A person familiar with the talks told SI.com that Milwaukee inquired about Schmidt's willingness to come there and hasn't been told no yet so it may also make an offer.The Schmidt sweepstakes is not expected to drag on too much longer.

    There you go, there is Brewer baseball at its finest for the last couple months. Since only one guy per inning can hit, just keep stealing till they throw you out, better chances then waiting to get hit in.     Nothing like putting out an 2nd string team out there for a guys debut, like Yost is telling him "there ya go son its all on you." Before anyone says he had a bad outing, first its his first time out, second no matter how good they are you have to expect they are going to give up 3-4 runs, hell this is a rookie pitching for the first time in the bigs. Finally doenst anyone believe putting you best lineup no out there and showing the other team you have to beat out best guys to win. I mean F&@k the numbers, who cares, no power and you have pinch hitters and runners in your starting lineup. As much as i like Yost and his belief in hard work and attitud i think any one of us on this board could manage just as well as he does. I don t post much on this board but my wife is getting sick of me yelling and swearing everytime i listen or watch the game.

    I dont know if anyone noticed after Russell went yard he came back to the bench and after he put his helmet away went over to Yost and tapped him on the should and said something like "how'd you like that" and yost just looked forward with the scowl of a 5 yr old being told they cant have a cookie..lol.

    I am a long time reader of this board, and woudll like to add my 2 cents. I agree that Oby isnt the best pitcher in the world and i feel that he is better served in the Bullpen. He seems to be pretty good for 3-4 innings but after that is done. If you take away the mistakes in this game he would have probably pitched 4-5 scoreless. On the other hand you cant lay all the blame on him. This team needs to know that he is out there and he is going to give up 3-5 runs in a game, sad but true; but the simple fact is that this team is horrible hitting. If i see Jenkins swing at the first pitch i am going to go to Min and beat him myself. How many times this year have we seen Jenkins with guys on base swing at the first one and ground into a double play, it kills me. I am sorry for the long post but instead of looking to the mound for blame lets look to the men swinging the bats.
