likely to go out and sign a guy to a multi-year deal, that MLE we've got available might net us a better player than it would have in the past. I'd think players who'd normally be looking at ~15 million or so, may be willing to take the 4/40 the Bucks can offer with opt outs in there.
