  1. That's exactly the point i was trying to make. Maybe I sucked at it. haha. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/roll.gif Nice work RyDogg
  2. It's just how the organization is run. The veterans teach the young ones what it takes to be successful and how important the little things (hitting cut off men, not giving extra bases, not giving extra outs, getting down bunts) are. It is what has made the Braves so successful...the young players stepping in and never missing a beat. I dream for the days that the Brewers are able to put everything together. The talent is starting to arrive.
  3. If you compare the stats of those 2 lineups position by position (replace Moeller with Miller and just because of the "type" of players they are...compare Lee to A. Jones and Clark to Langerhans) they are so similar it's scary. That just further prooves my point earlier today that they Braves really aren't that much more talented than the Brewers. They just know what it takes to win because they haven't lost in so many years.
  4. What do ya say we get 6 runs and tie this thing up?!?!? Come on Crew!! Get the sticks goin.
  5. I was hoping for that, but I think it counts as a completed game now. You only need 5 innings to complete a game and I would assume that even if the 5th inning isn't completed, if the home team is leading, it would be equivelant to the bottom of the 9th? Am I right on this? Anoyone know for sure? Either way I hope it starts up again here in a little bit because I think the Crew can get a few runs and win this thing.
  6. I have a good feeling about today. Brewers 8 marlins 4. Let's hope my feeling is right and Scoop's is wrong. A split after such a promising start would be a bummer going into Atlanta to play the red-hot braves.
  7. In an attempt to end the brutal game-thread from last night's debacle..... I post the official game thread for the game today which has the first pitch in just over 90 minutes. I can't wait!!!!
  8. WOW!! McKeon makes Ned look like a rocket scientist.
  9. Atta kid JJ!!! That makes up for some of the rockets that have been caught earlier in the season. He is really starting to look comfortable at the plate.
  10. Nah. Get the Major League Baseball Extra Innings package and sit down and watch the Rockies, Pirates, Reds, Royals, Mariners, or Giants on a regular basis. The Brewers are actually one of the more exciting young teams out there. I'm having a blast this year. If it's hard for you to watch---don't!

  12. Given the optoin of Helms or Hardy...I'd let the kid play against Wood because then you are better defensively. Plus it is good experience for Hardy to get 3 or 4 AB's against Kerry Wood. Hardy's been coming around lately and I think he'll be good for a hit or 2 today. Also predicting a Geoff Jenkins BOMB.
  13. That's a good guess considering Moeller is Sheets personal catcher and Sheets is on the hill.
  14. He wasn't the best tacktination in the game of baseball when we won 4 games in a row and he managed the bullpen brilliantly....pushed all the right buttons with pinch hit moves....let Magruder hit against the Cubs for a 2-run game tying single when everyone else wanted Overbay or Jenkins or Fielder....Hit Fielder with 2 on the other night.....I could go on and on..... Bottom line is when the team loses it's somehow Ned's fault (either the lineup, the pinch hitters, the management of the staff, the hit and run in the 3rd inning that "cost the team the game", blah blah blah....when the team wins it's always the players winning "in spite of Ned". Bottom line---this is a .500 team...they are going to win some games and lose some games. Don't live and die with every game and every decision. I would take my chances with runners on 2nd and 3rd with Clark and Weeks needing a single to tie the game 100 times out of 100. I dont' care what that little state that you found on the internet says. That doesn't say what the "number of runs scored with runners on 2nd and 3rd with your 2 best hitters coming up" as the Brewers would have had if Durrington gets the bunt down. I enjoyed the game last night and look forward to Sheets and Cappy today and tommorrow.

  16. I like the lineup. It sounds like 8 runs. Also, I dont think the Crew will give up another run until July. Starting tonight Vampire, Sharpie, Big Ben, Cappy, and Ohka will fire consecutive shutouts until the calender changes. Let's hope we can score a run each night. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/roll.gif http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/roll.gif Just to clarify..this post is tongue in cheek, but it sure would be nice to start getting some runs for our outstanding pitching staff.

  18. What's odd is when JJ was really struggling at the plate...Ned kept saying "we've got to let him work through this." Well he worked through it and has been hitting the ball well and taking great approaches and now he can't get on the field. It's hard to fault playing Hall right now though and I still feel like they want to "showcase" Spivey to the Yankees. I'd be surprised if Hall doesn't start most of the weekend. Also, most of the year when Moeller plays, Hardy sits. And with Miller out, that's the case. GO CREW!!
  19. Your ace cruises through 3 innings. He gives up a couple of back-to back homers with 2 outs in the 4th. He still has good stuff in the 5th despite giving up the tying run. I'm sorry, but I have no problem bringing him out for the 6th. Drew got a fastball and hit it out to make it 5-3. Tip your hat to Drew. Take Sheets out and hope you can score 2 more runs to get him off the hook. You people would bash Yost if the team won 110 games. Sheets is their ace. You dont pull an ace in a 3-3 game in the 6th inning. Get a clue.
  20. I'm sorry. I admit I was wrong. My Russell bashing the last few weeks can be put to rest. I'll deal with the K's the next month if it will get me a 2-run homer to tie it off Peavy!! Let's get some MORE runs!!!
  21. I actually really like seeing different teams and think it is one of Bud Selig's greatest accomplishments as commisioner (along with adding the wild card teams and cracking down on steroids).
  22. Less than 7 hours til first pitch!!!!!! I wonder who the DH will be!! I can't wait for the lineups to be announced. I'm predicting: Clark CF Cirillo 3B Jenkins RF Lee LF Overbay 1B Miller C Magruder DH Hardy SS
  23. I'm so excited for the game tonight!!! I hated losing 2 out of 3 to the Pirates, but it's baseball and you can't win every series. If they can just limit their losing streaks to a game or 2 until they get big ben back they'll be right in the thick of the race most of the year. Here's to winning 3 outta 4 in D.C. Whatdya say Brewers fans!?!?!?
