  1. You're assuming Miller gets a hit. That's where I said you are basing that on his .350 average over 11 games. The way you wanted it would have required 2 PEOPLE to get on base safely (miller, cirillo, or magruder). I'm saying...Miller successfully puts down a bunt...and you need one of cirillo or magruder to get a hit. I just like my odds of needing 1 of 2 (50%) to get a hit. Instead of 2 of 3 (67%). It's not really worth arguing. I guess we just have different opinions. I've been an avid baseball fan since I was little and I can't think of too many situations where I wouldnt have bunted there unless Barry Bonds was up with Billy Jo Robedeaux and Alex Sanchez were on deck.
  2. Exactly my point. By bunting the runners over you only need one of Cirillo or magruder to single and the game is tied. By letting miller swing away, you need 2 of them to get on. You are defending my argument. Thanks. You make this easy.
  3. Um how about the 3-run homer by Magruder 3 innings earlier? How about the double by Cirillo in his previous at-bat? OK...let's let you have your way for a second. You say the bottom 3 had no chance at all whatsoever to get on base. Miller singles. 8-7. Cirillo-magruder-hardy do as you suspect and we lose 8-7. The best option was to bunt them over and hope for one of the 2 of them to get a basehit instead of hoping for 2 hits. Any baseball sense would make this a no-brainer.
  4. A bunt in that situation is an absolute no brain decision. You put runners on 2nd and 3rd and give 2 guys a shot at a single to tie the game. I'm sorry if you disagree with his strategy and you want to throw out stats (based on 11 games). It didnt work out because Miller didn't get the bunt down on the first pitch, but he still struck out looking so he had a shot.
  5. I disagree. HR by Lee in the 10th to win it.
  6. I care. I'm actually really excited. The pitching this year has been fantastic. If we could just get healthy and get a few guys going (Lee especially) I think good things are on the horizon. Gotta love Brewers baseball on the radio on a sunny afternoon. I definitely will be skipping class today and being outside listening to Ueck and Jimmy P. Here's to the beginning of a streak that will make everyone forget about the start. Oh yea..and JJ snaps out of it today. GO CREW!!!!!!!!!!!http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/happy.gif http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/happy.gif
  7. We're fine. We'll get 3 in the 5th and 3 in 7th. Mark it down.
  8. Anyone else just look at a stopwatch from the time wes helms walks into the box until the time he strikes out?? It's not a matter of if, but when. He doesn't even have a chance!!! And I like the guy..as a person, but he is so bad!!
  9. rluzinski Sorry about the previous post. I didn't even take the time to see who posted it, but looking back I generally agree with most everything you say. I am just frustrated by all the negativity towards Yost, when it's been mostly about execution in my opinion this year. Can't get mad at a guy who has an Ashlee Simpson picture in his posts!!!!! http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/roll.gif
  10. It's idiots like this poster that make me not want to read the board anymore. Every time something goes wrong it's Ned's fault. Well, guess what? Sometimes players have to execute. It's not Ned's fault that Spivey can't get down a bunt. It's not Ned's fault that Brady Clark popped up to first base with runners at the corners and 1 out the other day. It's not Ned's fault that when Spivey tried to steal 2nd he had about a 2 step lead and a piss-poor jump. Just listening to all you guys spew about what a poor job Ned Yost does makes me vomit in my mouth. That's what is embarassing. It has nothing to do with trying to use your #2 hitter to bunt your leadoff hitter into scoring position for your #3 and #4 hitter. Maybe your numbers are messed up, but my numbers tell me to try to steal 2nd base with Spivey so that my #3 and #4 hitters just need a single to tie the frickin' game. Apparently my numbers and Ned's numbers are the same and your numbers are the ones that are messed up.
  11. WHERE IS JORGE!?!?!??!?! PHELPS AGAIN?!?!?! With Turnbow, Adams, Wise, and De La Rosa all out there? grrrrrrrrrr And I LOVE Yost, but still would prefer the pitchers who have had success out there over Phelps. But the Double play shows he must know what he's doing.
  12. Everyone lay of Geoff Jenkins. For crying out loud..he had a bad day at the plate yesterday against one of the biggest strikeout pitchers of this era. The season is 3 games old and people are already calling for Geoff's head. He will help the Brewers win their fair share of games this year, despite his propensity to strike out. There is no way Geoff Jenkins should ever be hit for late in a game because of his proven ability to come up with big hits. Geoff Jenkins has earned the right to fight through a rough game and try to win it late with a big hit.
  13. I've got a great feeling about JJ here. I think Brewer fans are going to LOVE this guy very very early in his career.
  14. Not that it matters, but day games are generally on ESPN Radio 1070 in Madison and I just looked and today is no exception. 1070 it is.
  15. I can do a running log for awhile for those of you not by a tv or radio. Santos on the hill.... Top 1st Podsednik--Full count..Ripped a 1B up the middle. Iguchi---Line shot to right caught by Magruder F-9 1 out. Everett--Pods CS--Miller threw him out...not even close. 2 out. K Swinging. 3 out. End of 1/2 inning----0-0. Garland on the hill... Bottom 1st Clark--Hit a chopper to 3rd...diving play 5-3. 1 out Spivey--2 out (didn't catch how) Overbay--1B to right, but Konerko didnt see it off the bat and probably could have made a play on it. Lee-- Was going to watch the whole game, but something came up. Looks like i'll be catchin ueck and jimmy on the radio..have a good one guys!!
  16. Anyone know who's throwing for the Crew in the 2 games today?? Thanks in advance!!!
  17. All the ensuing posts made it clear for me. THANKS!!!! Who else has pitched today besides Davis (3 runs) and JDR?
  18. These posts give nothing to the person not listening to the game. I'm checking on here for updates and I have to piece together what you might mean by your posts. Does "Enrique Cruz SALAMI TIME!!!" mean he's up with the bases loaded? He hit a grand slam? He's eating salami on the bench? How bout being a lil more informative in your post. Like the score? and situation? PLEASE!!!!!!http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/tongue.gif http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/tongue.gif
  19. Anyone else have an eerie feeling we're going to come back from the commercials and Jenks is out of the game headed to the DL and the club loses 16 out of their next 20?? This isn't a good start to the 2nd half http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/ohwell.gif
  20. This team is a split in Pittsburgh away from being in the wild card lead...i know you cant look back, but shoot! http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/eek.gif
  21. Keith "rally killer" ginter UGH!

  23. I had a problem with not going to the lefties. I was getting ready to go to the bars and thought I'd stay home to see what they could get going against Smoltz. I went down to change and fully expected to come up and see Counsell, Brooks, and Grieve. I actually wanted to post, but I was already late to meet people. I was going to post yesterday but was busy with graduation stuff. Today is the first time I've posted this weekend and had simply forgotten about it. But that was a bonehead of an inning for our manager.
  24. another double for Lyle. 3-0 crew
  25. I was just joking. I knew it would get some of you worked up. I know Pods and Jenks have both been struggling lately. (I Have both of them on my fantasy team! grr) I also agree (as I've said numerous times) that Wes Helms is not very good. I simply was being extremely sarcastic and I'm pretty sure 99% of the people who read it could tell. For those of you who thought I was serious, I'm truely sorry. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/roll.gif http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/roll.gif http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/roll.gif
