  1. But I was just thinking.....can you imagine getting a few pops under your belt, bidding on this thing and winning it?! And then having to tell the wife??? I'd rather wind (deleted) and having to tell the wife about that!!
  2. Surprisingly, he didn't get thousands (or even hundreds) for this! It's almost hard to believe. It's now relisted starting at $60, but you can BUY IT NOW for $600 or something (I tossed the link). I guess give it a shot, right? If there's a moron willing to list it at $600, there may have been another moron willing to buy it for $600!
  3. Can anyone tell me where there is a cheese factory in dowtown Milwaukee that "has been very much improved recently" as the Florida announcers just stated (watching on MLB.TV)?
  4. No, never traded to Cincinnati. Colorado exercised a contract option year for 2007 ($2.5 million), and he will be a FA this off season. Entering 2007, he has 7.009 of ML service time.
  5. Unless it's solid talent (doubtful given that he put DM in a terrible position), I prefer that we keep him. As deep as the bullpen appears to be, it's by no means "SOLID". - Villanueva is the 6th SP, so he may not remain in the bullpen if something happens to the rotation. - Dessens has never been a great pitcher - solid long relief guy, but not someone you'd want to use in the 8th or 9th (see below) - Turnbow is one bad outing away from being a head case again. - Cordero was solid with us in the 2nd half last year, but does anyone remember how terrible he was with Texas in the first half? - Aquino had a nice spring, but has been a fringe relief guy to this point. We'll need Capellan before the season ends - otherwise, we'll wind up giving up real prospect talent later in the year to prop up the bullpen to remain in the playoff race. Can never have enough bullpen depth.
  6. Hopefully a few Cubs fans get a little too lippy in the parking lot and get their *$&@'s kicked on the way to their car.
  7. Is Beat a Meat french or something? Why not pronounce it the way it's spelled - Betemit?
  8. Someone said "agonizing" - I agree. This has just been one of those games that has been tough to watch for a number of reasons. Could be much worse right now, but we could also be comfortably in the lead. Frustrating to watch.
  9. He just needs to go down, pitch well and he'll be back. Too much potential in that damn arm.
  10. But, have they traded Capellan today?!
  11. That sucks. Just don't agree with that "on contact" with the IF in. If it's not hit right at someone, he could still have scored. With one out, you just need to hold back - it wasn't even close there.
  12. And if it's lack of IF depth on the bench, then all the more reason Rottino should have made the club vs Gwynn. SO, we had three OF's (Gwynn, Gross and Hart) sitting there and couldn't pinch hit for freakin' Counsel because we didn't have another IF available. Already time to rethink that decision and sway Gwynn and Rottino.
  13. I agree. I think you needed to go for it in the bottom of the 6th. Better chance there than in the 8th or 9th with Broxton and Saito! Plus, we're supposed to have that great Wise/Turnbow/Cordero 7/8/9 combo, so why wouldn't you go for the lead in the 6th?!
  14. Schmidt's not exactly helping the WHIP on one of my fantasy teams at the moment! But I'll sacrifice that for a Brew Crew win!!!
  15. Rickie sure has that long foul-ball home run swing down!
  16. Great, Counsel again tonight. Hopefully by complaining, he'll have a big game!
  17. Nice ...two-pitch win for Brian's House if they can hold on!
  18. Maybe this platoon thing is going to work after all
  19. I have to agree with TooLIve, but can understand where you're coming from, Canada. In my heart, I'd really love to see Hall at 3B instead of a Graf/Counsel platoon. However, I know in my head that we need to just get Hall out in CF so we're prepared when Braun arrives (which could be mid-year '07). So, in the immediate term it creates a situation many of us may not feel comfortable with. But for the long-term, I understand why they're doing what they're doing.
  20. ESPN (Atl/Phil game) actually just talking about the Phillies adding some "thump" in the OF and that Lieber is most-mentioned as being available (except the did hedge by pointing out the Freddy Garcia situation). So far, the Brewers haven't come up in their conversation about possible deals.
  21. Has anyone seen the problems we apparently have in the bullpen? Vargas in the bullpen and Lieber in the rotation may help alleviate the concern that DM and Yost have expressed about the bullpen. Worst-case it provides depth against injury that we wound up not having last year. And if 85-87 wins takes the division, it may be just what we need to weather a minor injury or two.
