  1. I have almost forgotten this team is in first place Not for long if they keep playing like this.....
  2. Yeah, maybe we're the fools for watching this game instead of being outside today!
  3. Nice arm, Gwynn. I didn't realize how weak it was! Yikes.
  4. Wonderful - getting beat by Peavy....AT THE PLATE now.
  5. DAMN - shot up the middle right at Peavy, but it hit is glove!
  6. Look at the wrong end of a sweep and a 5 game losing streak, excitement isn't exactly at an all-time high right now. Which is another example of why Milwaukee's not a "baseball city" like everyone always says. Milwaukee loves a winner, but otherwise...find me something else to do. I'll guarantee I could walk into 10 bars around the city today and at least 8 or 9 will have Indy and NASCAR on but no Brewers game. But then as soon as they start winning again, everybody will jump back on the bandwagon with the "I've been a diehard fan all my life" crap.
  7. We're probably just lucky it's not 5 or 6 to zip already the way Suppan's pitching!
  8. Not a whole lot of interest in today's game. This has to be the quietest game-day thread I've seen in quite a while.
  9. Could very well be the way Peavy's pitching and the way we're playing. Although we're one-half of the way to my 2-1 Brewers win prediction!
  10. My point exactly and even if a pitcher does show some differences, I think you really need to settle in with a "starting lineup" at some point.
  11. Maybe Peavy will blow his elbow out in the 4th or something.....
  12. I'm officially changing my mind on today's game. I predict the win, 2-1.
  13. Yeah, but Jenkins almost hit a home run! .....he says sarcastically. At least it was to the opposite field...it could have been a slap single, I guess.
  14. I'm tiring of the whole "stack the lineup with lefties" story. I understand the rationale and statistics, etc., but there's also something to be said about "your starters" (i.e. "your best players") playing the majority of the time. And at some point, I really think it hurts from a consistency standpoint. Battle out of mini-slumps and ride them when they're hot. Other than an occasional platoon out of necessity, this tweaking the damn lineup EVERY DAY gets old and I think is making it harder for them to gain any consistent performance.
  15. The way they've played over the last two weeks, it would be quite an upset for them to beat Peavy today. At least I'll tell myelf that a few times and then be thrilled when they win.
  16. The way Penny is pitching, I'm not sure it matters whether Cappy allowed 1 run or 10 in the 1st. The offense doesn't look very interested in scoring off of Penny tonight....
  17. The way Capuano has started this game, you'd swear Bush was pitching!
  18. I agree - this game is most likely over with Penny on the hill against this lineup. May be early to bed. Or I guess I have the latest episode of The Shield TiVo'd..........
  19. So when do we see the first article from the east coast press proclaiming the Crew as a "pretender" due to the incredibly weak NL Central? Should be any day now....
  20. That's always a bad sign when Cordero sits down and Spurling gets up!
  21. Ok, I'll just count this as a bad one that was overdue from the pen (we've been pretty spoiled) that was caused by Yost making a stupid move..... ....and head over to watch The Sopranos from last night.... Hope we can still win it!!!
