  1. Yost is about the 10th biggest problem right now. Yost's post game press conferences are a strong indication he is not up to the task of managing a baseball team. The frustration he shows in his eyes and replies is very telling that he is over-matched, and the team just seems to be feeding on that and following suit. I chose No, because I think Yost thinks the same thing deep down.
  2. Isn't it time to stop talking about Yo? And using it as an excuse for Ned? If the time hasn't come yet, I sure hope it comes soon cause I'm sick of hearing about it. As for the thread topic, the sooner the better works for me (like right now, any minute). Realistically... I think Melvin waits too long, the Brews are 10 games under .500, and its after Memorial Day. Only if Melvin could send BA and BS packing with Yost, now that's the day I get re-energized.
  3. Maybe Skaalan can teach these Brewers how to keep their eyes open when they swing? Maybe someday. Lucky for me I get to leave for a softball game now.
  4. 1-2-3 to start the game, anything else would be uncivilized.
  5. Every team deals with injuries. Its just the Brewers and Ned Yost don't deal with them very well... mainly by losing a lot of games and then pointing to the injuries. The loss of Yo should not derail expectations IMO, but I see it has.
  6. not a good team. And if winning tradition helps propel a team to the World Series, then the Brews can fold it up right now.
  7. This team is pathetic right now. Absolutely pathetic. I'm glad I spent less than 30 min on this game. I might start spending less and less time on this team (ala the 07-08 Bucks) until all I am doing is checking the box score and the standings twice a week by mid August. I love baseball, and I love the Brewers, but this is so painful. They aren't even trying to score runs. All they are trying to do is HR Derby. 2007 seems so long ago.
  8. I'd love to see the Brewers replace Ned with Simmons if I thought that would mean a ride deep into October, but there is absolutely nothing to suggest that will be the result, as there is nothing to suggest it will result in any improvement what so ever. What, may I ask, suggests that Ned Yost will equate to a ride deep into October? There is more to suggest that this will not happen than to suggest that Simmons can't do it. Its Yost's track record... stubbornness, poor decision making, cool losing, pressure folding track record. Not to mention those faces he is always making in the dugout. 3 out of 5 Ned faces make me cringe.
  9. Just so we're clear, your position is that the difference between Ned Yost and Tony LaRussa is 44 wins in a 162 game schedule (.363 vs. .636)? Forgive me if I question you objectivity when you throw around stupid numbers like that. Yes, that is my position. Boo! What is Yost's record this year against sub .500 teams? That is pretty much all the Cards have played so far. It's easy to say things like Yost would only have half the wins in LaRussa's shoes but try backing it up with something tangible. You will find there is a reson for the Cards hot start other than the manager "getting more out of his players." After the season ends I have little doubt the Brewers will be ahead of the Cards in the standing. The little doubt I do have is due to the uncertainty of injuries. Something that has already hit the Brewers harder than either the Cubs or Cards. Forget the Cards have been missing their #1 and #2 pitchers all season, and the Cubs went 9-4 or something close without Soriano. The Brewers have suffered one real injury, and that was to a good but young pitcher. Saying the Brewers have been hit harder with injuries than the Cubs or Cards is not true in my opinion. Oh, and Yost's team is 6-6 vs. sub .500 teams. If they can't be over .500 vs. sub .500 teams, how can you possibly think the Brewers can be above .500 at all? Yost will not have this team above .500 at the end of this year (easily fathomable, even for the hardest core optimistic Brewers fan), so the only way the Brewers finish above the Cards is if the Cards are further below .500 than the Brewers. I have much doubt the Brewers can finish above the Cards, simply based on the facts that Ned Yost is the manager of the Brewers and Budweiser sells more beer than Miller.
  10. What were the expectations for St Louis this year? Name their starting rotation without looking. Make Yost the manager there and they have 12 wins, not 21. Granted Royster was horrible and overmatched at the MLB level, but at least he wasnt crass and snippity on top of it.
  11. I believe the Brewers could not be any worse off with a different manager. While the players have definitely not done their part this year, I doubt Yost has done anything at all to inspire them. I say this because he has not inspired me to believe he is a competent manager.
  12. My reservations on the rest of this season make me more concerned when I realize my 10-pack hasn't even started yet. However, I am looking forward to the "Yost Must Go" chants right around my third or forth game. Maybe I would have be inclined to take Parra out before the entire HR, HR, 1B, 2B, 1B, BB plays out. I might also have been thinking about PHing Kapler (only power on the bench) with the bases loaded and 2 out. Crap, but Kapler isn't a lefty, so PHing him in that role (vs. a RHP) is completely out! I vow to myself to no longer get too excited about the Brewers or the season as long as Ned Yost is the manager.
  13. I think Cameron was onto something that last half inning... pretend Sveum is not even there. Then if that works, the players can pretend Ned is not there (not a big stretch).
  14. I'm surprised Bill didn't say the Brewers were fortunate to get out that inning with only giving up 5 runs.
  15. I know its early, but Hardy is not the only one sucking this year. Prince, Rickie, and Bill have all pretty much sucked as well. How this team is over .500 is a giant mystery to me. I hope the luck continues this year, but hoping on luck usually doesn't pan out for me.
  16. I'd love to see the face of the idiot who caught Zambrano's homerun right at this very moment It probably doesn't look anything like mine --> http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/laugh.gif
  17. Soto, Pie, Fontenot. How about a 1, 2, 3 Gagne?!?!
  18. YEASSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!! Why try to score Rickie, Dale? Two bad on Dale today.
  19. Rough line for Cameron today. 6 LOB to go along with an 0-5.
  20. I am now in the belief the Brewers have a good chance to tie this game.
