  1. Maybe they saw something like he was tipping his pitches that they can fix and if you can pick up a 5th starter for a couple of Mil. 2 years ago he put up a 3.42 ERA and was +142 ERA+. Maybe he pitches like old Yo and we flip him at the deadline.
  2. AZ wants to get out of the contract. I see this like the Stanton contract. Maybe Villar and a low A pitcher
  3. Rangers are talking to the Dbacks about Grienke, his deal is 4 years at with about 135 milion left. If the dback covered 35 mil and took a couple of flyers, this could be a decent deal. He's a couple of years older than Jake but we know him and he has a longer track record of being an ace. 4 years at $25 mil isn't going to cripple us .
  4. Cut by the Cubs who seeming gave up on him . Could be a really good buy low guy and set up man for Knebel. He's in his prime and if his head is right and the pressure of closing is off of him could be a steal.
  5. TB needs to restock and we need another solid pitcher. He had a bit of a down year but still has 2 years of control. I'm sure they'll ask for Brinson , maybe a Brinson/Bickford would get it started?
  6. We've seen what Broxton can do. I don't see the point of playing him every day.
  7. I doubt that. Just like Erceg before him hitting at the upper levels can be changeling. Plus he's going to need to spend a year or 2 working at 2B
  8. Not sure where you going with that. All 3 players we got for Lind were lotto tickets who weren't suppose to be in MLB till 2019 at the earliest. Check back in 2022 and compare WAR
  9. Still have 2 weeks to go. There will be more movement once a few more teams become buyer/sellers.
  10. I don't think so. He's hitting the month of june on a team that isn't hitting well at the moment. He's hitting .271 for the month and they are going to give him every chance to succeed.
  11. I went to my first Timber rattlers game on Saturday. Burkhalter was awful. No one is hitting on this team. Lara had a couple of nice hits hopefully he catches fire and gets above .200
  12. Is Woodruff even on the 40 man roster?
  13. He's had a horrible year but his last 3 years have been excellent. Rangers designated him for assignment , maybe we could get him cheap if we pick up his salary. Earliest he could be a FA is 2021 and could be a solid bullpen arm if he gets sorted.
  14. My guess it would look like the Niese trade To Mets: LHP Jonathon Niese To Pirates: LHP Antonio Bastardo, cash
  15. The Brewers should partner with a Korea baseball team. We send over our A+/AA/AAA guys who can't hit off speed stuff, they get cheap minor league talent for 1-3 years and maybe some of the guys end up staying over there. I just wonder what numbers Santana could put up if he had a better eye.
  16. I'm not high on Perez and I bet the over on the brewers at 69.5
  17. Sorry got them mixed up
  18. Turns out he has a coke problem and is in rehab. Don't think we want to touch him.
  19. [sarcasm]Our new starting 2B[/sarcasm]
  20. Can't see Santana at 1B anytime soon. 3 years of Thames and hopefully we'll have someone come up through the system after that.
  21. If that's gaming the system, then I suspect they're the fools. Fowler's a 2 WAR player who just had a sudden career year at age 30 who relies heavily on speed to get his value. If one thinks he's a 4 WAR player going forward, well....... I think the punishment is appropriate, and I expected MLB to go easy on them. He's playing for the Cardinals now, he's going to be a 6 war player now.
  22. http://m.mlb.com/prospects/2016?list=lhp #2 on mlb.com
  23. The only way they do a deal with him is for 2 years with no opt out. He'll be out the beginning of the season so he won't have much value at trade deadline. Best case is he finishes strong and flip him in the off season.
  24. I believe most of his errors were throwing errors, something that he wouldn't have to do at 1B much.
