Why not Graffy in LF instead of Mench
whynotthebrewers replied to rousieboy's topic in Milwaukee Brewers Talk
So now graffy has gone from "why is he ever playing" to "play him part time in left" guy? This is why I try to keep a level head during the season. Different guys get hot from time to time and fans seem to drift with who they want in the lineup. This is also where I think ned is doing a great job. He may get ripped for his use of people and lineus used but he knows that players go through good and bad periods. If fans had there choice, we would have a different lineup every week. I like the way things are now. Players know their roles and we are doing well with it. Just leave it alone. -
Some are upset when we sit more than one starter on a given day. Then they are upset when only one sits. But then others are mad when weeks struggles. It's really a no win situation.

Official Silver Lining Thread
whynotthebrewers replied to foamboy1's topic in Milwaukee Brewers Talk
K Rod blew a save yesterday. You mean other teams blow saves as well? I had no idea! -
Theres not a team in baseball with a worse set-up guy than T-Bow. Its Melvin that has an unfounded love affair with him, not Yost. Hopefully someday soon Melvin realizes that it might be a good idea to get the type of set-up guy the rest of the contenders have. You know, one of the guys with an ERA I didnt want to start up this argument but this comment is so far off. You need to realize that he is good, not Melvin. He numbers are fine and except for a few games he has been great. You listed a couple good relievers but a couple have numbers just like Bow. And all of them have games where they blow up. Bow just has higher numbers because he really sucks it up when he has a bad game. But even Shields, who has great numbers, gave up a game against Cleveland when they were in town. So he is not perfect and I would bet he has had other bad outings as well. Point is, he is not the worst out there, and some of the guys you listed, are worse than he is. If you think all of the contenders have better pens, why did you only list a few of the teams. The statement is false and there really are not many good ones out there.

Have to score more than 3 runs so I cannot completely put htis on the pitching even though that is the way it looks. We kept them in the game and didn't put them away early enough. Back at it tomorrow.
-
Anyone with me? No, seeing there are not better options there.
-
Look around the league. There are not many good catchers at all. Just a tough position to find good help at.
-
Giving up one hit is all you can take huh? Tough crowd in these parts. It would help if we could ever throw a runner out.
-
I agree with that Ender but it just always seems like there are things we should or could have done when we lose.
-
Here is comes again. When we lose its ned's fault.
-
Bow haters do realize that most teams have worse options that him. There just aren't that many guys out there who are better because all the good ones are closers. And even the best blow games. What will we cry out when an "elite" guy would blow a lead? The only way we get a better guy, which I have no idea who it would be, would be give up a big prospect or something. We have a pretty good bullpen compared to the playoff contending teams. I don't know why we get so worked up when we give up runs. It happens and there has never been a perfect pitcher.
-
Does that mean that he gets credit for all the games that he has won for us?
-
And the Graffy comes thru again. Gotta love it. Nice reserves to have around.
-
This is the type of ump that really pissed me off when pitching. You have to throw it in the soup can for it to be a strike.
-
Well with Hardy out and Prince needing a day, its what we got. No reason to say it over and over, and each time CC and graffy are in the lineup. They are average MLB players and fill in when needed. And it has been pretty decent lately so I can't complain.
-
We have to have a lineup like this once in awhile and you might as well do it against a JV type team. Yo can pitch a great game and our bats have been so hot and can put some runs up for him, Let's get another win and get ready for some more divisional play this week.
-
Jenkins pinch hit already, and Gwynn was getting his luggage off the carousel in Nashville. This is why some fans need to check themselves sometimes. If you are going to rant, please have a good point to make. This is serious nit-picking on Yost. You could see Yo was a bit tired and it's not odd to get him out a bit early in his first start. And now everyones favorite giy, Villy, is not a good option? He was the second coming for most of his stay here and now Yost gets bashed for bringing him in? Odd. Yost can't even win when we win some games. Sucks for him.

Is everyone ok without Graffy of Counsell in there? Kidding but they are a nice backup plan when needed. Let's start a new win streak today.

Wise was probably not available either seeing he rarely goes back to back days. -

Rluz you should know that teams "know" how to win when things are going well and "they forget" during long losing streaks. -
This is why we won't pay Coco insane money for next year. Closers are too inconsistent and for the most part its an easy job. I waited to come back to the thread until after the game but this is the best quote. Easy?? Ya, that's why there are so few good ones in the game. This should be in blue if anything because that is just insane to say that. Especially with the batters he was facing in this inning. All that said, some of his 0-2 pitchers were not exactly good but the batters still had to hit them.

Hart's arm is ummmm not very good. That was like a little league throw.

Congrat on #1000 K for Sheeter.

Ya I have the proxy setting working and am watching the game. You have to change it every so often as they only work for so long. You can send me a message if you need more info but I have it working fine. Its pretty nice to have during these afternoon games.
