  1. Easy Solution...don't play him on the road.
  2. The bigger question is how come Lopez didn't start this game?
  3. Former Brewer Brandon Kintzler putting together a pretty good year for the Twins.
  4. I think he has another year before needing to be added.
  5. would like an answer too he has to be added to the 40 should be easy move Flores and Kirk has had a 4 month audition and failed I am going to agree with you. He should of got up before Wilkins got the call.
  6. Horrible ruling! It is amazing to me that guys are required to report to spring training but don't get paid, if I'm not mistaken they only get meal money. This needs to be addressed in the next cba along with wages for all levels.
  7. There are some highly intelligent people on this forum, that being said, maybe some of them can explain this to me. Why would Austin Ross and Tyler Cravy pitch in back to back nights...one high leverage, next low leverage. When there are 8 or 9 relievers on team and at least 4 haven't see action in a couple days, I personally think this is how you could injure someone.
  8. Predictions for next tj candidate? I'll go with Sean Nolin...
  9. Sorry to hear about this...I didn't even realize he was hurt that bad.
  10. In the 9th, Arcia booted a routine ground ball dp and Magnifico lost the zone. Magnifico has done this numerous times this season. 4 walks in 9th...not what you want from a closer.
  11. I'm starting to think the Haniger trade was a bad one after watching him hammer the Sky Sox.
  12. Good Article on LaPorta. I totally agree with you on the first round funk. Stearns will definitely do a better job of analyzing future picks and that's part of why he was brought in.
  13. Good Points. Based on what Stearns has been doing with waiver pickups. He is looking for that needle in a haystack that can stick or someone that can be flipped. I'm just wondering how many pitchers in the Brewers system move to another team and seem to do better. That would lead me to think that the coaching is a little suspect.
  14. You first. Any pitcher will come to MKE if they want to pay them. And I'm not sure there is an ACE in the league that has went 1 or 2 in the draft. Some first rounders of course but you're being over dramatic. No amount of money will get a 1 or 2 to Milwaukee because another team will pay just as much and in a better market and pitchers ballpark. Would be nice to draft a Strasburg type pitcher...Think he was a no. 1 overall, so was David Price and Gerritt Cole. In a 5 year span you should be able to get a quality starting arm.
  15. I don't think fans would stand for being the worst team in MLB for several years in a row. As much as I understand and agree with rebuilding, I think I would even have a problem with that. Drafting #1 for years certainly would give you the best chance to find an ace, but not the only way. Plus, I dismiss the premise that you even need a #1 starter, as in a true ace. Finally, if they feel the need to get one of those guys down the road, they can always trade for one as they did with Sabathia and Greinke. Not ideal, just saying they COULD. They have about 20-22 positions to fill before they compete again, so I'm not even worried about that right now. The Royals fans stuck around for many years of losing and were finally rewarded in the end thanks to some help from the Brewers.
  16. Dodgers have a lot of quality pitchers in the minors, let's go get one.
  17. Let's be realistic. Brewers need a 1 and 2 pitcher. No 1 or 2 pitcher would ever come to Milwaukee, so that leaves developing a pitcher through the draft. Getting the number one or two pick in the draft for several years in a row is probably the only way they may luck into finding one. Start looking at 2020 and beyond before a playoff appearance comes.
  18. Hader has had the same problem as Lopez. Walking way too many guys instead of attacking hitters. Plus his pitch count is high every game. Throwing strikes on the road has nothing to do with the Colorado Springs excuse.
  19. Lopez has been his own worst enemy by walking so many. Leads the PCL. One of his OK outings went 5 innings and walked 5.
  20. Welcome to the PCL Mr. Wilkerson...Former Brewer Mitch Hanger having a very nice AAA season.
  21. Plus smart base runners go from 1st to 3rd on the shift when the ball is put in play. Seen it several times this year.
  22. A better solution would of been to Davies on the 7 day DL. He gets service time and gets paid.
  23. I don't side with Boras in very many instances but I do in this case. How many other teams have done this with one of their starters over the last 10 years? Has it happened one time? It's bush league by the Brewers. You pay Cappy 1 mil+ and your concerned about $24,000...yea yea it's about the extra bat not the money...the extra bat is hitting .238 at Colorado Springs, not very good for a hitters ballpark, should of brought up Manny Pina and pulled Wilkins off 40 man...plus they knew they were going to move Hill. They should of brought Wilkins in after trade and left Davies on roster. He can pinch run better than Wilkins anyway.
  24. All the starters in Colorado Springs have high ERA's. I'm not that concerned. Besides wind, altitude and umpire inconsistencies being factors in a majority of games, a lot of times at AAA, players are being put into positions that they have no business playing, such as Wilkins in the OF. For instance last night, Orf gets moved to 3rd base (Middlebrooks callup), plays that Middlebrooks makes at 3rd, Orf doesn't. Instead of no runs in the first, it ends up being 3 runs. I like Orf, but he needs to stay at 2nd. A number of miscues and bad defense last night cost them the game. Yes, I watched the whole game. Last year Thornburg was absolutely horrible at AAA (think his era was above 7)...and this year, well he's performed great.
