  1. As badly as I want to win this year, I’ll take the former, and give them Hader and Grandal. Can’t turn down the best prospect in baseball, plus 3 top pitchers even if one is hurt again and won’t pitch till sometime next year. Then I might trade Baz Ashby Ray + for Trevor Bauer. And Trade Dubon + for Will Smith And Trade for another quality rental reliever Then win this year anyhow, keeping Franco Liberatore Honeywell. Yes! Trading Hader does not mean we need to be in tear-it-down and rebuild mode. It just means we could sell as high as possible in order to get a massive haul and set ourselves up for the future at the same time. The Rays are going to need to make some trades this year. They are going to have a serious roster crunch in the next year+
  2. 10 games left before the break. If the starting pitching gets back on track, all is well. If not...
  3. I'd be more than fine with this. Give the guy some extended rest to heal up properly. Plus give Hiura a chance to come up and rake. Perez can handle the 4th OF duties for a week or 2, with Thames the emergency OF.
  4. I agree, but he's not striking out much and taking BBs as well. The power should come with an approach like that. Still, it looks like Thames has nailed down the first base spot against righties, relegating Aguilar to the spot start and pinch hitting, which is a pretty limited role.
  5. Since June 6th Aguilar is at .303/.395/.424 in 37 PAs. 5 BBs and 5 Ks.
  6. It was a good time to suicide. Unexpected with the bases loaded, and Leake would likely be pitching to contact on the first pitch against the pitcher. The only super negative that could happen would be if Chase whiffs it completely or pops it up.
  7. Hader and Grandal to the Rays for Wander Franco, Brent Honeywell, Shane Baz and Matt Liberatore. Or McKay, Sanchez, Brujan, Honeywell and Baz.
  8. Really? You must be seeing something I'm not then. The Brewers are certainly not a top-notch defensive squad with Moose at 2B, but I haven't seen any concerning issues defensively. In the last week+ it's been poor though.
  9. This is foolish talk. We are right in the middle of the race. No need to pull away. This statement is what's wrong with the Brewers front office. This must be a David Stearns burner account. No worries here. We are just fine. We are the WILDCARD!! This team is in trouble and anyone who says otherwise is just being a fan. no offense to fans but fans tend to bend towards fandom. I tend to bend towards reality. Says the guy with 1300+ posts in 1.5 years on an internet sports fan message board There are a lot of trolls here. I agree that Hiura should be playing. Other than that, I don't have any problems with our roster management. As far as having to use Thames, that's because Cain was out.
  10. Claudio vs. Santana isn't a promising matchup. Don't let him see a strike.
  11. Ugly play by Yelich...probably prefer that he not sacrifice his body though.
  12. Houser and Peralta are going to strike out 21 tonight.
  13. No it's not and they haven't even asked him too. Yeah they did If the pay is the same, then it really is pretty selfish of Nelson...If the pay isn't the same then it is actually just as selfish but much more understandably selfish in the Good old American kind of way...
  14. More runs saved for the Brewers' pythagorean record!!!
  15. The fact he is going to take up a bullpen spot to likely serve in a mop up duty only role for the foreseeable future isn’t a great situation for either him or the team at this point. BA droning on-and-on about his situation wasn't helping either...then the double play! So, 2 IP, 4BB, 2H, and miraculously 0 Rs for Jimmy tonight.
  16. This has been a less than inspiring performance from JimmyN.
  17. Yelich doesn't usually take that pitch...especially with 2 guys on base in a 4 run game...
  18. I've been a big Perez supporter but I totally agree with this. He hasn't shown enough to pay him in arby when another guy is coming up and is ready to perhaps improve upon your mediocrity at the plate. Getting rid of either/both Thames and Aguilar would help as well...find a first basemen who can competently play the OF and the super versatility of Perez shouldn't be needed anymore.
  19. Put 5 or 8 runs on the board here and let Nelson pitch the last 3 innings.
  20. I think leadoff BBs are my greatest source of frustration in the game of baseball. And that is saying a lot, as the entire game is an exercise in sisyphean masochism.
  21. He didn't pitch well, but the defense buried them. If Arcia makes that play in the 3rd, evrything is different...perhaps pitch around Vogelbach and don't give up the homer...then obviously the 2 runs in the 4th were all on the defense.
  22. Well, bad OFs have a 0% of catching it, good OFers have a 50/50 chance of catching it, that's what make the overall percentage around 32%.
