  1. Who's Sharpie? DD. So named for his facial hair last year, I believe.
  2. I wouldn't expect each team to get more than 3 runs if that. You may be right. Houston has zero offense, so if we don't get totally owned by Oswalt, we have a shot.
  3. The victory was the Sounds? tenth last at-bat win of the year That seems like a really big number.
  4. So does ned jr have any skills? Lots of skills, man! Catching skills, battling skills, being gritty skills...
  5. I hate strikeouts. I really do.
  6. We strikeout more than any team in the history of the world.

  8. Callis seemed to be pretty positive that WAS is going to take him at 4.
  9. Callis ranked his top 10 on the espn chat today: Upton Gordon Maybin Mike Pelfrey Troy Tulowitzki Luke Hochevar Mike Pelfrey Drew Weaver Andrew McCutchen If Drew and Weaver sign, add Hansen and Miami 3B/OF Ryan Braun to make that 10. and, the all important "how will it actually play out" question: "as to how we think the Top 10 will go, it's still early but here's our best guess: Upton to Diamondbacks, Maybin to Royals, Gordon to Mariners, Zimmerman to Nationals, Pelfrey to Brewers (that might be a stretch, and no one ever knows what Brewers will do ahead of time), Cal State Fullerton LHP Ricky Romero to Blue Jays, Hochevar to Rockies, Tulowitzki to Devil Rays, Hansen to Mets, Braun to Tigers. Lots of rumors about the Royals going cheap at No. 2, but they insist that's not true. They also could take Gordon, which could push Tulowitzki up to the Mariners at No. 3, Maybin to the Brewers at No. 5 and Pelfrey to the Tigers at No. 10."
  10. Today's game is brought to you by Brady Clark, who is hitting .474 in May, and also by ESPN Wednesday Night Baseball!! I'm pumped! This game is also brought to you by Carlos Lee, now up to 3rd in the NL for RBI. Boy, I wish we'd never traded our base stealer for him... edit: Hmm, is it just regional? I'm seeing STL/PHI and SF/COL... (perhaps they realize NO one wants to watch SF/COL) edit2: ESPN2 *confirmed*. My above statement must be true. I had been looking at Yahoo TV listings, but those were old. Went to espn.com, and sure enough espn2 is Nats vs Crew. Hooray for National TV!
  11. Sigh. Thanks for playing Geoff, you can sit down now. Crimeny. You too Carlos. This stinks.
  12. Bob loves Paul Harvey. I love Brady Clark.
  13. Shouldn't Helms get SOME starts against lefties? Completely agree.
  14. It's a day game after a night game! Where's Moeller? Thankfully, he's already rested Miller enough this week.

It's somewhat disturbing that Spivey has as many HR and *more* RBI than Jenkins right now.. and why is Spivey a better 2 than Damian Miller??
  16. It's been too long without a game thread. Something had to be done. Capuano: (2-2, 4.04 ERA) Wells: (3-3, 4.53 ERA) This was too funny not to post. We need to do some pirate dumping this weekend: http://www.toothpastefordinner.com/011403/pirate-dumping.gif
  17. Crowd's chanting "Who's your daddy?" I love it.
  18. I must note that we just successfully executed a hit and run!
  19. You can try northsidebaseball.com, tho it gets pretty annoying because everyone has image sigs.. edit: apparently Glendon Rusch has his own bandwagon. Who knew?
  20. Last week many people thought the Brewers were headed for the worst record in the NL. A 4 game winning streak and we're close to .500 and this week we're great. I wasn't making any predictions, just looking at the home-road splits. That's all. It's the beginning of May, I know.
