  1. I told you yesterday about Clemens going down soon in the steroid bust.
  2. Ohka has been really solid. He is legit.
  3. like is said before... its too bad milw is so far out and such a longshot for the WC because in a 5 or 7 game series they can play with any team in the NL outside of Stl.
  4. Its too bad that its such a longshot to get the WC spot because I feel like this team can compete with anyone in the NL in a series (besides SL)
  5. I will say again that I just dont think Yost does smart things while writing out the lineup card and managing in game. I am sure he is a great motivater and the players like him and would defend him, but he is just sort of stupid. I was hoping that he was going to be a great choice when they hired him, but he screws up so much that I am ready to try someone else. I was on vacation last week so I was unable to go on a tirade when he allowed sheets to hit with runners on the corners and 1 out in the bottem of the 7th down by a run. I almost blew a gasket. I was wondering what the brewefan consensus was on that move. I thought it sucked 100%. Even if it had worked, it was the absolute wrong move.
  6. I hope I am not just perpetuating a false rumor but I just heard through the grapevine that another BIG name player is going down in the streroid crackdown. I wont name names but he is the most famous pitcher in the Houston/Milwaukee series. Once again, this is from a very shaky source who claims to have a solid source. Just throwing it out there. I apoligize if I am just biting on a stupid rumor, but it in fact is making its way around the rumor circuit.
  7. Do you think anyone really cares if they win 81 games? I refuse to believe anyone really gives a crap if the Milwaukee Brewers finish .500. I think that is the worst goal in the history of sports. If thats is what keeps you glued to the tv for the games, fine, but I think you are in the vast majority. Once again you are missing my point. I am not saying that its likely that Milwaukee MAKES the postseason, nor will most people be upset if they dont. What is reasonable and possible is that they play well enough to close the gap a few games between now and game 145. If they are within 3 games of the WC spot with 15 to play, there would be a serious buzz in the air and people would be going through the rough waiting for these games. If they are simply trying to get that elusive 81st win, the clamour will be far less.
  8. Fine then they might not "control their destiny" by definition, but they control the next 40 games and as a result control how this season will unfold. What they control is the ability to go a tear and put serious pressure on teams at the top of the heap. I dont think anyone here will... A-Be truely satisfied being 81-81 and 10 games out of the WC. That means their arent any truely heartwrenching games down the stretch. B-Be truely disapointed if they go 84-78 and 3 games out of the WC. That would most likely mean that down the stretch the entire 162 there were still matmatical chances for Milw to pull off a miracle. I think what Brewer fans want is to have games in the last 10 of the year that have playoff implications. That would be nearly as good as making the postseason. The point is that making the postseason is not really the idea this season. What would be most entertaining is if they can somehow make a run and have the last 10 games of the season be exciting beyond belief. Can you imagine sitting with your sweatshirt on, feeling the cool breeze, looking at the leaves beginging to turn and waiting to see if Milwaukee can put some pressure on Houston or Philly for the WC? I get goosebumps just thinking about Autumn Baseball. There is no reason this team cant do just that.
  9. Thats incorrect. Milwaukee controls its destiny. Not just because they play Houston 10 times. Because they have over 40 games left and havent lost any of them yet. They control their destiny because they are still mathematically alive. Its a complete longshot but I have been saying for weeks that they are one good win streak away from being smack dab in the middle of the race. A streak of 6-8 games would put them right in the heart of the WC chase. It can still happen. It just gets harder with every loss.
  10. Houston lost. Cubs could go in there and win a pair. Brewers will be either 4.5 or 5.5 behind Houston when that series starts. Winning 3 of 4 would put them at either 2.5 or 3.5 out. Best case scenario but not out of the realm.
  11. Milwaukee needs this game. As bad as this streak has been, a streak in the other direction with the head to head vs Houston coming up could turn things around again. Milwaukee needs this game and MUST sweep or take 2 in Col.
  12. we are getting creamed. Better luck tomorow.
  13. lets get the bats going. 3.5 is calling!
  14. a bomb by the number 8 hitter. Unfortunate.
  15. Does it rattle any of the "realists" on this board that at the end of the day Milwaukee COULD be 3.5 out of the WC spot? Still a longshot but, stranger things have happened. There have been tons of people here saying that anyone who can look at this team and think they have a shot at the postseason is lost. I disagreed from day one of spring training, which I happened to attend. There are no glaring weak spots on this team and there are not a lot of other teams in the NL who are far and away superior to this team. I have liked the make up of this roster from early on and its fun to seem them get in the mix like lots of us thought they could.
  16. I had to watch Mr 3000 on charter on demand last night. It was perfect. I had Brewer fever and really needed the Brewer fix! I recomend it!
  17. Sheets dominates tomorow. Put your $$ on Big Ben. He is going to mean business.
  18. Ben Sheets gets a chance to get this team to .500. I love it.
  19. Jenkins OPS .881 Lee OPS. .881 Clark OPS. 816 Thats a damn fine outfield.
  20. I LOVE IT! We should have SWEPT! Dang.
