  1. All for naught. Contenders don't let pitchers who throw bases loaded 3-0 pitches into the dugout another chance in that situation. But I have no doubt that Ned would put him in again if faced with a similar situation today. See, Ned does learn from his decision making, its just that it takes him 5 or 6 times of making the same bogus decision before he gets it. That would put us on pace to win consistantly in '08 or '09. That game should have been won last night, at the very least it should have been close. IMO, swap Aquino for Capellan (admit the decision out of camp was wrong), keep Villanueva for long middle relief.
  2. Obviously I am not Ned Yost, but I am thinking how I cannot trust Aquino to get me that out, even before I bring him in. It didn't even dawn on Yost to LET SHOUSE FINISH THE INNING. He is too hell bent on the righty vs. lefty strategy that he cannot see the momentum factor. IMO, let Shouse finish that inning (1 more out, and he was on a roll), and ballgame over. One more of these this week and I am going to be ill, especially since I am going to all 3 Astro games. On the side, Aquino better be down at AAA before gametime against the Pirates. Not fun watching the game on FSN Ohio with a bunch of Reds fans when Aquino puts a 3-0 pitch into the dugout. Capellan has a gripe, fo sho.
  3. Happy Friday all! It is nice to kick back and watch the Brew Crew with a nice steak, baked potato, Stella Artois, and when the going gets rough, Patron Tequila! El Cabezo will lead us to victory! Just picked up a case of Stella from Sam's. Its not easy to find.
  4. Personally, I'm glad he's "working on it" on KC's watch. Yeah, he can work on it for the rest of his career now for all I care.
  5. I think a good percentage of the Cub fans at Miller Park acually live and work here in the Milwaukee area. I have met a lot of them where I work.
  6. Too bad we couldn't have Cappy on the mound today. He missed the Cubs this time around.
  7. Given my expectations before going to the game, I had to check the box again this morning to make sure I didn't dream up the game last night. Just when you think three or four guys on the team are useless, those same players end up with 6 RBI and we win the game. I love seeing Cubs fans after their team loses. The Scrubby Cubbies were back, and hopefully they show up this afternoon also. The crowd reaction to Zambrano losing it after Brady's homer was priceless as well. What a hothead. I sure wouldn't want to have been Barrett in the dugout after that inning. Edit: One of the guys in the suite we were in said Bush is tossing a no-hitter about 10 seconds before Pierre hit his patented infield single. At first it looked like Billy had a chance, but Pierre is fast, really fast. I put my finger to my lips, but it was too late. I blame that guy, and Cub fans.
  8. Now that lineup has some potential. Maybe Bell for Rillo once on awhile and Rivera to give Miller a day off. what What WHAT!! No Jenkins?
  9. Zambrano goes yard in the 2nd and the 6th, strikes out 11, and the friggin Cubs fans piss me off again tonight. What I would give if that weren't true.
  10. I don't feel the enthusiasm for Gross the way some people do. He looks ugly at the plate most of the time, and he cannot hit lefties, ever. His value to the team should include coming off the bench, not starting and leading off. I hope that TGJ is our centerfielder next year, because I see much more upside to his talent level (especially leading off) than I see in Gross. my opinion.
  11. Hall batting 7 again. Oh yeah, and carpenter is gonna throw a no hitter. I'm predicting Carpenter gives us three hits, one run. Better be sharp DD!
  12. oh shhhhhhhhhh--, this is not looking good.
  13. He was hitting the ball extremely well the first 3 weeks in July and now this last week cooled off. I wouldn't have used the word 'extremely' but that is just me.
  14. Maybe it was too early for a CG?
  15. I am giving Sheets a standing 'O' in my living room, with a tear in my eye.
  16. If Sheets gets a CG today, I'll really question why he was pulled early in his last outing. Sheets was on a pitch count (100), and he may still be on one.
  17. Another thing about Junkins, *sigh*
  18. Team LOB = 9 through 6 innings. Why do I get the feeling that one run is not enough to win today? Oh yeah, !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  19. I don't think I have mentioned how glad I am to see Sheeter back. Something to look forward to every five games. 68 pitches thru 6 with 8 K's, stellar!!
  20. I don't think its a good idea for a Brewer pitcher to issue an IBB to get to the pitcher, aren't opposing pitchers batting around .799 against the Crew this year?
  21. Now with a 3 run cushion, I would love to see D-Bow in the 9th, get him rolling again.
