  1. I dont think it was his main point guys.
  2. Was he even DFA'd.
  3. Philly doesnt really boo their own, just opposing.
  4. You cant even call that booing, wait till Hall gets to Boston and slumps, what will he do then? You cant call a few thousand drunken idiots "fans"
  5. This thread sums up one of the few reasons why I am sometimes embarrassed to be a Brewers fan. 1) Do you think the team does not realize that they gave up a 3-run lead and/or that their fans might not be happy about it? 2) I'm sure the pitcher feels great that he just gave up back-to-back jacks. Why add insult to injury? In college basketball, if a team just gave up a few buckets, it is standard for the home crowd to cheer them on as they come down the court. Why not cheer a team/player after a tough inning to show support? 4) Once again, I am sure the team is just thrilled to lose 7 games in a row. It would never have any effect on their pride or momentum... 5) Generally, players have called out the fans/organization because of booing--so the correct response is obviously to boo them more! 7) As we have seen on these forums, virtually all managerial decisions are debatable. What happens if a manager makes a horrible decision but it works anyway--should we still boo them? As for when I think booing is appropriate: 1) Lack of effort--although that one is still debatable 2) The opposition--we want to create a home field advantage, right? 3) Players who have knowingly cheated/taken steroids 4) Bad umpiring Obviously, every fan has a "right" to boo. But the players also have a "right" to be upset about it and a "right" to sign in a different city in free agency. They are human after all, and there is no reason why they should tolerate it if there are fans in other cities who will give them more support. EXACTLY. Thats why I am HAPPY I am not a NY fan or a CHI fan. We dont do that in Milwaukee. Its dumb to boo your own, and I am embarrassed to call the ones that do boo my own. Just dont boo Corey, its that simple, there is no point too.
  6. Sorry we has fans try to support or players.
  7. I'm gonna set up a booing tape recorder, just so i can find you frantically searching for someone, with your pimp hand locked, and loaded. Hahahaha, ill be ready.
  8. In your opinion, it shows a lack of class. I don't think you can categorically state that booing is a classless act. You have the right to think what you will about booing and when it is justified to boo, and when it is not justified to boo. When it is classy, and when it is classless. So much of this, however, looks to me as if it's a simple case of stroking one's ego. Look at how much better of a fan/person I am, I don't act like.... I can count on one hand the number of times I've boo-ed a baseball player, but I don't try to go around puffing up my ego because I boo less than others. If it's within their right to do it, who am I to judge? I do not agree with booing your own. Ive never booed one of our own EVER. There is no point to it. None of them are bad people, and it doesnt make them play better either.
  9. I agree, its over, I just want to move on. Can the season start yet?
  10. Haha, well obviously people on here are a little sensitive and cant take a sarcastic remark. Man people are so uptight these days.
  11. JUST DONT BOO HART, SIMPLE AS THAT. ANYONE THAT BOO'S HART ON OPENING DAY, IM GOING TO WALK AROUND THE STADIUM AND SMACK EACH AND EVERYONE OF THEM INDIVIDUALLY.
  12. Im really excited to see Capuano, Arnett, Heckathorn and Braddock this spring when I go.
  13. I think Hart is not easy enough to replace and I think he has to much potential to have a good season, I dont see him repeating last season. I think he is coming into this season like he has something to prove, which I like. I also dont think he is worth Hart and Salome, one, because I would like to see what Salome has, and two, because of what I said above, the best thing to me, would be us relieving a LITTLE payroll.
  14. According to Tom H, Doug said he is setting up "B" games, so all 32 invites, and 10 non roster invites get a chance to play. Also, does someone like Lofgren get put in AAA Nashville if he doesnt make the opening day? I guess, I just want alot of arms in AAA, I want whoever doesnt make opening day to be in Nashville, so we have alot of arms. Who wouldnt go to Nashville? I know Shoenweis wont if he doesnt make it, and maybe Halama, etc.
  15. I guess when I think of the 07 and 08 Giants, I think of them signing old guys to be the core of their team (I don't know if that is an accurate assessment or not). Of the guys you listed, I don't think the Brewers are counting on any of them to be a core players, with perhaps the exception being Randy Wolf. Off of the top of my head, four of the nine players you mentioned are on minor league contracts with invites to Spring Training (Schoenweiss, Halama, Edmonds & Treanor). Really no harm in that at all. If they do well, great. If they stink, no big loss. Counsell and perhaps Inglett are expected to be bench/role players, not everyday players. Doug Davis is expected to stabilize the what was the worst rotation in baseball last year, not anchor it. The only one who seems to be heavily counted on is Gregg Zaun, and he is a guy who can't possibly be worse than Jason Kendall. And who knows what Salome/LuCroy will show this spring. I see what your saying JBriggs, but I don't think that the Giants situation is an apples to apples comparison. I admittedly don't follow the Giants, but like I said, it seemed to me that they were signing old guys with the idea that they would be main cogs in their lineup/pitching staff, whereas it doesn't seem to be quite that way for the Brewers. EDIT: I see you added Hawkins and Hoffman to your original post. Again, I see what you're saying, but Hawkins has pitched pretty well the last couple of years, and Hoffman is still an effective closer. Neither of those two have shown to be on a major downslide in their careers that we should be that worried about their age. You are exactly right. The older guys on our team are mostly just "role" players and back ups.
  16. Yes they have a lot of pitchers, but Morrow, Marcum, and McGowan all have injury problems. Id like Morrow out of all of them, but we would have to give up something that we probably need.
  17. Cant we stick Narveson in AAA to begin with even if he doesnt have an option? Because I dont think he has 5 years major league service. I get confused on how that works, even though he is out of options, cant we put him down in AAA before opening day? As far as i know, he needs to have an option. But i will concede to those who know a lot more about this kind of thing than i do. EDIT: Looks like the deal is worth 800k if he makes the team. Yeah, I thought it was.... If they have 5 years Major League service, they can decline AAA and become a FA. If not they have to go to AAA, but they if they have 0 options left the next time they make the club and are DFA they can become a FA. Not positive though, anyone know for sure?
  18. Cant we stick Narveson in AAA to begin with even if he doesnt have an option? Because I dont think he has 5 years major league service. I get confused on how that works, even though he is out of options, cant we put him down in AAA before opening day?
  19. Thats what I thought, so it brings me to my next question. If he does make the roster, doesnt that mean we will have to release Villa or Narveson, or can those 2 still go to AAA?
  20. This is the question I have, if Schoenweis doesnt make the club, does he go to the Minors or does he go into free agency. We have all the ST Invites, but will they be in the minors or FA?
  21. The reason I am not worried about Macha and his relationship with people, is because I know that we have other good coaches, like Randolph, who has head coach experience and Dale, who obviously was the interm for a bit.
