  1. Everyone has nostalgia for the old Sportscenter days, myself included, but the truth is sports highlights are easily accessible now in a variety of different ways. The old model of Sportscenter doesn't work for ratings. They have to try and create content in other ways. Now the way they've treated MLB specifically is an issue I think ESPN can and should take blame for.
  2. Let me rephrase. I'm surprised so many dislike him as an announcer because I enjoy him quite a bit
  3. Surprised so many here hate Levering. As a part time fill in for when BA isn't here I think he's about as good as it gets for that role.
  4. I hope not. Selig becoming commissioner was a disaster for the Brewers
  5. We're back for another episode! The Wisconsin Women's hockey team wins a National Championship, it's a rough week on the hardcourt for college & professional teams in the state, and we preview the upcoming Brewers season(Brewers discussion begins at the 48:51 mark) Hope you enjoy!
  6. I enjoyed having real games an extra week ahead of the schedule, but golly I'd never want the Brewers to do this. Having to get up in the middle of the night to watch Opening Day would suck
  7. Hey everyone! We got a new episode my cohost and I dive into the busy ongoings of our favorite Wisconsin Sports teams. We discuss the conference tournaments & NCAA tourney draws for Wisconsin & Marquette, the Wisconsin Women's Hockey team advancing to the Frozen Four, the Bucks have an up & down week, the Brewers suffer some key pitching injuries and name a starting SS, and lastly we hit on the Packers signing WR Mecole Hardman. If you want to skip to just the Brewers talk that begins at the 47:32 Mark
  8. Even with a below average bat last year, Turang was nearly worth 5 WAR. He should absolutely be an everyday player
  9. Is something up with Payamps? He has yet to pitch in a game this spring
  10. This tells me the Brewers really weren't interested in him
  11. The Perkins injury might open up a roster spot for Capra, atleast initially. From there he'd have to take advantage of any opportunities he got during the season. I find it very unlikely he is the OD 3B regardless of what happens in spring
  12. In this week's episode of MVP: A Wisconsin Sports Podcast, Dave & Mark dive into -The week the Bucks get Ws against Denver & Dallss, plus the Bucks sign Ryan Rollins to a NBA contract. -UW-Green Bay Women's Basketball wins the Horizon League -Marquette knocks off Georgetown -Wisconsin falls to Michigan St -Wisconsin Women's Hockey advances in their conference tournament -The Brewers sign Jose Quintana -The Packers re-sign Isaiah McDuffie If you're purely interested in the Brewers content that begins at the 41:49 mark
  13. Jose Quintana last 3 seasons 3.75 ERA in 2024 3.57 ERA in 2023 2.93 ERA in 2022 A solid addition to the rotation As for the depth, pitchers are constantly hurt, teams regular use 10+ starters in a season.
  14. I think often times executives and coaches fail at the top job(manager or General Manager) and then people think that person must be an idiot or not know baseball. When often times they had to be really good at their previous job in order to get that opportunity in the 1st place. Getting someone like Eppler to help underneath Arnold seems like a win in my book.
  15. Hey everyone! I have been hosting a podcast for a few years now about Wisconsin Sports including the Milwaukee Brewers! Brock recommended that I start posting links here in case anyone wants to check out our discussion! Below is what this week's episode covers as well as a link to our episode! This episode we dive into the week the Bucks had, plus how the Bucks can replace Bobby Portis. Where do Wisconsin & Marquette currently stand heading into March? Lastly, what can we expect from the Brewers infield, plus how do the additions of Mark Canha & Manuel Margot impact this Brewers team. Brewers discussion specifically begins at the 41:20 mark! Hope you guys enjoy!
  16. He's barely played in AA, I get the excitement but let's give him some time in the upper minors first and not rush him
  17. Thought the ABS system in the game yesterday went super smooth. I'd like to actually see the number of challenges upped to 3 but that's nitpicking
  18. Canha had a 120 OPS+ vs LHP last season(88 vs RHP). He was a poor defender but as a part time player he certainly seems like he could fill a role
  19. I'd guess Canha & Margot are fighting for the Lefty platoon OF role until Perkins gets back
  20. Brewers among the teams interested in Jose Quintana https://x.com/hgomez27/status/1892745287292026956?t=ln7ZdOsDrMXLVZILOGMdHw&s=19
