  1. Wonder if Feliz will get 40 innings this year.
  2. Suter threw 4 innings his last outing. Could spot start but he's going to pen. I would like Hader and Lopez to get a few starts before they bring them up.
  3. You are correct in the fact that Stearns hasn't been in baseball that long, but when you have a guy that throws 98 you protect him. Taylor Williams coming off tj surgery gets protected but you don't protect Diaz? Makes one question the pitching evaluation of players within the organization.
  4. They did that last year...not going to happen.
  5. Milone or Suter going to start next game in Guerra's spot.
  6. Maybe it wasn't the first time they gave him false hope and it just carried over to a heated childish rant, not saying it's right but there could be other factors that brought this on. I think people should cut him some slack, still relatively young by mlb standards and one of the longest tenured guys in the organization.
  7. Thanks for the link, but am I missing something? Barnes appears to be superior to reliever Tyler Cravy in all those things with the exception of ERA and BABIP. And that seems pretty much negligible unless you are telling me that a .213 BABIP and a 0% HR/FB with a 38% hard contact rate is sustainable. Cravy's whip is lower. And percentage Lob. Which is pretty important for a reliever. Going forward we will see how their numbers look with more innings pitched. Limited samples, I agree.
  8. When comparing Barnes vs. Cravy, most people overlook that fact Cravy started games and Barnes didnt. If you look at mlb relief numbers from all of last year and spring, Cravy has lower era, fip, babip, whip and swing and miss rate. Barnes has 2 options left. Cravy has none. http://www.fangraphs.com/leaders.aspx?pos=all&stats=rel&lg=all&qual=10&type=1&season=2016&month=0&season1=2016&ind=0&team=23&rost=0&age=0&filter=&players=0&sort=2,d
  9. Honestly no one knows what was said behind closed doors except for Cravy, Scahill, Counsell and Stearns. Obviously something set off Cravy in that meeting. Not saying its right to make some of those comments. Its a classic non-thinking rant, and in the end, cooler heads will prevail and all parties will move on. If there was a pattern of this behavior from Cravy, I would be concerned, but I don't think that's the case.
  10. One of the best posts, I've ever read on this forum. I was looked over for a promotion one time and I wasn't afraid to ask why and vent my frustration. At the same time, I was also given some legitimate reasons as to why.
  11. I guess it depends on which metrics you look at. Babip, swing and miss rate are a couple stats that have been real good recently.
  12. Someone brought up the fact that Kintzler bad mouthed management a few years back...just signed a 2.925 million dollar deal with twins.
  13. Garza did a hell of job selling the phantom injury. Made me think his next role will be in Hollywood.
  14. Longest win streak 6 games. Longest losing streak 9 games.
  15. A move I thought was baffling was signing a closer for 4.5 million. I thought Torres could of slide into that role easily, sort of the way Thornburg did last year. Not sure what Milone's career relief splits are. Milone on being told he made team...are you kidding me? Is this an early April's fool joke? Counsell...no its real and youre our veteran presence in the bullpen.
  16. Barnes will get a spot because it's doesn't matter how one pitches in spring. Milone is a prime example. Blazek has better stuff than Milone. No wonder he was mad about getting sent down.
  17. Just one of those cases when a GM does a favor for an agent. It happens.
  18. I doubt that. I understand the move if we are trying to tank this year. There must be a draft pick that Stearns wants.
  19. I watched Milone pitch for the A's when he had a few good years, then I watched him pitch for the Twins. He's not what he used to be. This kind of move is a slap in the face of numerous guys trying to make the team. Good job Stearns, nice loyalty to your organizational players.
  20. That's just wrong...guys out pitched him, last year and in spring. Its not like he had a good year last year. It just screws a young guy who pitched better than him. Plus the right handed relief pitchers have better splits vs lefties. Just goes to show its who you know. Veteran presence in the pen is a lame excuse for keeping him.
  21. Please put Milone on 10 day DL...or release him.
  22. My bullpen picks Feliz Torres Knebel Marinez Barnes (hardest thrower, brewers overlook horrible spring) Milone (need a lefty but actually doesn't throw as well the young guys getting sent down) Jungmann (Need to create some value some way. Personally I would make him a starter again, seems to have figured out some things)
  23. There is no way Kela is going anywhere.
  24. I wouldn't trade anything for relief pitchers...with all the young prospect starters that the Brewers have, some of those guys are going to get moved to relief. I definitely see others teams grabbing more rule 5 players from the Brewers over the next 3 years.
