  1. Awesome way for young RHP's Evan Anundsen and Alexandre Periard to enter the offseason; Brent Brewer two hits, including a double; my thoughts exactly. I saw these three in the boxscores, and thought positive things

  3. yeah, saw he's over .310 now.. sure is good to see.
  4. nice outing by Hill. seems to me that his stats are skewed heavily by one or two outings.
  5. Brian, I know it's on your list to develop a new message board. I recently noticed I have the "renew EZ supporter" messsage in the upper right. What's the time frame on the message board transition? Should I renew for another 6 months?
  6. If everybody is hyped about Gillespie, Chris Errecart is having an awesome year at Helena and is a year younger Postseason2006, please look up the stats for the 2004 Helena Brewers, which I believe featured Sollman, Rasheed, Richardson, Festa, et al. You'll probably see some guys with fantastic numbers in their pro debuts, and won't recognize their names since they've done little since. I know that the Pioneer League is kind of a mixed league, as some teams send HS picks and Dominicans, while others send college players.
  7. pogo, I'm pretty sure Festa's been the 1b, so Gamel has been exclusively at 3b
  8. Has Zumwalt become a guy the Brewers think could actually pitch in the bigs? Danzig, I have no idea, but they really have been very tentative with him. When they got him, I thought he was rumored to throw in the mid-90s, but there's not much info about him
  9. Darn it, DHonks, I thought Huntsville had won when I read your post this AM yeah Mass. Just before hitting the hay, I checked and was shocked they lost rather late in the game. Takes some pressure off of Helena I guess. Good to see Mercedes with a decent outing
  10. igor, I recall the same...just that one outing with like 3 runs allowed. His strikeout rate seems up, and walk rate down Also, Helena ruins the chances at the perfect night...in years past, this was never the case, as usually the A+ or AA teams ruined the days
  11. Al, I'm expecting him to be more like Wolfe and Bausher...which means trade bait at best.
  12. well, the tentative rosters are out. The Brewers will be sending: Steve Bray Manny Parra Dennis Sarfate Alec Zumwalt Vinny Rottino Steve Moss Ryan Braun So we were right on Braun, Rottino, Parra, and Sarfate, and we also were correct that they'd send a journeyman of sorts in Bray. I'm kind of surprised Moss is going and not Gwynn, but maybe he'll get a september callup.
  13. I just read that the schedule has been released, and tomorrow the tentative rosters get released. It looks like the league wants Scottsdale to win it all once again, as they have the talent-rich Brewers, Angels, and Dbacks on the squad. The squad I'll be with will once again feature the A's and DRays, along with the Reds, Blue Jays, and Tigers, which makes laundry easy to sort since only the A's and DRays have one color the same...Green. It'll be my 3rd go round in the game, and we'll be going for a 3rd title (clubbies all over are jealous)
  14. nice to see Harper in a boxscore. And Perierd with an unscored upon outing is encouraging. Any idea why Wahpepah has gone from dominant to hittable?
  15. while I understand the comparison to Sheets, it should be noted that Sheets was working on learning to throw only 92-94 in the minors. The Brewers were trying to teach him to vary speeds and throw a 2-seamer. It wasn't until his 3rd season in the big leagues (or was it 4th) that he finally said "screw it, I'm throwing 4 seamers as hard as I can."
  16. Peralta with a solid outing...good to see some improvement from the Dominican signings of late...Mercedes and Peralta especially
  17. isn't this Sarfate's first bad outing in relief?
  18. Maybe Palmisano was occupying too much space in my thoughts Lou was a rookie ball wonder, but has done about as much as Kade Johnson outside of Helena. Great to see Katin at 34 doubles, especially skipping W. Va. He could see a huge boost in his numbers going to Huntsville next year.
  19. don't look now, but Jones has his ERA under 3! Here's hoping he continues his hot streak. And boy, pitching sure is fun to follow this year
  20. Really interesting that Jackson is still struggling. He never really had a dominant stretch. Even while his ERA was solid in AAA, he wasn't having Yo/Inman performances. Heck, they weren't as impressive as Eveland, Fernandez, and Hendrickson even. Good to see Toby's boy Roque Mercedes with 5 innings. Seems that's the most we've seen from our young kids.
  21. was at the game, and we were lucky with the score-keeping, as Bell made the error right before the Ramirez homer, although it was called a hit, thus giving Davis an extra ER.
  22. when we signed Koonce it seemed logical that he'd be a potential callup in the event of a penant push, as his bat would be dynamite off the bench
  23. it's amazing how we own the Cubs in Wrigley, and they own us in Milwaukee.
  24. Big problem with Cuban defectors is getting a realiable age yes and no...big league stuff at age 19 means that they have AAA stuff and 21 years old. But that still doesn't mean they don't have talent. The concern is with the 30 year olds
  25. Joe Thatcher just sprung to mind, a guy that they may want to try and push as a left-handed reliever similar to Mitch Stetter actually Colby, mentioning thatcher reminds me of them sending Bausher and Wolf to the AFL over prospects. Perhaps there's a player that isn't from the organization originally who they'd want to send.
