  1. Tigers? Victor Martinez out for season perhaps............to be continued?
  2. Without looking at much and just being kind of stupid here but....Casey McGhee part two?
  3. I think Braun to 1b is more likely than Hart. However as was stated I think you let Aoki and Gamel both play it out and whoever is struggling between the two determines who stays a starter. Brauny would be willing to move I am almost sure of that.
  4. Any chance if Gamel flames out Hart/Braun could be moved to 1st base? I think the latter being moved to 1st would prolong his career. lf aokirf hart1b braun3b ramirez2b weeksc lucroycf morgan/gomezss gonzalez Or put hart behind weeks and let the cf platoon hit 2nd. i really wish this is what melvin would do and given Gamels lack of prooveness he better have a quick start next season assuming braun isn't playing 50 games.
  5. If it is between Krod and Carlos Pena I pick Krod every time. KRod+Gamel> Loe/Kintzler/anyone on team bullpen+Pena. Who wouldn't agree with this?
  6. I think with Saito signing the Crew needs to hold on to KROD. I get he is very expensive but it is only one year and this is a very underrated part of this team. I do not want RR to have any incling to trot out Loe in the 8th inning and right now a KROD trade would create a mess of guys for the 8th that I do not really trust right now. The team might even be one good reliever away from a great bullpen but I will take what we got right now and go to war with these guys come spring.
  7. I think at that price you seel the deal with Prince and then sign Furcal. Should be an intriguing week.
  8. IF that figure is true, let's hope Pujols signs ASAP not only to get him out of the division but also to hopefully prevent Florida from being in on the Reyes sweepstakes. This would be a huge huge win for the Crew. Now, if the Marlins go and blow their wad on both Pujols and Reyes....we've seen that song and dance and we can expect plenty of Marlins coverage this season.
  9. I think the exact opposite. I think regardless of $ he would tell it like it is and say he wouldnt want to play for a crap team. (Not saying Washington is a crap team but you get the point.)
  10. Just freeing up some money for Reyes/Fielder.........I would put this in blue but....... Anyway, I know Kotsay lives in SoCal but I wonder why he wouldnt go ring chasing or at least wait a little longer. Couldn't he leach on with the Angels/Dodgers as a part time player? I guess there is always the trade deadline.
  11. Come on Brewers! 5 years 100 million if it comes to that for Reyes you gotta pull the trigger. Anyone know if Reyes camp is looking more at the years or the $/ year. Obviously its always a little bit of both but I originally heard they offered him 3 years which would be absurd for him to take that.
  12. I was going to respond to a comment that said Greinke was saying something PR based and not speaking his true mind.............but i'll stick to the topic because those who know of the true Zack Greinke would never suggest something like that. Anyways, I heard a rumor from someone I know that Reyes was at least going to visit Milwaukee. Someone get the man a bratwurst and pronto.
  13. I've been pretty quiet here anticipating something happening this offseason . Anyway, putting my two cents worth in , I think the Brewers NEED the Reyes/Fielder signing. Anyone realize that our biggest free agent signings so far have been Randy Wolf/JEff Suppan. When is this going to change? I get the Crew won't be signing Pujols/Sabathia/Texiera/Fielder every single season......but it hasn't happened yet. I also get the finances aspect. I just think this is the offseason to do this . Reyes needs to be a Brewer.
  14. That's funny, Tony LaRussa was talking about getting a little sloppy himself. I wonder if the movie is Monsters Inc. That is on tonight. sigh......
  15. I'm not one to pull the race card.....and it crossed my mind briefly. But then again, Nyjer has had big time issues with controlling his anger whereas i am not sure Carpenter has. Nyjer has dug a deeper hole than Chris Carpenter has with MLB.
  16. I think you could give Reyes most of Princes money. Than give the rest of Princes money plus a little extra to Lidge. Oswalt might not be necessary but the first two guys I really think they could make work. IF necessary, trade Wolf or Hart.
  17. How about Brad Lidge or Roy Oswalt to the Brew Crew? Neither are there dominant selves anymore but both would be beneficial to the team...especailly Lidge. I think the Brewers need one more effective pitcher to add to that bullpen. It has been talked about on here about opportunities for closers this offseason but I am not sure that opportunity is out there this year for K Rod (let alone Lidge). Lidge would be perfect to step into the K Rod role . Oswalt wouldn't be a necessity, but as a 4th starter he would push Wolf to the 5th spot and Narveson to the pen. Narvey and Braddock in the pen would make for two lefties and more balance. I know money is not endless in Milwaukee but I think 2 of Reyes/Lidge/OSwalt is very possible.
  18. I can't believe I am going to do this but I am going to type a "fantasy" Brewer lineup without Prince Fielder...http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/eyes.gif Reyes SSMorgan CFWeeks 2bBraun LFGamel 1BHart RFGreen 3bLucroy C Depending on the killer G's......this lineup could really out produce last year. I would platoon Morgan and Gomez and put Gomez in the 8 spot when he plays. I would soft platoon Casey and GAmel or Casey and Green if Casey starts hitting again. Pray like hell Reyes and Weeks are able to stay healthy and this team makes the playoffs with a pitching roster like this: GallardoGreinkeMarcumWolf ( I wouldn't trade him unless ABSOLUTELY necessary to sign Reyes) If he is traded I go with Fiers Narveson BP: Estrada Braddock Fiers Kintzler McClendon, Hawkins, Saito, Axford (One won't make it) Braddock is key to bounce back. Damn does KROD make this bullpen look better...sigh. Bench: Kottaras (for Wolfy), gomez, hairston, mcghee, schafer/kotsay
  19. I wouldn't be opposed to the Brewers giving him a Gagne deal.I know money is the name of the game here and not talent but a lot of people are vastly underrating his value to this bullpen. Plus, it isn't like Axford didn't come out of nowhere. What if he struggles? The What if game can be dangerous, but having a Saito/Krod Axford bullpen was my favorite thing about this team. I think you offer him Arby, offer Prince the big deal ..then blow things up after 2012 when Greinke/Marcum presumably leave. One more year with this group (minus Betancourt/CAsey starting every day) and this team makes another big run.
  20. Two things: 1) Is it wrong I was looking into the dugouts in hopes of catching La Drunk picking his nose or something? 2) Wish they had these for "normal" games so I could see myself.....as long as I am not picking my nose or something... jk
  21. I wish we could keep this bullpen together. You know the one with HAwk/Krod/Saito/Ax. That may hurt worse then losing Prince.
  22. At least put Geoff Jenkins/Cirllo/Gumby in the suit. that would have been hillarious. and we all needed hillarious tonight.
