  1. Wilkins is not an outfielder, watched plenty of games at AAA where he attempted to play the position.
  2. Middlebrooks will get the call before any other outfielders come up.
  3. Not thrilled to see that, especially with the way Brent Suter's pitched of late. Seriously, last year he broke out as a starter, pitched darn well at Colorado Springs, and they keep doing this bullpen/rotation shuffle? They did the same thing with Tim Dillard a decade ago... Frustrating. Just frustrating. 2nd Game...Possibly worst outing ever by Cravy followed by Pena...down 12 zip after two.
  4. It's nice to have a 95 mph fastball but if you don't throw strikes it doesn't matter...Zack Jones...Another nice rule 5 pickup...Not.
  5. Aren't the Brewers just 6 or 7 games out of the wild card?. The best players should be up and he is one of them. Arcia saves at least one hit a game. I have watched a majority of the Colorado Springs games and every day he is making unbelievable plays. Bring him up!
  6. Maybe the Braves coaches actually see some sort of flaw in his delivery and are going to attempt to change some things. Thought the Brewers would of tried to have him throw sidearm before giving him up. joking but they have done it before. It's going to be interesting to see what happens to him.
  7. I'm getting tired of the PED's. It's a joke and MLB needs to put the hammer down. Let's fix the problem once and for all, by banning guys the first time they get caught. MLB provides a list of acceptable substances that they can take. If you don't follow it, its your own fault. If your unsure about a substance, send it to MLB for testing. It really is that simple. If they paid decent wages at AA and AAA, it may curb some of the PED use in the minors. When you have such a discrepancy in wages from the minors to the majors, guys are always going to be looking for a way to get an advantage, hence PED use.
  8. Who's gets dropped to AAA when Garza comes back? Peralta, Davies or Guerra?
  9. Wow, I'm surprised, the Brewers finally called up someone who deserved an opportunity instead of picking someone of the waiver garbage pile. Maybe he can stick so they won't need to burn one of his options.
  10. Ramirez and Barnes are the same age, and Ramirez has posted a sub 1.5 ERA in the Majors just two years ago. Maybe he never gets his velocity back, but I am not sure that constitutes as "dime a dozen". In 2104, he threw 72% fastballs, 17.4% sliders...fast forward 2016....he throws 50.7% fastballs and 40.4% sliders courtesy of fangraphs.
  11. Ramirez and Barnes are the same age, and Ramirez has posted a sub 1.5 ERA in the Majors just two years ago. Maybe he never gets his velocity back, but I am not sure that constitutes as "dime a dozen". Two years ago is a long time. He has been horrible this year and lost velocity over the last two years and has had a walk an inning this year. If he was better than average, more teams than the Brewers would of claimed him off waivers. In most cases, the players that the Brewers pick up, never get claimed by anyone else. He is probably injured too, like other relief pitchers who got picked up preseason and have never thrown a pitch. It's ok though, we like paying guys who don't play.
  12. Not too sure I understand the Ramirez pickup. We already have two guys coming back in relief. Are two guys going to AAA and then other guys being released? It's a shame that guys at AAA who deserve a shot are being overlooked. Barnes should of been called up before picking up another dime a dozen reliever.
  13. Guess all the expert analysis that Stearns and Company had on Walsh didn't pan out. Just wondering how many rule 5 guys were taken after Walsh that have stuck? BTW, I called it the minute he was picked.
  14. Listening to Timber Rattlers game...Harrison has the green light on 0-3 count kind of surprises me when he's batting .165
  15. Theoretically a game could never end if the Manager wanted to continually walk guys since there is no opportunity to swing at pitches.
  16. We remember. But we also remember he was pretty bad before he got called up last year, and for the most part struggled throughout his minor league career. He was capable of putting stretches together like this, no idea why he is so "on or off." Hiring a new pitching coach that that tried to tweak his unorthodox delivery obviously didn't help him and sent him backwards. Hopefully he'll get back to throwing strikes sooner than later. Thornburg was pretty horrible last year at AAA...era in the 7's when he got called up and look where his is now.
  17. That's only part of it...The baseballs are different too.
  18. Why does everyone complain so much about Colorado Springs...The Coaches and Managers in the whole organization know the situation. They don't take it out on the pitchers. The manager and pitching coach stated in pregame interviews that they basically want them to go out there and throw strikes, is that asking too much? They understand a pop up with the wind blowing 30 mph that gets out of the park is going to happen. Remember half the games are on the road. You might have an ERA of 5 or 6 at home but hopefully on the road it's better. If you put a yearly era under 4 at Colorado Springs, it's pretty darn good. Bottom Line, If you don't throw strikes your going to get into trouble, ask Lopez about that. He was better last outing, hopefully he continues to throw strikes.
  19. Didn't far well? Jhan had a 1.92 ERA with a 1.09 WHIP and more KS than innings pitched last year. You won't find many better than that. Late bloomer, but that's common among late relievers. I'll predict he'll pass up Thornburg within a month. Very solid addition. Well done Stearns. If it was Melvin, we'd have a bunch of relievers locked into muti-year deal and zero flexibility to do a deal like this. 2013 and 2014 numbers were horrible. One good year, yes. We have guys at AAA that have as good of numbers as Martinez that should of been brought up first. Currently Barnes has a lower era, k an inning and lower whip.
  20. Well Dillard hit a homer this week. I think Dillard and Cravy have the highest OPS on the skysox team.
  21. Sure would like to know how much cash was involved in the deal. Was it $1? $10,000? $100,000? $1,000,000? Didn't far too well at AA and AAA.
  22. Those of you out there, let me know your opinion on this. Andy Wilkins has played over 500 minor league games over the years with only 18 in the OF. He misplayed a ball tonight that cost the Sky Sox one run and the game since it ended 1-0. Don't we have anyone in the minor league league system that can play outfield at AAA instead of sticking an infielder out there? Kyle Wren or anyone? I think Wilkins has started in OF a few times this year but it makes no sense to me. Are we that restricted with the AAA roster to pickup another outfielder?
