  1. No, I got the joke... I just also thought that it'd be funny for them to get into a bidding war over Mo "I Can't Run an Offense" Williamshttp://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  2. Whose leg injuries were so bad that he's lost almost all of the explosiveness that made him a high draft pick. Pass. It'd be a sign-and-trade... but doesn't Atlanta also have a whole bunch of cap room?
  3. I'm actually going to beg to differ with the Boy of Foam and go with Mike Conley. Mo Williams? Please. He can't run an offense, as evidenced by last season's numbers. Mo averaged 15.4 shots per game. That's an awful lot for a point guard. Jason Kidd averaged 11.3 and Steve Nash averaged 12.8. Heck, even Chris Paul averaged 13.6 and Deron Williams 13.5. Not to mention that Nash was actually more efficient than Williams, scoring over a point/game more on far fewer shots. Keep in mind that taking a lot of shots is not a good thing for a point guard - it's his job to distribute the ball to the players with the best opportunities to score. A good point guard will get that done in any system. Mo Williams has shown that he is not capable of doing that, getting to even 8 assists only 20 times last season (in 68 games). The fact that the Bucks were 11-9 in those games is evidence that when the ball is distributed well, the Bucks are more likely to win. Watch Mo try to run the offense. Most of the time, he'll run the shot clock down before even trying to move the ball/make something happen... and that will translate into poor shots, poor passing opportunities, and fewer points. Mo had no options for most of the year, you say? False. At the very least he had Patterson and Bell for 80+ games. Yes, neither of them are great options (although they're not bad options, either) but... again, if more people are scoring it means that the ball is getting distributed around better, there's a better shot selection going on, and the team's more likely to win. So Mo's 24. He's also been in the league what, 4 years now? And a full-time starter for two of those, plus a part-time starter for a third? The argument that Mo needs more time to mature is somewhat lost on the fact that he has played 4 seasons already. And that Chris Paul and Deron Williams are both younger than Mo... and already are far more effective at running the point. Mo Williams is best-suited as either a 2-guard or a sixth man that can provide a scoring punch off of the bench.
  4. Wow. I find Russ to be one of the most knowledgable and statistically savvy posters on here. So... were you a fan during the Bando Era? If you're a Brewers fan, you're a fan for life... no matter who the GM, manager, or owner is!http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  5. I miss that guy Honestly, I think we could run the Brewers by committee http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif Although there might be some awful fights when we decide to trade Mench and Jenkins... and whether or not to re-sign CoCo...
  6. Williams is not that good of a point guard. Given the amount of shots he takes rather than passing the ball... plus the fact that he can't run an offense worth anything... I'll pass on him. Seriously. Mo Williams is NOT a point guard. A backup #2, yes, but NOT a point guard.
  7. Yep. He's back to healthy now: Per CBSSportsline.Com: Good to hear.
  8. Didn't he just have knee surgery...?
  9. Wow. I'm late to the party but wow. Nice first post Couga. Although you *did* forget the in-fighting caused by the army of Sanchezes on the former team. If we look at the 78 batters that qualified for the batting title last season in the NL, a .345 OBP would have him tied with Bill Hall for 53rd. Within the 160 qualified hitters in MLB last year, he would have been tied for 102nd. So... the 25th percentile would be at about .334 (Adam Kennedy/Jaque Jones/Jimmy Rollins), the 75th percentile would be at about .374 (Brian Giles/Jorge Posada/Kevin Millar), and the 50th percentile was at .355 (Troy Glaus/Mike Cameron/Paul Lo Duca). So I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that Counsell's career .345 OBP isn't anything all that special. Don't worry, FTJ. I got your back!
  10. He's still playing?? I think I just threw up a little in my mouth...

  14. Ned was playing the "Well, Rowand is on fire versus righties this year but only at his norm versus lefties. I'll just bring in the lefty that's struggling against righties and hope that Rowand hits him just a little."
