  1. Square, Exactly whom do you expect to play OF for Milwaukee in the coming years? We have no legit OF power prospects. Jenkins is a perfect fit in Milwaukee and should be signed to a long term deal. If they DID let him go via free agency who the hell do you think they could sign who could reproduce his numbers? Give me a list so we can discuss it. I cant think of anyone who would sign with the crew who will put up impact numbers like jenks can, has and will. Get over all this injury BS. Its over. He is healthy. He plays the game hard. He might get hurt. So might everyone. Vlad is hurt this year. It happens. He hits the ball like a freakin madman. Relish the fact that we have a player of his caliber and stop dreaming of trading him for a couple of AA players who are completly unproven. We gave up Sheffield of complete crap. We dumped Vaughn for a pile of dung. Lets not make another stupid mistake. Who would replace jenks if he left? Let me know about all your brilliant ideas.
  2. If we are stupid enough to trade jenkins then I never ever ever ever want to hear another brewer fan ***** about how we never have any talent on this team again. We finally get a big time stud in our lineup and all of a sudden we decide its time for another team to reep the benifits? Good grief. The grass always seems to be greener for brewer fans like you. Unproven talent for a guy who can flat out rake ? No thanks.
  3. Apparently Rich Donnely had a few too many gin and tonics prior to the game. How can you put the stop sign up with Helms rounding 3rd on patterson (who couldnt throw out his grandma) with the pitcher spot coming up? It was a given that Ford would K leaving EY hanging out to dry with all the pressure of getting a clean hit. That was a brutal bit of base coaching.
  4. I have come to the conclusion that if weeks is there at #2 he has to be picked. His college numbers are so astronomically ridiculous that he might be an absolute monster some day. Check these numbers out. AB-535 HR-49 SLG-.935 RBI-228 R-248 AVG-.469 SB-58 If you got these numbers on your video game you would sell it because it was unrealistic. These are some sick numbers. It will be great fun tracking Rickie through the Brewers system. Opening day 2005 Weeks name will be up on the Miller Park scoreboard.
  5. whoa whoa whoa, "And I also am intrigued by Alliston. If he can learn to throw at about 90 mph, he could be a dominant #1 pitcher. " You would have melvin pass over one of the consensus top 2 to draft a pitcher who doesnt hit 90 on the guns?? Say it aint so man.
  6. The thing that intrigues me about weeks can be summed up in two words, "bat speed". In case you missed all my blabbering about royce claytons lack there of, you probably dont know that I like guys who possess superhuman bat speed. Having never even seen a highlight of weeks I am reduced to trusting the reports I hear and the reports are that Weeks has freakishly good bat speed. Me likey.
  7. dhonks you are usually right on the money with your posts but this one suprises me. Do you really think Weeks or Young can be passed over for Sleeth? Explain why. What do you know that we dont?
  8. After listening to the Baseball America interview with Jim Powell I am left feeling uneasy. It sounds like a lock that TB will take Young which leaves us with Weeks who has battered inferior competion. BA also mentioned Weeks wanting 6 million to sign. I am forseeing major problems signing this guy if we draft him. I am begining to think we are going to take Sleeth or someone like that. Frick. I wanted D Young.

  10. Ok I am approaching this topic completly uniformed. Tell me why I should be excited by this news. I know nothing about him at the moment. Give me details.
  11. Battle. Very good SquareP. I'll give you that one! Nice work! Battle. I like that one.
  12. It seems like Loewen is going to be available. Thats a good thing for the crew because it means we can end up with either Young or Loewen. Regardless of who TB takes one of those 2 will be available. I just hope we dont take the "wrong" guy and in 6 years we all look back and groan. I still really like the idea of having Fielder and Young launching away in the minors in the Milw organization.
  13. If he is Prior-like then yes take him and go with it, What does that mean? Mark Prior. You may have heard of him. I asked if he was a prospect with as much potential as Prior. Sorry if that was such a freakin mistake in your eyes. I will do my best to never inquire about a player in such an uncool way. I am sure you find much more interesting and savvy ways of asking questions. I just am trying to gauge whether or not Loewen is good enough to pass over a big time hitter like weeks or young.
  14. colby, I know all that but you didnt get to the heart of the matter. I want to know if loewen is a cant miss ace of the future. If he is Prior-like then yes take him and go with it, but if he is just the best of a bunch of average pitchers then get another bopper. I still think its going to be young. Someone break down Loewen please!
  15. Ok it seems to me after a LITTLE bit of research that its going to be one of 3 possible players. Young, Weeks or Loewen. For some reason I am intrigued with the idea of having Fielder and Young lurking in our farm system but Weeks is apparently a stud prospect as well. How clear is it that Loewen is ace material?? I just dont know that much about him? Who is he most like in the big leagues now? Someone with more info than me please handicap this 3 way horserace for the rest of us.
  16. Brewer Ticket is the 30 minute pregame show on fox sports net.
  17. I dont pretend to be able to predict what Mil will do in the draft but the article in the MJS this morning seemed to indicate that TB is leanding toward Young which would leave Mil with Weeks. The article said the Brewers arent that interested in any of the pitchers available with the 2nd pick due to risk. They claim Weeks could be in the Brewer lineup in a couple years and would be very hard to pass up if available. I still am kind of hoping for Young. Fielder and Young batting in the middle of that order in 2005 or 2006 sounds nice.
