  1. Did anyone catch the name of the play by play guy on ESPN2 today? I've got Yanks-BoSox on ESPN2, so luckily I have the MLB cable package. So sorry And as for Ginter playing everyday, I can see it, just not where. I figure we have to bring back Spivey, but given he's had hamstring issues in his career, I would like to see Ginter play like Loretta did a few years back. 2 days a week at 2nd, 1 a week in the outfield, 1 at 3rd/1st). That's 2/3rds of the games, not to mention that we always seem to have an injury. If he could play SS, I'd let him split time with Hall
  2. way to go Keith...start scratching away
  3. well, Pods with a nice jump. Interesting to note he's now sliding head first sometimes and footfirst other times. He started this maybe a month ago. Rough inning for Santos. Gotta figure he'll be out shortly.
  4. interesting to see Krynzel is playing again. Jenkins with the day off, Magruder in left
  5. Mass, MLB changes times, not the team. Can't worry about what you can't control. not true Al. I remember the Brewers requesting the Angels move up the game time so that they could be back in Milwaukee before the sun rose the following day, and the Angels declined. At times MLB might have say, but I'd think it's more likely that the networks have the power, not MLB.
  6. jeremyraz, I still think a good idea with our 3 good hitting pitchers (Obermueller, Kieschnick, and Capuano) to send them to minor league games to DH or play the field on days they don't toss in big league games.
  7. great game by Wes. See guys, he isn't terrible. Seriously though, Wes isn't a bad pitcher, but he needs to make some strides. He's been very good for 4-5 innings this year. Hopefully Wes learned some things this season and can come back next year and compete for a rotation or bullpen slot. I can see him being a very good reliever, as his stuff is very similar to David Weathers'
  8. that's huge. now a run here would be nice, and it would be a huge turn around from nearly giving up a few
  9. come on Doug, need a huge out here
  10. wow, great job there by Ben to get out of the 5th by striking out Sanders and Mabry with the bases loaded, after the defense let him down
  11. way to go Pods and Trent...1 in, now for a 2nd run
  12. so is Ben the anti-Eldred? In that, I mean Cal started out 11-1, and while he's had a long career, he's been only a fraction of the player we expected. So will Ben struggle early and have the long productive career?
  13. I just wish this was on TV. Got to see De La Rosa this week, and I've only seen Little Ben only once on TV.
  14. nice start from Ben, 13 pitches in the first, 9 for strikes, and 1-2-3. The Cards don't have Pujols and Rolen out there, but with Edmonds, Walker, and Renteria, you could say this is their B lineup, which is still outstanding
  15. Okay, since nobody got this going and we're 5 mins from gametime, I need to add it. I've never been able to format things here, so I'll link to the lineups: LINEUPS Kind of a funky lineup, but it's a day game and the end of a series. Going with some speed out there. Although I'd have put Krynzel 8th rather than Moeller.
  16. Just got home, someone please describe this play that Krynzel made.
  17. I'm just thinking that with the shear number of DFE's, and lots of them being talented pitchers, there's a chance that 2 or 3 will add 5 mph.
  18. Outstanding recap Patrick. I am really excited about our top 4 picks as all have a chance to be special. I still believe that based on mechanics, Baker will be the most productive big leaguer of the Rice Quartet. I also think it's possible for us to take a very good player in the first round next year, but also somewhat of a budget pick. I say that, because if the bonus approaches Weeks-size AND the Crew signs multiple DFE--with at least 1 or 2 in the bonus range that Parra got--then we're going to need a huge draft budget
  19. That's just dumb. So's letting Durrington swing
  20. and I keep forgetting about Morris, but he's on my free agent wishlist, too. I know we probably won't sign anyone, but for pitcher they are (in order) Radke, Morris, Benson, and Lowe. I figure Pavano, Clement, and Pedro are all a little expensive
  21. heck yes Keith. Now we need a lead.
  22. maybe Ned is seeing him a lttle worn down since it is his first full year
  23. This is my first time seeing De La Rosa, and I love his motion. The only thing I'd like to see is that it appears he could keep his weight back a touch longer. Right now his body gets way ahead of his arm. This is the same thing Sheets worked on in spring training, which is why I think he's shown a curveball far superior this year over previous seasons.
  24. i wonder what the record is for hit differential in a series while getting swept.
