  1. Sure. You could say that the small sample that was his incredibly anemic start to the season should be fully put in the rear view mirror and we should judge him based on his most recent 1.5 months or so.
  2. Perez vs. LHP this year .295/.333/.508. I can't see Shaw starting over him against lefties. Hiura, sure, but right now it's gotta be Hernan.
  3. Aguilar's April was little league bad. Then he was torrid for 2-3 weeks OPSing over 1.000 from Apr. 29th to May 17th. Then he was back to worse than horrible for another two weeks, and has stabilized to being okay for the last 2 weeks.
  4. Huh? Thames and Aguilar were both bad at hitting in the arbitrary dates of May 1st to May 31st, but they both got on base. Thames has been hot in June, and Aguilar has been okay. In May- Thames .210/.380/.306 in 79 PAs Aguilar .236/.380/.327 in 72 PAs
  5. The only point I was trying to make is that perceptions get repeated ad nauseum in this place (usually in the IGTs) and those perceptions aren't really all that accurate. I find the strange group fixation on finding a whipping boy and stoning him until he's off the roster a bit weird. Shaw from June 4th to June 16th .250/.400/.417 in 30 PAs Aguilar from Jun 4th to June 16th .273/.333/.455 in 24 PAs
  6. Yelich from April 29th to May 31st: .247/.367/.568 Aguilar from April 29th to May 31st: .274/.397/.500 Aguilar has been fine in a part time role since his horrendous first month. Thames had a great April, bad May, and is having a great June. Shaw has been fine since he's come back from the IL.
  7. Aguilar is going to get on base 4 times tonight.
  8. The variance in outcomes for this pitching staff is extremely wide due to the number of arms that we are cycling through. We are in first place right now and the staff hasn't particularly performed all that well. Pick up another arm or two and things will be fine. Stand pat with who we have and things might be fine too.
  9. Shaw was the #7 hitter up with 1 out. Even if Perez didn't hit for him, you'd think he'd already be getting up and ready to hit in the #9 spot. It was odd anyway.
  10. I'm skeptical that EE can keep up his current pace. I think we have the pieces in house. If Pina can OPS better than .700 like he has for the previous 3 years, our best lineup might be Grandal at 1st and Pina behind the plate. I'm not sure if we can upgrade the actual baseball talent from Shaw, Aguilar, Hiura, Grandal, Thames and Pina. Carlos Santana intrigues me, but there aren't a whole lot of other guys who are available who are obviously better than what we have.
  11. a 4 run lead and he goes out and throws 12 balls to 1 strike. Didn't even give Houser a chance to warm up.
  12. Slow hit roller? Or inexperience at 1st? granted I have no idea how many games he's played at first in his career Inexperience. He coulda got 2 if he went to 2nd, but that's an awkward throw through a baserunner. Best to get the one sure out if he wasn't comfortable making that throw. If he was playing closer he coulda went home, but there was no way to get him playing back (not sure why he was playing back though)
  13. That is one of those takes where you kinda nod your head while sighing. Kinda like everyone knows this, but it sucks to admit it. It's depressing to read it, and as fans, it's nice to put on blinders once in a while, even when most know what is going on. Every week for 3+ years? Again, what's the point?
  14. What is the point? I don't disagree but the guy has a 9 game hitting streak, and this refrain is like 3 years more than tired. Keep it up though, I'm sure he's listening.
  15. Braun is going to have another key AB in this game.
  16. Hernan doesn't walk much, but man I like him as a baseball player.
  17. I wanted Davies to go longer, but it certainly makes sense to go to a well rested bullpen. Still need runs.
  18. Steal 2nd plz perez...or get thrown out
