  2. Bush shouldn't have started in the first place, should have been Villy. Bush has always sucked against the Cubs lineup. But if Bush doesn't have his control, he really is a bad pitcher.
  3. Weeks just tied the all-time record for consecutive games scoring a run, with 16, tying Molitor.

  5. Stay away rain, Brewers have some Cub ass to beat.
  6. Yost said he would not be skipping starters as it would result in only one extra start for Sheets in April. It will be Parra on Sat, Sheets on Sun.
  7. A win tomorrow would be gravy, but we are definitely capable of rocking Dempster.
  8. Bye Bye Cubs. Sit the hell down.
  9. I would take over on the 9.5 without question.
  10. 2.84 ERA against the Cubs last year for Suppan. Brewers tagged Lilly for a 5.29 ERA.
  11. Lilly doesn't scare me at all, especially with the abundance of right handed bats in the lineup. Lets take this one.
  12. I'll take the under on that. I had the Crew at 88 wins total. For road wins I will say 36.
  13. For the money they gave him, I think he would have played in Antarctica.
  14. I wish this board would drop its inferiority complex about Chicago as a city. I love Wisconsin and it'll always be home but that doesn't change the fact that Chicago is a fantastic city and that a lot of places in Wisconsin are dumps. Chicago as a fantastic city is an opinion, not a fact. If you like it fine, I have no reason to pay tolls to drive on crappy Illinois roads with horrible Illinois drivers to go down there personally. I've been there enough in my life. It is nothing to do with an inferiority complex. I would take Madison over Chicago any day of the week and twice on Sunday. Badger football and basketball games alone trump it.
  15. I could care less about all of that, Cubs fans alone trump all of it. Chicago = trash.
  16. I will probably officially lose it if they don't get this game in today.
  17. I see them listed as 16 runs better for runs scored, or am I reading this incorrectly?
  18. There was an article on brewers.com that the rotation is set for the first two weeks of the season, and that we will not be skipping any starts, as it would only result in one extra Sheets start for the month of April. Given Yo's injury and the two week comment, would it be safe to assume Gallardo returns for the Cardinals series, April 15-17? Bush/Villanueva/Parra are the scheduled starters for that series, and one of those three will be out of the rotation once Yo returns, so they wouldn't have to mess with days off, etc. I think it is most likely Parra sent to AAA.
  19. Yes, 168 IP is a somewhat small sample. However, career CV has a better ERA (3.86 to 4.25)/WHIP (1.24 to 1.25)/BAA (.230 to .268) than Bush does. Is it also out of line to say that Villanueva has a better chance to improve given age than Bush (not that it is a guarantee, but more likely)? I guess the season will bear it out.
  20. I don't think they will be worlds apart either, I just think Villanueva will be better. Villanueva has slightly better stuff and doesn't give up nearly as many big innings. People love Bush because of his low walk totals and high K/BB ratio, but when it comes to actually not letting runners across, he has struggled in that area while CV has not.
  21. I think Parra to the bullpen is an option (although unlikely), but not Villanueva and almost certainly not Bush. My guess is Parra to AAA when Yovanni comes back, to limit his innings. If he pitches well at AAA he will definitely be back on the club for the home stretch, I would think.
  22. Don't they want to keep Parra from the pen too? I know he's said he isn't as comfortable coming out of the pen than he is starting. And lets face it, his future is as a starter not a long reliever. I would agree, that is why I think Parra either stays in the rotation or goes to AAA. They are not going to have much to go by at that point, IMO Bush/Parra will have both only had two starts. I guess my biggest issue with it all is McClung having a ML roster spot over either CV/Parra (if one goes down).
  23. Probably because most don't agree with any projections that have Bush as good as Villanueva this year. It could happen, but I do not think it will. In my opinion, Villanueva/Bush is a better starter pen combination than Bush/McClung, and I think most would agree. They will not put Villanueva in the ML bullpen. I'd say the same is true with a Parra/Bush combination compared to Bush/McClung.
