  1. that right there is why Hall shouldn't play everyday. Still, who knows...next year he might draw a few more walks and cut down the errors enough to be a good starter. I still think his best position is 3rd base as he doesn't have a chance to think, just react.
  2. wait, is it possible to reach .500 still? I mean, first Helms homers, next comes Obermueller regaining his 2003 form, then the Brewers at .500 again, and finally the Vikings win the Super Bowl
  3. Gotta say that David's stance looks better than it did last fall in Arizona. Looks very relaxed, almost like Griffey or Troy O'Leary (albeit he's much slimmer). Kind of surprised in his first big league at bat they didn't ask him to try to bunt for a hit.
  4. Gotta Say, I think Ned pulled Victor a tad early...hopefully I'm wrong
  5. Great to see Keith driving it to right-center. Haven't seen him do that much at all this year since he's been trying to pull everything all year
  6. Good to see Scotty driving the ball again. For much of the season he tried going away with every pitch, and forgot that driving one to right or right-center is still good hitting technique
  7. well, we know Vogelsong was a bigtime prospect with the Giants....good to see he's throwing well again after the surgery.
  8. Once again, Jenkins playing so deep and his lack of range really hurt us there. A DP sure would be nice
  9. Should Hart be called up considering the labrum he tore last offseason has apparently been hampering him lately? Or should he just rehab/have surgery to get ready for winter ball or spring training?
  10. Pods with two hits, but his best hit ball was the one he was robbed of a single on in the first. Of course, it goes both ways, as Uecker was saying his second hit should have been an error
  11. Uecker really layed into Grieve on the broadcast.
  12. RoCo, I'm just waiting for Ned to resort to randomly pulling his lineup from a hat (as in, he sets his 9, then draws for batting order)
  13. couldn't we have Obermueller batting 7th or 8th, or would that be too crazy a thought?
  14. wait, the bullpen can't be faulted when 2 runs should be charged to Helms and 1 to Jenkins. should have been 3-1, if not more like 5-1
  15. not sure what was up with Jenkins...why dive/tumble since it almost hit him in the chest? It's not like it fell infront of him. Must have lost it in the lights
  16. REALLY nice to see Sheets shake off Moeller when he called for that stupid HIGH FASTBALL against Jim Thome. And then strike him out with a big curveball. RoCo, what concerns me is that everyone is taking Ben's curve in the 2nd half. He simply cannot throw it for strikes, so if they pick it up they are expecting it to be a ball. The high fastball has been his best strikeout pitch prior to this year. Just shows that he's had command of his curve for half a season, and it's been dominant, whereas the rest of his career it has been nothing special
  17. as I said on the first page of this thread, Ben threw his first 75 mph curve of the year. That tells me that it's the gun. I don't think I've seen him below his 82-84 mph range all season until tonight
  18. At first I thought Sheets' velocity was down, but if he struck out the last guy on a 75 mph heater, then it's just a difference in radar gun. He usually throws it 82-84. Also, I did see at least 1 changeup that inning
  19. Helms will be 2-4 tonight with a double and 2 rbi, and a walk. yes, I'm an optimist
  20. okay Lend, if that's the case then I understand just letting him go. Then again, last year I saw Ozzie Chavez and he looked like the slowest middle infielder ever. The Mav's announcer (Linscog, or whatever his name was) said they couldn't believe how wrong the glowing scouting reports on Chavez had been. So who knows with these guys. Perhaps sometimes they look flat for extended periods, and sometimes it's because of injuries.
  21. like I've said before with Murray, his low error total indicates that he can at least do something well. With a lack of Shortstops in the organization, I say send him to one of the A teams next year and see what he does. No point in giving up on a young Shortstop. I would expect a SS to make about 3 times more errors than he did in A ball, just due to minor league infields, weather, etc
  22. jvrockaz, maybe it's because we have few players on the bench today
  23. some clarification on the lineup on the Brewers' webpage (LINK) Apparently Jenkins also suffered another injury last night (that's three for him revealed in the past week), and Overbay strained his hamstring. Kind of makes me wish we had a healthy Kieschnick to throw at 1st while Branyan stays at 3b.
  24. I just read on the Brewers site that Jenkins has been "bothered all season by tendinitis in his right wrist". Am I the only one that did not know this? Yeah, read that on I think Sat or Sunday on the website or the Journal Sentinal. Really pissed me off. My prediction on brewerfan said Jenkins would not go on the DL because now he's being payed to play games, not perform in them
  25. well, I see we have the OBP guys stacked at the top. Maybe with enough of them on, we can get Branyan an RBI chance
