  1. This sounds like the person at a garage sale walking up with something marked $.50 and asking if you will take a dime for it.
  2. Trade deadline is one thing, but why go through all the effort a second time to not do anything. Obliviously its likely that one side was being stubborn, but still. You are negotiating over pennies at his point.
  3. The guy tweeted "White Power," "KKK," and "I hate gays." If he's "ruined," I think he deserves a large part of the blame. Again, he was a minor. I work with minors every day, it's my job. If everything I hear them say, write, etc. comes back on them 7 years from now, I can't comprehend how that helps our society. What he did was dumb, but should it effect the rest of his life? I havent seen them all, but are those from 2011 or from the faked 2016 tweets.
  4. This story will last a day, and will be gone. MLB teams could not care less about these tweets for the most part. They dont change the fact that he is a top talent. If they put him up for trade, they would have calls from every team.
  5. This story will last 2 days if that and will be gone. Local media might keep it alive, but once Manny is traded, everything is gone. Also, does it matter that most of the tweets from when he was 17 were rap lyrics or movie quotes change anything?
  6. Did Brock Lesner arrive?? And if he did and is delivering that many F5s, just who ticked him off???? #Refreshcity
  7. got his hit, now take him out.
  8. Still showing on the Gameday as the DH, so I guess we wont know for sure till he bats again.
  9. If we are talking Gallo vs Nimmo, I take the chance on a power hitting 3rd baseman than an OF. They have 5 or more in the minors equal to or the potential of Nimmo.
  10. If that is the best offer, I would be disappointed.
  11. He has already made it clear that he wouldn't get in the way to go to a contender. That doesnt mean, as has been noted that he wouldnt want something in return(extension), but I dont really see it as a hang up.
  12. I do have a feeling we as fans think we are going to get Bonestorm but in reality end up with Lee Carvallo's Putting Challenge.
  13. Pinto and Pina were the counter to any speculation of TDA to the Brewers. Not saying either is as good, but they likely would provide enough to limp along for a couple years.
  14. Like others have mentioned, and judging by Sterns comments last night, I feel he has deals lined up but everyone is waiting for a couple other deals to beak the seal. As for a trade, while starting pitching is needed, I really think an impact bat needs to come back to.
  15. Boras complaining here isnt about Davies, its more about the practice in general. But he can complain all he wants, its a common practice. This is essentially a road trip for him. I am sure that he isnt out anything other than the 24k, which is significant, but as others stated, could easily be made up for. As an aside, per diem for MLB players, about $100 IIRC per day, doesnt go far. Most of that goes back to the club to pay for pre/post game meals, in dug out snacks and tips to the club house guys.
  16. Others can speak to this more, but when they are signed, they are moved to the Brewers academy, which is essentially a prep school. When they arent playing baseball they are attending classes.
  17. If he is trading now, fine. He also knows that with his age, injury history and poor performance last year that he needs to go out and prove himself early on. If he is still with the Brewers at the beginning of the year, I fully expect him to play it like a contract year.
  18. Had he been on a cy young campaign, he still would have likely left the team to be with her. Apparently there were/are chances of complications.
  19. Olt for any of those positions over any of the players you listed. For the sake of something different or because you think he has more to offer? I could see 3rd, but not First.
  20. Who would you rather see get the chance, Olt(if claimed) or Dominguez? Its not like Olt is going to be 1B over Clark, Rodgers or others.
  21. I know hindsight, but with them knowing he had some arm/shoulder issues this year at UVA, maybe they would have been better off giving him the rest of the year and starting fresh next year.
  22. Playing for Team Canada
  23. Melvin knows that the only way to get the best deal is deal him now before the deadline. The likelihood that he makes it through waivers is slim and add to that, the lowered price tag. If he is still here then I still suggest you offer him the QO which he will likely decline and take the pick.
