  1. They're all that's left for decent people to cheer for. Are they any more annoying fans or organizations than those of the Giants, Cardinals, and Yankees? The Tigers are 3 future Hall of Famers and a load of crap as complement. Not much to root for to me. I want every team left in the running to LOSE.... Since that won't happen I plan on ignoring all the remaining baseball and all future reference to the 2012 season......
  2. Either way, they need an upgrade over Parra for sure. The Brewers could have open tryouts at Miller Park and likely sign a local free agent who would be an immediate upgrade over Parra. It would be nearly impossible to actively look for a worse pitcher.....
  3. Grienke had a few bad starts in Anaheim but I think he was generally pretty good. He just started out rough. You could replace anaheim with milwaukee and have an equally accurate statement....
  4. We replaced Prince Fielder's production with Aramis and Corey Hart. I remember Hart from the 2011 team, but I don't remember that Aoki guy......
  5. This isn't the case. This article lays out how the revenue is split. A portion goes to the commissioners office, a portion goes to the players pool and the rest is divided equally between the series participants. While you are mostly correct, you should replace "revenue" with "ticket revenue" as this quote from that article: indicates that all non-ticket revenue is the home teams.
  6. I can't think of a more fitting end to the season than the bullpen blowing a 6 run lead......
  7. Last year he pitched 128 innings, the year before 125. Didn't he play in winter ball last year or was it the year before?
  8. Another really nice start from Peralta. I can't express in words my desire to never see 90% of the bullpen in a brewers uniform again.....
  9. 3-3 against the top two teams in the NL is not that bad 3-4 (2-2 vs. Wash, 1-2 vs. Cinn) The Brewers still need to win their remaining games. We just need a break and the Cards lose both series...... It Can Be Done!!!!
  10. #4 is even a stretch in my eyes. you might want to get your eyes checked by an optometrist....
  11. The bandwagon got pretty light after 2 lossese..... nice start from Marcum and balanced hitting. if bud norris keeps up his gem we are only 3 down in losses. a 7 game streak to finish out the season and a very possible 3-3 stretch for the nards and we have a tie!
  12. I just hope after the next 4 games the Brewers are in a position that the final 6 games at Miller Park are 6 playoff games for the brewers. it would be awesome to have MP rocking to end the season.....
  13. yeah because UZR has been proven to be 100% accurate.....
  14. I'm always confused when people say a pitcher is fine if his arm is strong. A players legs, hips, and torso are very important parts of the pitching equation, even for a pitcher like Fiers who relies more on control. The largest muscles in your body aren't in your arm and it is quite easy for a pitcher to be fatigued enough to throw off his control without his arm being impacted at all. Even with his YTD numbers he is a decent SP. I'm most excited about him because he's performed at EVERY level, while many of the current crop of young SP may have already put up their 'career' month.
  15. Parra has a lifetime 5.06 ERA. Why the heck are we still sending this guy out there? ERA can be misleading, however, the lifetime WHIP of 1.63 is truly impressive...... Maybe we can make up a hacking mass equivalent for Relief Pitchers and call it the Parra mass.....
  16. I've seen more optimism on death row......
  17. I've seen more optimism at a hospice.....
  18. Minneapolis-St.Paul is not a small market. ownership stinginess <> small market.
  19. So if a guy gets suspended for beaning someone for 5 games on August 30th they shouldn't be eligible for the post season? Where did I say that? Stop making [expletive deleted] up and attributing it to other people or is your reading comprehension so crappy? Reading brewerfan lately has become more of a pain than a pleasure because the level of discourse has gotten appreciably worse and this crap - where posters take comments completely out of context simply to be argumentative. In my opinion if the suspension will overlap 2 seasons, then the player shouldn't be eligible for the post season. If his suspension is up before the playoffs then he's done his time, if not, too bad... see you next season. Exactly.
  20. Now Colon is suspended for 50 games. What I find ridiculous is that both players could still play in the playoffs if there teams qualify and go deep enough. I think that doesn't make sense. I believe postseason rosters are fixed based on your 25 man on August 31st (barring injury replacement) and that should apply to this situation. Since both players won't be on the active 25 man roster on August 31st then they shouldn't qualify for the playoffs.
  21. Ron Roenicke 2011 = Ron Roenicke 2012 = Ron Roenicke 2013 = ..... = the only manager to make Ned Yost look smart.
  22. Imo it's pretty clearly that Melvin & Roenicke feel they owe something to K-Rod for his performance last season. Seriously? It's called a salary. And what do they owe him for mouthing off about closing near the end of the year? It was pretty clear last off-season nobody wanted to touch him partly because of his attitude, yet we make the mistake of offering arby, and somehow the brewers owe him something. If either of them think we owe him something they should hit the pavement and look for a new job.
  23. How about Mike Guerrero and Darnell Coles. They could manage a few games each and give RR's brain a rest. Say September 1st thru October 3rd......
  24. Tie game. Bottom of the order is up. So who does the brainiac put in, our closer to strike out the side. Now if the brewers score either KrapRod or Axturd will have to save the game. Brilliant bullpen management once again....
  25. Why is Livan Hernandez still pitching for the Brewers. I don't know in what universe he would be a part of the future plans. Parra is injured so bring up stetter.....
