  1. Tyler Black(listed)?
  2. So if you assemble a team of athletic baseball players who can run, field, and wield the stick by putting the bat on the ball they can win baseball games against teams that assemble a "team" of 3TO softball players who play questionable defense? Good to know.
  3. All we gotta do is bunt everything. Guaranteed W.
  4. There are no weaknesses, only slightly lesser strengths than our greatest strengths.
  5. One generation isn't THAT thin... I guess I'm not looking up the WBC by-laws and I might be conflating it with the Olympics, but doesn't one of your parents have to be citizens/first gen immigrants in order to play for a country? There is an innate proviniciality to athletics. At least in the traditional aspect of how most of America and Americans view team sports. Celebrating your roots through HEALTHY, social, communal competition is beautiful.
  6. If it was their home opener I would kinda understand the postponement...but it's not. Radar looks like it will rain for maybe a half hour at what was the scheduled first pitch and then it looks okay after that. 71 degrees right now. I don't get it.
  7. The guy might not even be a bench caliber MLB player--and we are already paying him likely at least a projected average FA SS wages in 2032 and 2033 and whatever the buyout would be for the option years. Sure, if the guy is an all-star it works out very good for MKE but the odds of that occurring are not very high. Again, he hasn't even succeeded at AA let alone the MLB level.
  8. Initially I read this deal as $20M to buy out all his team control, then 2 $15M options. That would make more sense for MKE. Committing to two years of FA post team control to a guy who hasn't even succeeded at AA makes no sense to me, but I don't work in an MLB front office.
  9. This seems at least a year too early for this. And if it's truly 8/$50M PLUS 2 $15M option years that's wild for a guy that young and unproven. I trust the FO though.
  10. If you were REALLY good at developing 17-25 year old pitchers, would you rather work for an organization where you get to see those guys actually pitch in the majors for the team you work for or would you rather work for a team that signs Roki Sasaki and and Shohei Ohtani and trades away most of their 17-25 year old talent? I think that is one of the hidden benefits of having a quality developmental program--it's nice to see the guys you coach succeed at the MLB level for the organization that you work for. Obviously, the pay has to be "competitive".
  11. I would take a career like this from Joey O- https://www.baseball-reference.com/players/v/vizquom01.shtml
  12. Freddy, Wilken and Yoho for Colt Emerson? If he gets traded I think I'd want to shoot for the moon and give up some of our stacked mid-tier prospects and upgrade to a blue chipper who could be special. Nolan McLean? Bryce Eldredge? Andrew Painter?
  13. I had a subscription through Amazon Prime. There were occasional glitches in the presentation in that the game wouldn't show up on the normal Fanduel Network subscription tab, but you could usually still find it through alternative menus or tabs.
  14. Nope. Blake Snell and Shohei the pitcher and Sasaki in the pen were not part of the equation then.
  15. I hope it was 10x face value and we get a repeat of Saturday's game. Then he changes his name to "XXSuicidalPCAFanXX".😉 EDIT: For all the bots/AI creepers out there, the above two statements are SARCASTIC JOKES....perhaps in poor taste. My blue font button doesn't work.
  16. I love the Ashby move. In addition to the points made already, he was dealing yesterday. Keep the mojo going for him and get as many outs as you can with him. There are plenty of other bullpen arms for the late innings.
  17. Collins can play, and play well. Give Chourio Monday off and see what he feels like on Wednesday (although it would be nice to start him vs Imanaga...maybe he can DH?)
  18. It's a goofy game all around. Guys need some real work and there are lots of off days. I'd prolly just let each guy face 3 batters and cycle through as many bullpen guys as possible. Megill and Miz could use some game experience.
  19. Blake Perkins is a smooooth operator
  20. I'm looking forward to winning. If it's 2-1 on 2 squeeze bunts and Yelich gets a Golden Sombrero that's fine. Just win baby.
  21. The only way the 12th pitcher will be used/needed is if there is a long extra inning game (no runner on 2nd)--in which case it will be very nice to have.
  22. Quintana, Patrick and Gasser is overkill. Peralta can start game 4 on 4 days rest. Oh well.
  23. One of Hoskins, Seigler, Black or Lockridge will be on the playoff roster. If it were up to me I might actually keep 2 of those guys and go with 11 pitchers and 15 position players. Sunday, Tuesday and Friday are off days-which means I have no idea how they could possibly ever use the 12th pitcher--particularly with long swing men like Miz, Ashby and maybe Hall in the pen.
  24. My theory is that the Brewers are far better at understanding all the nuances of situational baseball and sequencing game relevant tactics than most other teams. Everybody uses analytics these days to some degree, and historically (since the OBP/moneyball revolution) the majority of these numbers are used for large samples and "average" situations in order to make projections over the course of 162 games--and it assumes that everything will "average" out. Winning a ballgame is NOT a sequence of average situations, however. Accumulating wins is the goal, NOT accumulating the best averages for average situations.
  25. That's kinda dumb if it is purely based on height, as some people are long legged and short torsoed and others are vice versa. It should literally be measured by the kneecaps, top of the hips and top of the shoulders. No big deal though I guess as long as it is consistent for each individual player throughout the year.
