  1. We are losing 5-1 and all we can argue about is why hart is out of the game? Really? This move has little to do with losing to the nationals. Get off Ned already. Blame him for losing but that move is not what did it.. His one at bat is going to take away our ability to come back? Do we really think we will score 4 during the last 3 innings? Nats have 3 hits and we are losing this game. We do find new ways to lose with t he main one being no hitting against a crap team. We need the next 3, that is for sure.
  2. I really can't believe there is a thread that is calling for Branyan. But beyond that, Counsell will give better defense and will hit for a better average. However, we need Hall to be in there and contribute in order to win. If that doesn't happen we are in some trouble anyways. Reading this thread it sounds like Russell is somebody he is not. He is not the answer and like somebody said before, he would be turned on very quickly when he strikes out a bunch of times in the first few games.
  3. Well a manager isnt there to teach fielding, baserunning, and how to make productive outs. Which is what some think he has to do. But I have read that it IS his job to get the team fired up. What else does a manager do besides write out a lineup card and then make a few changes during the game? He deals with the attitudes and getting people in the right mind to play everyday. Managing the egos and what not. So I dont know what you are trying to say here. Well I am one that believes firing Ned will do absolutely nothing. Give any manager a team that hits, pitches and plays defense as poorly as us and they are not winning. San Diego and Washington are two teams below us in batting and they have worse records so you could say Ned has done a good job with how we have played. I don't see how anyone can say firing Ned is going to fix our problems. His job is put a lineup out there, make the changes, and call a few steals and a hit and run. When you give up 10 runs in a game and only get 7 hits, I dont know how you can do that. My point is that bashing Ned has turned into something that is cool to do. But it will do nothing to solve our problems. I am ok with a change but not now. No point in doing it now. Wait till after the season and then go from there. But now I just see so many problems and Ned does not make us play this poorly. We have much bigger issues than him right now. Evaluating the talent and deciding how we are going to move forward.
  4. Whenever JJ bats I leave the room to get food or use the restroom. Nothing good ever comes of him being at the plate.
  5. Yes and every player has been garbage or sucks during some point. Stop reading now if that is not what you like to see. I take some days off as well seeing the world is ending during every loss here.
  6. Watching some pregame on NESN and it looks crappy out there. Like listening to them talk about the brewers. Nice to hear how other cities think of the brewers. So far its all about Prince and Braun.
  7. While the blame on Yost is going to come for the overall record, I still don't get how there is always a reason as to how "HE" lost the game. I believe the squeeze was a great call. Yet we have it being a "terrible" call and Gagne coming in a bad decision. Playing for one run is certainly not out of the ordinary and especially with Kendall up. Gagne was probably warming up seeing we thought we were going to plate a run so that was no surprise either. The loss really hinges on bad offense again. We need to score some runs and the offense continues to be simply awful. But this Yost stuff is just out of control. We need to score over 5 runs sometimes or I don't care who the manager is. Anyone who is calling for Yost's head must see something I don't. Who do we get to replace him and what exactly would that cure? Is the team batting average going to get above .250? Are we going to strike out less? Is Parra, Bush, or Villy going to get through 5 innings? I just see so many problems and all the in-game threads and afterwards are about Yost. I don't get it at all. Which is why I don't post during the games and skim after the game. But from the looks of things, Yost is still the focus.
  8. Mota, Riske or Stetter would be Just fine with me. You have not seen enough games this season. Mota maybe. But Riske is really shaky and Stetter has only been here for a quick bit. After he gives up his first run alot of opinions will change on him as well. But he is surely not our closer. That is just being said in anger for this game.
  9. Are you watching the same game? I dont know what you are talking about. He doesnt get a strike zone and got screwed on an infield hit. Where is this blowup that you are talking about. What is Ned supposed to do? I think that is the blame for any situation these days. "Ned, what are you doing?, Do something"
  10. I have no idea where some of the pitches are. Bourn had a couple that were really good.
  11. What is he supposed to do? Mota is our 8th inning guy. I assume you are talking about Stetter. I would not want him facing Berkman. But that is just me.
  12. How does he hate our bullpen? They have been overworked for some time now seeing nobody can go past 5. You have to get some innings out of your starter whenever you can. He wanted to get the righty out here before bringing in Shouse. No big deal.
  13. I have no idea how Parra stayed in this rotation ahead of Bush. And he doesnt killed nearly as much as any other pitcher yet he has been awful.
  14. Gabe Gross has left the building in Boston. Way to go Gabe!
  15. I think you could but at least he has had a decent track record during his career. Hardy has had two good months and has been pretty bad for the rest.
  16. I have never liked him and really got it from friends when he was scorching hot last year. So being a brewer fan I loved it but I really dont think he is very good at all.
  17. JJ is easily our worst hitter. Non productive out after non productive out. Or two outs at a time.
  18. It was a bomb, I will say that. We should send him back down seeing Counsell can give us that.
  19. Fondy I couldnt say it better myself. For all the people that are saying the year is over, god bless them. I am happy because casual fans like that are not needed and maybe we dont need to listen to all nonstop Ned bashing and the constant whining that occurs on a daily basis. If you watching the brewers was based on Yo then I guess you just started watching the team anyways and not really a fan anyways.
  20. Well from what I heard on the radio weeks ran through a stop sign. As for Fielder, I have no idea as he was dead. But that is the only one I can think of seeing we havent had as many chances as we would have liked. And the Hart play was probably on Cory seeing the play was in front of him and he could determine whether or not he could make it. I just dont want this to be another bash session on a coach. He had a bad game today and we still won. Plus I think sometimes the third base coach may get caught up in the moment and has a tough job. But his job is to know each runner and the situation. He may have blown it today but I dont think there is a pattern.
  21. This is truely silly. If teams gave up and platooned guys this early in the season, do we realize how many lineup changes would be made? Just off the top of my head the phillies would be doing this with Howard, Rockies with Tulo (before the injury), Giambi, Andrum Jones, Soriano, and Sheffield just to name some off the top of my head. This is not a good idea seeing the other things he brings to the table. The entire brewer team was/is struggling and just starting to come out of it. We have been winning and yet we still are looking to change something all the time. I am glad the team stays the course and rides it out. Long seasons bring hot and cold streaks to the best of players. Sometimes we get caught up in the day to day grind of the baseball season.
  22. Not sure what you are trying to say. That this board has differing opinions? You won't see the same person complain about starting the "hot hand" over a platoon advantage and then complain about starting the platoon advantage over the hot hand. I disagree on this one. Depending on which way has worked and who the hot hand is at the time, opinions change all the time. I am not going to look up past threads but an example is where he stayed with Mota in the 8th the other day against a lefty batter. It worked and some still asked why he didnt use a lefty. But then next time Ned may make the change, it won't work, and they will get on Ned for making the change and not staying with the "hot" pitcher. He gets killed no matter what happens, win or lose. If it works, there have been comments of the player did it, but if it doesn't, we got Yosted. It's an endless cycle and I am of the same thought that some would still be upset if we made the playoffs and Ned is to blame for not winning more games, or going deeper in the playoffs.
  23. Lots of brewer fans from the sound of it. Love it in chicago.
  24. Why does everyone feel like that? He walked a guy. Get over it. He look pretty good from where I am sitting.
